Another thing I really love about ‘Wynonna Earp’ is that every main or season regular character had a turn at being possessed by either a demon or a witch.
Waverly got Gooverly when she was possessed by the tentacle demon, Mictian. I’m not sure if Dark Angel Waverly is a possession or just Waverly not being in sync with her dark side. I’ll put them here though.
Wynonna got Goononna when Gooverly kissed her and Mictian transferred itself into her body instead.
Nicole got Maeve when her and Doc went to investigate about and find Juan Carlo’s book.
Jeremy got Maeve when she transferred herself into Jeremy’s body when he came to help them out.
Doc got the Clanton heir when Cleo Clanton did her magic-marking voodoo shit on him at the Clantons.
Dolls got Mictian when he was trying to help Wynonna defeat the The Barber revenant way back in Season 1.
Robin got People Tree’d possessed when he ate that disgusting tree sprout thing after getting kidnapped.
All the main or season regular actors got their time to show off their acting chops through possession. Real possession. Not what they do with soulless vampires in ‘BtVS/AtS’ which they call possession but it isn’t.
Emily Andras did not leave anyone out. I love that. It really isn’t a supernatural show without possession. Even Xena did possession even though it’s not supernatural. Only fantasy. But Xena did everything.

The Sister's Waverly and the Tidepools
The thing showed up on the beach when Brin was only small. Globular and wet like a jellyfish, shining from the inside out like a star, broken up with a spine in too many places to count. Brin found it there and placed her hand in the tidepool, cradling the creature’s cheek like she’d seen her sister do to sick farm animals. It blinked and blinked, unable to rise, and she blinked back until someone tore Brin back all at once.
“What are you doing?” her eldest sister growled and shook her. “Do you know what time it is?” Brin let out a small wail and Lori held her close. “Hush. I didn’t mean it. I’m sorry. What is that thing?”
Brin only shook her head. The creature blinked and blinked and her sister gnawed on her lower lip, avoiding its eyes. Loir gently examined Brin’s small hand, turning it over and over in place. The tips of her fingers had turned blue and fingernails loosened.
“Nothing permanent. I think,” she muttered and furrowed her brow. The color returned to Brin’s hands and her eldest sister sighed, still not looking at it, “I suppose I’ll tell the others.”
Waverly, the second oldest, was still awake and standing near the beach. She offered to get a shovel. Del was in bed but not sleeping and Etta appeared like a mirage from the attic. Tidying, she said, or something of the like.
Del cried when she heard about a monster on the beach. Waverly held the shovel high, threatening to bury it. The eldest, Lori, marched them all out just before dawn and they all took note.
“Does it talk?” asked Del, whimpering.
“Will it die?” said Waverly.
And Lori grabbed fistfuls of her own hair and yanked. “No one else is around for miles. I have a bad feeling. Where is Etta?”
“Right here.” Etta bent down, though she didn't touch the creature. “I’ve heard of this sort of thing. But only in Sugar Tales. The Brother’s something . . .”
Del nearly fainted, “this can’t end well.”
Brin watched on in awe, tingling down her own unbroken spine and unblinking. It was nice to see them all together, somehow. Though they argued over who should run for help–they couldn’t agree on who was fastest or loudest. Was it Lori that could drive a car or Waverly? Del brought up how she had the loveliest voice and they all went to rolling their eyes.
It was, of course, the middling daughter Etta that pointed at the stony ground. “What is that in the other tidepools?”
Brin tripped over her own feet to peak into the nearest puddle and lit up. Ah. So it seemed even angels fell like everyone else, splattering about. Scattered in the pools were white chalky shapes and dark glinting bits. Brin placed them immediately. “It’s from the angel!” she piped up.
“It’s not an angel,” Lori snapped and then drew a deep breath.
“I don’t think it’s a demon either,” Waverly said, carefully, in almost-good-humor.
“Whatever it is,” Etta finished the thought, “it’ll probably need these back.”
They went, the daughters of the Crescent Moon farm, from pool to pool. Gathering chunks of chalky white and strands of silver-gray, seashells with strange pink insides and acid-green coral. Shining rainbow scales and bits of glassy black that reminded Brin of deadened teeth or volcanic glass.
