"Trippin" (1999) is a comedy film directed by David Raynr and written by Gary Hardwick. In the late 1990s, high-school-themed movies were gaining popularity, particularly from the comedy angle. Previous urban high-school-theme movies like "Lean On Me" and "Juice" were dramas. But that changed with movies like "Ride" (1998) and "Trippin" which were precursors to early 2000s high school comedies. In addition, these movies incorporated the popularity of hip-hop and RnB to be part of the soundtracks and story.

The cast of "Trippin" were familiar faces from T.V. shows in the 90s, such as Deon Richmond, Maia Campbell, and Countess Vaughn. Other actors appeared in T.V. shows and movies as well. "Trippin" is a nostalgic comedy movie that is a fascinating time capsule from the late 90s.
