♥︎ as much as you loved the kisses being peppered upon you, you wanted to settle this and clean up. his eyes scream hunger & his face heats up before he offers a quick solution to this.

♥︎ he tugs at the brim of your underwear as his eyes meet yours, dimly lit. his breath is heavy & hitching with every heave of his chest.

♥︎ “i—.. i can handle this. only if you’d let me.” he mutters shyly, swallowing sharply.

♥︎ you can assume what happens after. this isn’t a common occurrence so don’t expect to be hunching everytime your end of the sentence stirs up, he isn’t a newblood (^_^)

♥︎ do vampires still experience periods? i mean im assuming not & so did you until your vampire lover awakes you, mortified

♥︎ i think he was under the same impression you were..

♥︎ “l—lovely? are you ok? are you hurt?” he isn’t stupid, he obviously can make the guess it’s your period but how are you on your period

♥︎ after a quick chat with a vampire special gynecologist, you learn that your uterine lining can still shed. unfortunately you still can experience your period but thankfully it’s more lighter than it would be as a vampire than a human.

♥︎ after that panic, vincent helps you clean up. he never had to experience something like this so.. his reaction was rather similar to sams. he felt a tad excited about the whole thing

♥︎ until you expressed the discomfort you were in & the desperate want to rest after everything so he made quick work of cleaning everything for you of course.

♥︎ as you showered, vincent did thorough research for what aids period cramps. shortly after, he prepared a heating pad, chocolate, pain killers & water

♥︎ being a vampire, the blood smell stabbed him right in the nose. it was obnoxiously strong & impossible to sleep off so he awoke.

♥︎ “holy hells.”

♥︎ he gulps & sits up, looking around awkwardly. does.. does he wake you up? he doesn’t know. he lies back down. that doesn’t feel right, he sits back up

♥︎ porter within his time hasn’t had the displeasure of dealing with a period & if he had, it’s been years.

♥︎ you still being asleep, he uses your phone to google what to do as vincent did. soon after, he awakes you gently. his voice soft and gentle as he did.

♥︎ “treasure. there’s a bit of a bloody mess below us.. now, before you overr-“ POW. right in his nose goes your head as you sit up horrified.

♥︎ spewing out apologies, you feel your heart race intensely. porter instantly shushes you & caresses your cheek, a sincere look in his eyes.

♥︎ he gently reassures you that it is ok and he does not mind & if anything it’s just a learning experience for him to soothe your worries. despite his discomfort of the smell of the blood killing his nostrils, he wanted to ensure your own comfort beforehand.

David

Like all wolves, he has a thing for the scent of his mate - except he likes it more than the average wolf.

Hence, when Angel wears his hoodies and gives it back to him in favour of another, he’ll wear it and take a deep breath. The fabric smells like Angel. You’ll see him wearing this hoodie for the next few days. Especially at work when Angel’s not there with him.

This works the other way too - after Angel wears his hoodies, they’ll smell a little like him, and this awakens something in David. He’s let them wear his clothes ever since, enjoying the way they smelled like they were his when he’d pull them in for a hug and nuzzle their neck.

During spicy time he’ll make sure to leave hickeys all over their body, and at least one in a place that’s hard to cover up - probably the neck. He loves seeing his mate like this - marked as his for any prying eyes to see.

In the mornings if David sees the mark on their neck start to fade, he’ll give it a little nibble to leave a fresh one on top. Angel loves to wake up to this, and David knows, especially as they’ll roll over with a wide smile and kiss him on the lips after.

Asher

He’s not one to be too possessive, so I don’t think he has the tendency to be marking his mate.

But when he’s really into it, once in a while he’ll leave hickeys on Babe’s neck and chest. He smiles at the feeling of his wolf lighting up in delight seeing those marks on them. But he doesn’t necessarily feel the need to mark them to show that they’re his.

Rather, he plays with their hand and nibbles on their arm when they watch a movie or play games together, so Babe will frequently have marks, but it’s just from Asher’s mindless gnawing.

Asher absolutely loves Babe’s scent and will nuzzle them like a cat when they come in, especially when they’re sweaty. Babe tries to push him away but he’s strong, and he rolls around and on top of them like he’s on catnip or smth.

I think he likes having matching accessories and items with them! Their house is full of matching keys, cups, remotes, etc. Especially with remotes - Asher has the blue one and Babe had the red one when they play the Switch. They refuse to swap. That reflects other matching objects they own too - Asher will take the blue version of it and Babe takes the red.

Milo:

Big scent man. He loves gifting luxury perfumes and colognes but will heavily dilute them so that it doesn’t cover his mate’s smell. He’ll use the same one when they go out, so they’re wearing matching scents and he can still smell SH’s natural scent in the midst of it.

He’s less of a biter. Likes to keep their skin immaculate and will give them skincare for skincare date nights.

So what does he do? 🤔

Accessories. Matching bracelets, matching rings, matching necklaces, matching outfits. It’s an easy visual way to show that they belong to each other.

In addition to their wedding ring they bought each other, they also have matching bracelets that they never take off.

I think Aggro’s the one that physically marks SH more than Milo lol.

But when Milo takes on a dom role in the bedroom, you bet he’ll be kissing and biting every inch of their skin 😏. It’s a rare treat as it’s not something he does every time, and it drives them both crazy over each other. Always followed by proper skin care ofc.

Super possessive of Sam. Sam’s the laid back one.

Plus, if you're picturing it the way I do with Darlin being the one to rest on David, they initiated the contact. Which leads to David's tail wagging more than he wants it to, so he bites it and grumbles at them but makes no effort to get them off.