The angel, the demon, the thing washed up on their beach seemed happy when the long hair and dark teeth and bits of light were poured into its resting place. The spines slowly unbent and it pushes itself up on arms made of black.
“Don’t look.” Lori covered Brin’s eyes, though everything that would be done already had. Brin pushed her sister’s hand aside at the last moment. The scaled wings spread from the creature’s back, scaly and webbed, and a smile spread across its face so wide Brin had to hold her breath.
It lifted off the ground in a burst of light and was gone in a heartbeat. The light of it shone past the horizon in a way that rivaled the sun. They all exhaled, the girls of the Crescent Moon Farm, and then frowned. Looking at our hands, examining our fingertips and wondering allowed.
“Where is Del?” Though, that wasn’t the right question. Del was right there. “Where is Brin?” That wasn’t quite right either. It was only once the delivery boy came, carrying their morning milk and eggs, did they see.
“Hello there little one, are you visiting your cousins?” he cooed to the small child, “you look so alike!”
“No, no, I am Brin. Brin.”
The delivery boy only arched a brow and then his expression fell as two more sisters exited the house and then three. Five of them lined up, hungry after a long night, and stared on. The delivery boy dropped his pail of milk and ran. For, of course, there were only two sisters of Crescent Moon Farm, a tiny place left by two dead parents to Brindle Waverly and her sister Loretta.
And maybe angel’s grant wishes, to be less alone, or demons grant horrors of never knowing who you are. If you were Brindle or Loretta or bits of both, scattered from the tidepools before dawn, split into someone entirely new in the wake of the broken god.

Non-Wayhaught, Wayhaught Fics
Ok, I’m back with a random fic thought because my eyes came across this photo right here:
And it got me thinking. We’ve had Nicole possed by a young girl, Waverly as a Dark Angel, Eve disguised as Nicole, Waverly possessed by Mictian in the show. All of these crazy out of world things that we don’t really see too often in fic. I recall reading one Dark Waverly fic that’s out there, My Angel which the bar is now set for high for for how Dark Waverly has been written by byrdistheword91 that I don’t even want to attempt writing the character myself haha. But I think it would be so cool to see other versions of Waverly and Nicole in fic.
We’ve seen werewolves, vampires, monsters, etc. but we haven’t seen them written too much as Eve or Dark Waverly. We’ve seen people write their takes on cannon fics and include the Mictian possession and the Nicole possession, but we haven’t seen much of Eve or Dark Waverly which I think both would be awesome to read more of. Who knows, maybe with the possible appearance of both being in Vengeance or one of them at least mentioned, it might inspire some people to do so.
I don’t really think I’d write them very well but I know that someone out there who has the talent might see this, or someone who might see this will send it to the one friend they know that can. But just know, I can’t be the ONLY one wishing for more non-Wayhaught, Wayhaught Fics or to put it in other words, different personas of Waverly and Nicole.

𝙱𝚊𝚜𝚒𝚌𝚜 ↴ ⌧ Location: Los Angeles, California ⌧ Birthday: August 6, 1988 ⌧ Occupation: Private Investigator (Owner of Operation Waverly with over 12 years experience.)
𝙱𝚊𝚌𝚔𝚐𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍 ↴ It’s common to believe that money can solve anything amongst those in the pursuit of it. However, for those shrouded in financial freedom, they know that this is entirely untrue. The Lockes were no different to this rule. Money opened many doors for the family when others insisted that it was impossible. As a young boy, Waverly was taught the ways of a businessman before he learned to ride a bike or tie his own shoes. A conversation with his father was always baiting him into a life lesson. This all changed after Abigail Locke went missing. Abigail Locke was the second and youngest child.
Christian and Rose dreamed of having the perfect family. Two children, a boy and a girl. And for their son to be the oldest was an absolute sign of fate. The Lockes saw this as a sign of good fortune and for the first eight years of their daughter’s life, it was. Waverly was hassled by his father of course but he knew that it was preparation for the future and stayed obedient. Abigail was doted on by everyone in the family. Rose said time and again that God had taken part of her soul and gave it to her daughter. They were soulmates—always one with the other or in search of their other half.
