Sorry, English weil da noch keine Ãœbersetzung steht (und ich die auf Englisch angefangen hab):
If it were at least Leo next to him, Adam wouldn't even have minded the damp and miserably cold November night that much. But Leo and Pia had been stuck behind a traffic accident on the way back from court and so Adam was stuck with Esther. Even if he trusted Esther further than he could throw her -- which he didn't, considering she had been the one to get him arrested after his father's death, and, worse, she had used Leo to do so -- he would have much preferred to be miserable and bored with his actual partner and best friend.
"If brooding were an Olympic sport, I'm sure you would have made the national team," she said at that moment. He scowled over at her, because what the fuck business was it of hers. "Yep, totally."
"Oh, just shut up," he told her and looked out the window at the darkened street they were parked in.
It was stupid. The four of them couldn't possibly keep all the waste bins in even one, let alone two, areas under surveillance and hope to get lucky. No one even knew the disposal happened at night and not during a busy day and eventually, they would all need to sleep. If they could up at least cameras so they had no gaps and missed something, but those apparently were as little in the budget as relief for them out here.Â
Adam let out a frustrated sigh and wiped away the condensation that had started to gather on the inside of the windows. Then someone's stomach growled and it certainly wasn't his. He glanced over at Esther with a pointedly raised eyebrow, but she only crossed her arms over her chest in her puffy winter jacket and pursed her lips.
Rolling his eyes, he leaned forward and retrieved an oat bar from the glove compartment and held it out to her. When she glanced at him as if he'd turned into a changeling, he held it out further. "I've seen you hangry, and it's not a pretty sight."
"Arse." But she did take the bar and it vanished into her hungry maw within a few moments.