Random Shaw Pack Headcanons

✩ Asher and Angel call each other increasingly strange versions of bro - broseph, brotato chip, broceratops, etc. every time they see each other

✩ Sam has a weighted highland cow plushie with its own tiny flannel that Darlin cuddles with anytime they’re apart for extended periods

✩ Since the first time David shifted for Angel, he’s come to openly enjoy being pet, scratched, belly rubbed, etc. while shifted

✩ Asher is surprisingly good at putting eyeliner on himself and others without stabbing them in the eye. He’s tried teaching the other pack members with varying levels of success

✩ Milo has gotten so used to calling Aggro his son that he accidentally convinced Colm he had a biological child

✩ Darlin headbutts Sam when they want attention, usually his shoulder/upper arms

✩ Asher is a huge advocate for platonic affection - hugs, hand holding, cuddling, kisses - anything he can get

The text had come in hours ago.

Just a single word.

“Sorry.”

Sam had stared at it for longer than he wanted to admit, thumb hovering above his screen, jaw clenched. Something about it was wrong. Not just the word—everything. The silence after. The emptiness it carried.

He hadn’t been able to sit still after that.

Now he stood outside Darlin’s apartment, heart in his throat. The scent hit him first—through the wood, through the lock—faint but wrong. Wrong in the way that made his cold blood lurch inside him.

Fear.

He knocked once. No answer.

“Darlin’?” he called, loud enough to echo down the hallway.

Still nothing.

He didn’t wait after that. He shoved the door open.

It wasn’t just the smell. It was the stillness. Everything inside felt frozen—like time had stopped, like the world had paused in the middle of a scream.

“Darlin’!”

He found them in the bathroom.

On the floor. Slumped against the side of the tub. A puddle of sick soaking into their shirt. A half-empty bottle of cheap liquor on the counter. Pill bottles scattered across the tile like bones.

Sam’s heart stopped. Then roared to life.

He was on the floor beside them in seconds, hands shaking as he cradled the back of their head. “Hey—hey, hey, breathe, come on, you’re okay, stay with me—”

Darlin’ coughed, a wet, broken sound, and more bile splattered down their front. Their whole body trembled, weak and limp in his arms.

“No—n-no, Sam—” Their voice cracked, hoarse and slurred. “Don’t… don’t tell David—please—please don’t tell him—”

“Shhh. Shhh, don’t do that,” Sam whispered, holding the back of their neck, fingers glowing with barely restrained healing magic. “Don’t waste breath beggin’ me, you’re okay—you’re okay—I’ve got you—”

“I didn’t mean to,” Darlin choked out. “I just… I wanted it to stop. Just for a minute.”

Sam’s heart shattered in slow motion.

The magic pulsed from his palms into their spine—gentle, like warm water washing over frayed nerves. Not enough to burn through the pain, but enough to steady them. Enough to keep their heart from giving out.

They gagged again, and he held them upright while their body purged what it could. When it passed, they collapsed into his chest, breath shallow and uneven.

“Don’t tell him,” they whispered again, barely audible. “He’ll hate me. He’ll think I’m weak.”

Sam gritted his teeth, rage burning behind his ribs—not at them, never at them—but at the world, at the people who made Darlin’ believe that pain made them lesser. That survival was something shameful.

“I’m not gonna tell him,” he said, softer now. “Not unless you want me to. This isn’t about David. This is about you.”

They whimpered—just a small, wounded sound—and Sam pulled them closer, sitting back against the wall and letting them curl into him.

“I’m sorry,” they said again, voice breaking.

“Stop apologizin’. You’re not a crime scene. You’re not broken.��� His fingers threaded through their hair, brushing back sweat and tears. “You’re just tired. And fuck, I get it. But don’t scare me like that again, Darlin’. Please.”

“I didn’t think you’d come.”

That broke something inside him.

He let out a breath like a punch to the chest, leaned down, pressed his forehead to theirs. “You texted me one word and I ran here like the goddamn building was on fire. You think I wouldn’t come?”

“I don’t know,” they whispered. “Sometimes I think people only stay when I’m doing okay. When I’m easy to love.”

Sam exhaled slowly, struggling to keep his voice level. “You’re not easy to love right now. You’re hard to love, Darlin’. But I’m still here. Not ‘cause you’re perfect, not ‘cause you’re calm or quiet or fixed. I’m here because you’re you.”

Silence fell between them. Thick. Heavy. Honest.

Darlin’ shifted, fingers curled into the front of his shirt like they were still falling. “My head hurts,” they muttered, eyes half-lidded.

“Yeah. That’ll happen when you take a bunch of shit that was never meant to be in your system.” He let his hand hover over their stomach, breath steadying. “I’m gonna heal you. More this time. It’s gonna feel like you’re burning from the inside for a second, but it’ll flush the rest out. You with me?”

A slow nod.

Then the glow intensified.

Darlin’ tensed in his arms, gasped. A rush of warmth and pressure tore through them like wildfire, and they cried out, gripping him tighter. He whispered through it, grounding them, anchoring them. His voice was low, steady, even when his own eyes stung.

It passed. Eventually.

Their body went limp again—lighter now, less sick. Just… empty.

“Sam…” Their voice was thinner now. Fragile. “If I hadn’t texted you…”

“Don’t,” he cut in, eyes sharp. “Don’t say it. You did text me. And I came. That’s what matters.”

Darlin’ blinked, tears welling again. “You shouldn’t have to deal with me like this.”

Sam stared at them, unblinking. “Deal with you?”

“Like this. Messed up. Scared. Crying on the bathroom floor.”

He huffed a humorless laugh. “Darlin’, I’d take a hundred nights like this over a single day where I don’t know if you’re okay.”

They buried their face in his chest again.

And this time, he didn’t say anything. He just held them, until their breathing evened out, until their hands stopped shaking, until the apartment smelled more like healing than blood and shame.

Until they believed—for even just a moment—that they were allowed to fall apart without being left behind.