Waverly was eleven when his baby sister went missing. Their parents surprised them with a trip to a popup carnival. The kids were over the moon. They paired off as they always did. Waverly with their dad and Abigail with their mom. This was how it always was. No one thought that this was the start of a terrible sequence of events. Did fate have a hand in this?
Waverly was over by the dunking station. He had three chances to dunk the man who had goggles on, his trunks drenched in water from earlier submerges. “Now keep your eye on your target,” Christian told him, already delivering a life lesson. But this was as far as it went. Somehow through the noise of the carnival and the laughter and commotion of the attendees, they heard the earth shattering scream of Rose Locke. At the age of eleven, Waverly knew that something horrible had happened. Things started moving in slow motion—his father was already ahead of him, he tried to move but it felt like he was in wet cement. He tried to run faster.
When he caught up to his dad, Christian was consoling Rose. Waverly searched around them for his sister but she was nowhere to be found. “She’s gone! She’s gone! My baby! Someone took my baby!” The pain in Rose’s voice was indescribable but it broke Waverly’s heart and he started crying at once. Christian started screaming, “Has anybody seen my daughter?!”
Waverly ran as fast as he could, looking behind booths and tight spaces where she might be hiding. “Have you seen my sister?” He asked every person he passed, tears steadily streaming down his face. “Abigail. She’s eight. She has dark hair and blue eyes. She’s wearing a pink dress!” He kept this going. Asking everyone. He didn’t stop. Even when blue lights began flashing all around the area as the police came.
And this was when the Lockes learned that money is worthless when it matters most. Tirelessly, they searched for Abigail for weeks with no sign of who took her. And then it happened, just weeks before Waverly’s birthday, they received the dreaded call. And life for the Lockes changed forever. His parents split up within three months. Rose fell into a deep depression that drained the life from her entirely. Christian became an alcoholic and soon lost his job. The once proud man now lives off government assistance. At twelve, Waverly became the caretaker for his parents.
This painful loss led him to become a private investigator. His only hope is to help those that the police cannot. He never wants anyone to experience the devastating impact of losing someone forever. He works hard and fast in pursuit of missing persons all while searching for his sister’s killer.

!! BMC Wizards of Waverly Place AU Posting !!
(Original post where I talk about it for the first time)
I got thinking about this au again today, and I think I know of a way I could make the SQUIP the antagonist still while not having it serve as a pill sized supercomputer in Jeremy’s head.
I figure the SQUIP would work best in this case as an external antagonist, or more accurately, a group of external antagonists. I’m not sure what creatures they’d be, but their goal would be unity in the form of conversion and/or extermination. I think it’d be interesting to explore them being angels or dark angels, as the main cast doesn’t have those creatures, but I’m not entirely sure they’d fit. I think it’d be more likely that they’re either mortals that are scared of non-mortals, or they’re wizards that want to control all of the other wizards and mortals and want to get rid of all of the other creatures.
I think either way, in the beginning, it would start as a small group of people that over time continue to recruit like-minded people so that they can gain power, just like how in the original musical, over time it goes from just Rich having a SQUIP to everyone except Michael having one.
Perhaps this would be the event that causes Michael to reveal his wizardry to Jeremy.
If you have any thoughts let me know !

So, I've been coming across a lot of clips of Wizards of Waverly Place on tik tok. I'm sure all the 2000s kids remember that show. Selena Gomez was the ish back then (and she still is). Usually, I would go back and re-watch some episodes just to get that good nostalgic feel. But I REFUSE to watch the later seasons! They just end up getting on my nerves! Plus, my moods are always ruined when Justin Russo shows his face.
Okay, it's mainly the fact that Alex is always getting blamed for almost every single conflict that occurs. I'm not gonna say it's never her fault, cuz she does have her moments, but sometimes when she uses magic, it's mostly with good intentions, just played out wrong. And she usually owns up to her mistakes and makes sure to fix the problem. But it's like, EVERYBODY is ALWAYS calling her out and most of the time, it's not even fully her fault! It gets worse to the point where her own freakin parents start to love her best friend more than their own daughter and they always compare her to Justin, saying that he's a much better kid and he would never cause trouble!! Do they not realize how bad they make her feel when they do that, and they are supposed to be the parents? They're supposed to be more mature and wise for their kids, but all they really do is pick favorites and compare one kid to the other. They rarely even stick up for her or praise her when she really deserved it.
