The Inheritor // Morrigan - Dragon Age Fan art

Ngl, this was a really difficult drawing for me, I’m not totally satisfied with my colouring. I’ve never been too much of colourist but I’m I am desperately trying to to learn. If you guys have an any tips don’t be afraid to speak up. That aside, I decided to draw one of my favourite DA characters, I really love Morrigan. I think she is such a beautifully complex character. I think about her a lot, and I have many head cannons about her. I sometimes flirt with the idea of making a zine but I have no talent for comics so idk. Regardless, I hope you enjoy. I made like 30 different iterations of this and I need to stoppppppppppppppp

I’m tryna be more active on here, I fully prefer posting art on here than on tumblr or instagram. I hope this blog can become a gallery for my improvement.

Dragon Age Warden Tabris - Speedpaint

The Witch and her Kin.

Experimenting with translating a young morrigan and “younger “, Flemeth to an illustrative style. The results were mixed. It’s my first time drawing Flemeth digitally, rather than putting her into a sketchbook. I liked the way the I drew her face, but the overall composition and texturing of rags was poor. I think when I attempt to draw these characters in the future, I will look into a lineless style and look at ways to portray more believable fereldan clothing.

Also for those wondering; I decided to go with her frail old lady form rather than the more seemingly younger, sexy (?) version for DA2 and DAI since I have a soft spot the classic witch archetype. I like the idea that to most Flemeth seemed be this isolated, corpse-like figure stalking the wilds with a child she once spirited away. Not that the other design is bad, this is just my preference.

Warden Tabris sketches cause I’m taking a break from a portrait I’m doing rn.

Obvs, everyone has their own personal headcannons about their wardens. Though, this option doesn’t exist in game, I like to imagine my character as more akin to a spellsword-type class. I like to think of her fighting style of a mix of warrior and mage - warriors that can use their to mana to create weapons. She mostly uses one handed weapons alongside a spectral weapon, the catch being that members of this class have less destructive power than the typical staff using mage in return for a buffs on speed, constitution and willpower. The role of the spellsword is to be a more bulkier alternative while allowing a debuffed amount of magic. But, for headcannon purposes I’ve decided that my warden in particular uses Rivani magic. Since I am black woman myself, I want my warden to be black woman too and since Rivain has dark skinned population, i like to think Adaya (the canonical mother of tabris) was from there.

It gonna sound kinda odd but visually I imagine the fighting style looking like a cross between sayaka miki from madoka magica and Emily kaldwin from dishonoured 2 but with no teleportation and capped weapon sumoning. Maybe that’s a bit weeby for DA but I do what I want haha.

Currently screaming at this awful drawing I did of Morrigan. According to Instagram, I did this just over three years ago. I’m gonna always look at this when I doubt my ability to improve artistically. I feel like I owe Morrigan an apology because this image is horrific - eek!.
