Happy Holidays! For me, it's been a crazy holiday season!! Im glad it's over and I finally had some time to sit and relax at my easel as I begin a new year of art discovery and exploration.
This is something I've been working on but didn't want to post it or share the title ok Facebook because it would spoil the subject of it. So here's the full picture for Tumblr! I can't wait to post the whole thing! It'll likely be the first painting finished in 2024!

#i could play whenever i want but shh i miss it still#like right now the character creation theme is stuck in my head. dark souls. oooooouuu#if i could live anywhere within the world of videogames i've played#i'd like to live in the darkroot garden/basin#it's so nice so pretty so lush 🌿🍃🌙#i am kinda stuck bc in my current playthrough i have to go either into new londo ruins or the tomb of the giants#scary (<- has been playing a literal horror game instead of DS)#maybe i'll give it a go again later :p

just found the ash lake in ds1 for the first time. god damn.
#wheeltext#dark souls posting#like i had found the great hollow but i forgot to actually gonna through it#its insane to me how there are still things i havent seen in ds1 like i know i havent finished the dlc but in the main game??#anyway ash lake is fucking beautiful the environment is insane the hydra??? yhe fucking hydra????? i didnt know there was more than one in#the whole game!!! and its mobile???? the bitch jumps????#THE ARCHDRAGON?????#im used to getting spoiled for everything in a souls game at this point so seeing this was nuts it made me so happy#i had also never seen the area in darkroot garden with the red frog mushroom things before which also blew ny mind on a much#much smaller scale#im numero uno thalassaphobe and deep water scares the piss out of me so this area was very effective#the roots/branches you see coming out of the trees way above you look just enough like the hydras heads and tails to make me wonder if#there were more floating above#the skull was kinda weird though#is it supposed to imply there was a before even before the age of the dragons? with big tooth guys#mixed feelings on that but still!!!! exciting!!!!!!!!

Another DS1 update
Artorias of the abyss stuff good
#I like the area layout even if the standard DS1 problems somewhat subsist#the usual problems are significantly smaller here tho#I liked all the bosses too!#well I didn’t care for artorius buffing himself#didn’t like that but otherwise enjoyed it#a really fun contrast to the base DS1 area aesthetic too#looooooooved Royal wood lookin like Darkroot garden and such#chasm of the abyss was also a super cool area#game thoughts

does anybody else end up having certain 'spots' that kind of feel like your own after playing an rpg or open world game for a long time? for example in hollow knight that one bench in greenpath that's kind of hidden with the waterfall in the background is just. Mine. locations I would spawn in if I was a friendly npc and I had a quest for you
#misc.txt#in er if I'm waiting for people to summon me for coop I'll either just hang out at the top of the haligtree bell tower#or in that one cliff in liurnia outside a mine that overlooks the lift (among other places)#and in ds 1 I think I could prob sit at he hidden darkroot garden bonfire for hours#back when I played d2 there were certain spots in the city and on io I would just kind of hang around in occasionally. watch people go by#sometimes you don't want to actually play the video game you just want to appreciate the scenery and sit for a while#cat choosing a windowsill behavior