The only traits Alex has that are bad about her are that she's selfish and mean. Like I said, she has her moments, but she has good intentions. She's the main one to fix any problems that occur to the Russos' and was the main one to save the world several times- WHERE'S HER THANK YOU?? She doesn't get one, just more trash talk and finger-pointing from Justin and her parents.
And y'all know Justin always gotta the first to rub it in her face and play the blame game.
Justin wasn't even that bad in the early seasons. I actually tolerated him a little bit (though he still annoyed me). But in the later seasons, he just becomes more selfish, vindictive, antagonistic, and just plain cruel. He didn't even wanna show his full support for his sister when she won wizard of the year. In fact, he was more jealous, berating and disrespecting Alex, complaining that he should've won. But like sir- you don't even deserve that title. Like wha- You put your own family in danger, TWICE!! Not once, but TWICE!! And who was the one to save even you from that danger? ALEX!!
Justin had a crush on a dark angel. Loved her so much, he joined the side of the Angels of Darkness and let them take over. Not only did he put the world in danger, he also put his own family in danger! And all because he was such a simp for this one girl!! And guess who had to save his a**!
There was another situation the Russos' got involved in, and the show makes it seem like it was Alex's fault when Justin was the one that caused the problem. Like that time when Justin revealed to the FBI that wizards exist and that he, along with his family was one of the few. He got NO repercussions for it as far as I've heard. But when Alex is the one to confess to the media that they're wizards, and only to fix the situation that was happening, she is the one to get blamed when originally, Justin was the first to spill the tea.
I could name plenty of more reasons why Justin didn't deserve the wizard of the year award, but those are just my main ones.
I don't think he felt genuinely bad about the way he spoke about her at all. The only time he did feel bad is when it came time for his video about Alex to be shown to everyone during that ceremony. He probably didn't even wanna admit he was wrong for it. He is such a horrible brother!!! He really needed a good talking-to after all that. Theresa and Jerry, that's where you should've come in!
And then we have the finale where they're in the middle of the Wizard Competition. Harper and Zeke get themselves in danger and are captured by a griffin, and who was the main one that suggested they go and save them? Alex! She literally had to beg Justin to help save them, but Justin, being the selfish prick that he is was more concerned about staying in the competition and winning. It is beyond ridiculous that Alex had to beg Justin to save his best friend! Didn't even care that his best friend might die!! By the time they came back, their free time had run out and they got disqualified, losing their magic powers. Leave it to Justin to play the blame game and point fingers at Alex like he always does. He didn't even care that it was a matter of his friends' safety, he cared more about being a wizard and winning a stupid competition. And there was also a scene in that same episode while they were working, Alex was giving someone their order and Justin threw something at her, causing her to drop the order on the customer! Like dude- are you serious?? Are you that pressed???
Theresa, Jerry... do you still think Justin is the better kid? Even after Alex risked her life/her happiness, putting her selfish wants aside to help and save others?
And then there's Max, bro!! For some reason, he starts to gang up on Alex too. Pointing fingers at her as well for doing the right thing. Omg, this girl just can't get enough. And usually, people felt more bad for Max as well, believing he doesn't get enough appreciation and recognition as a wizard in the family, but he really annoyed me in this episode!! He was mainly just following Justin, being horrible to Alex too. Even if he didn't get to keep his powers, I didn't feel bad for him one bit! It's not like he was gonna win the competition or keep his powers anyway and he probably knew that!!
What made me more pissed is that Theresa and Jerry didn't even stick up for Alex. They see that Justin and Max are ganging up on her, belittling her and just letting it happen. Then saying stuff like, "You guys seriously need to get it together and stop all this fighting!"
You guys??! Alex is the victim here! She did not deserve any of this disrespect! She was casually working and Justin threw something at her because of his resentment, y'know, like a mature adult. And Max came at her just because! Why aren't y'all criticizing Justin or Max for their behavior? They were the main ones acting up!
It doesn't even help that Alex had to be the one to apologize at the end of the episode....
Y'all, Alex was the only one to apologize!!
"Guys, I'm sorry for getting you to help me save our friends from a bloodthirsty monster instead of staying and competing in the competition. Because having our magic and being a family wizard is much more important than Harper and Zeke's safety."
She didn't say those exact words, but she might as well have. I don’t understand how Alex could put up with all that disrespect. If I was her, I probably would’ve left the family and probably never come back. I might just make a fanfiction about that.
I feel like I can point out plenty of reasons why the show just faltered a little to me, but Imma just leave it at that for now. All in all, Justin's a horrible brother and a horrible character. Max, I agree he deserves better too, but he mainly just got on my nerves that one episode. Teresa and Jerry are terriblev parents and didn't raise their kids right. Alex especially deserved better and Harper is the realist, point blank.

My Angel
by byrdistheword91
When Nicole swore to become the Angel's Shield, Waverly wasn't the only one rescued from the Garden. What starts as a proposition born of necessity becomes a unique connection between a powerfully fierce angel and a powerfully loyal human. A multi-chapter exploration of WayHaught and how the Angel factors into their relationship.
With smut.
There's gonna be smut.
And maybe some cute moments too, because Nicole and the Angel are adorably awkward.

But what about the shot with Waverly choking Nicole?
That was not sexy choking.
Does she get possessed again?
Or is Nicole possessed again?
Why are they attacking each other?! 😳
My guess is vengeance lady is a vampire and she did her compelling shit on Waverly and probably Nicole.
Made them attack each other.
Because there’s also that shot where vengeance lady touches Waverly’s face… and yeah, I feel like they both got glamoured. And to get out from under the compulsion they have to invoke Dark Angel Waverly and the Angel’s Shield. That’s how they get those individual character arc storylines to be involved.

7 minutes in Paradise 💖
POV: Maxxine
Dear Diary,
Today was my first day of high school and it was even fun, the teachers were more open to discussions and the classes were more interesting, I had a lot of fun, which was pretty strange considering that nobody likes school, I went to only student who came from my old school to Waverly Highschool so I didn't have any friends, I spent my lunch reading in a corner of the cafeteria since I didn't know anyone and it seemed like everyone already had their classes, I didn't want to be the fish out of water, but anyway that's how I felt, but it was good, cutting out the part where I got confused and ended up going into the boys' bathroom 🙄, but on the other hand I ended up meeting the most handsome boy I've ever seen in the world, he's tall very tall guy with a perfect smile blue eyes and dark hair i think he must be a senior but i didnt like what i saw him doing he was smoking obviously something about him had to be wrong there is no such thing as perfect 🤭, we stare at each other Walking for a few seconds was when he interrupted the silence and said in a hoarse voice:
_ Are you lost? - Soon I could see that he wasn't from here, because his voice had a different intonation, so I accidentally walked back and looked around realizing where I was, I felt my face turn red and I just apologized and left in a hurry hearing the door slamming behind me me, I felt weird and at the same time good, I went to class since the bell rang and I didn't want to take detention on my first day, but that boy's look and his low and husky voice didn't leave my thoughts.
POV Gael:
I was so pissed off about a little argument I had with my "girlfriend" Hannah about going to yet another stupid prom at that damn school that always had this crap all year long, it was summer prom, winter prom and all, and Hannah wanted to it's in everyone, because I liked being the queen of them all, I don't even know why I was still dating the girl, she was boring and tiring, but I think it was because of the sex, I don't know, she told everyone that we were dating, but for me she was just another one i f*cked whenever i felt like it but i didn't care about her at all, i needed a cigarette and i went to the bathroom praying they wouldn't catch me since it was raining. I took my pack of cigarettes put one in my mouth and lit it, took a deep drag and let it out, I automatically felt myself relax, I stood next to the half-open window and tried to blow all the air out there, I took out my cell phone to see if there were any messages or calls lost from my friend Johnny, when I was surprised by a girl who entered a bit bewildered, we stared at each other, she was simple, but filled the space with her angelic beauty, so without thinking too much I asked if she was lost, she in turn just stuttered something that I understood as "sorry" and he left the door almost running, when he knocked on the door I noticed that something had fallen out of his backpack, it looked like a keychain, I took another deep drag and threw the cigarette still halfway through the window and walked to the door and I bent down, I picked up the key chain, it had some keys and a teddy bear ornament that was old and a little worn, but it smelled like a soft sweet perfume, I put it in my pocket when I sit down my phone vibrates and I took it out of my pocket , it was a message from Johnny, I opened it and started reading it as I walked out the door and walked to American history class, but as I walked and thought about what to reply I thought of the blonde girl, medium height and big eyes who looked at me so deeply.

Wings of an Angel
read it on the AO3 at https://ift.tt/YxZ8Nsd
by DragonBinx
Waverly thought if her angel side every came around again, it would be a lot more deadly. There would be a crisis; the Garden would show up again or a big bad demon or something, and the dark angel version of Waverly would be summoned like some badass heavenly emissary to smite evil doers without mercy or consideration of her loved ones, and possibly try to leave all earthly tethers behind. Again.
What actually happened was that on their two month wedding anniversary, they were trying to celebrate, naked, when Nicole bit down on that sensitive spot on Waverly's collarbone and a single wing sprung from her back and broke their lamp.
Waverly wings start popping back up. Literally.

So here’s the thing. Waverly destroyed Jolene. So does that mean that the only reason why Waverly was the way she was was because Jolene was around? Jolene said they were connected. Like they were twins that were connected at birth. So Jolene in a way balanced Waverly and Waverly balanced Jolene.
So is the only reason why Waverly became Dark Angel Waverly because Jolene had finally been destroyed? Meaning Waverly had no balance anymore until Nicole requested to go in her place as the protector of the Ghost River Triangle in every realm and dimension by sacrificing herself to become the Angel’s Shield.
I love the sacrifice sentiment of course but I still don’t really understand what the lore is surrounding all of this. Jolene’s goal was to bring out the dark power in Waverly. I don’t think she expected Waverly to destroy her when she achieved that goal. And the entity to come from that event of destruction was Dark Angel Waverly - who is nothing like Waverly. She was the direct opposite in personality in fact. Bound by a sense of duty to return to the Garden, she didn’t care at all. So I just don’t really understand the lore of Dark Angel Waverly nor Jolene’s motive for bringing out Waverly’s dark side so that she would become that.
The only thing I can think of was even though Jolene was a demon that latched on to Waverly at birth, that Jolene became Waverly’s balance so that her dark side never had a way out. Meaning it was not Jolene that made Waverly dark. She was naturally that way.
It seems to me that Jolene’s motive - regardless what that meant for her fate - was to make Waverly like her so that she would lose the love and support of others.
But sike…. The only reason why Waverly wasn’t was because Jolene was what prevented that very goal because it wasn’t until Waverly destroyed her that Waverly fully turned into Dark Angel Waverly. Without Jolene’s dark there to balance Waverly’s light, Waverly couldn’t actually be the Waverly we all know and love because “the Universe craves balance”… which is even reiterated by Cupid (a literal Angel) in ‘Love’s All Over’.
That’s the only thing I can think of. I’m at a loss otherwise. Someone needs to explain the Angel lore and what it means for both Waverly and Nicole now because all we know is that Dark Angel Waverly is at bay for now because of Nicole’s efforts to sacrifice herself in place of her as the protector of the Ghost River Triangle by becoming the Angel’s Shield and that because she’s the Angel’s Shield, she can’t leave Purgatory. Can Waverly leave Purgatory though?
There’s a lot left open-ended with all this that I hope they will address in Vengeance for the both of them.
Failing that… I might have to find a way to pick Emily Andras’ brain because she’s the one that wrote all this. She knows what the lore actually is and how it works. For now, the only thing I can think of is that because Jolene was destroyed, Dark Angel Waverly emerged. But then, because Nicole sacrificed herself in place of Waverly, Dark Angel Waverly was subdued for the time being. Quite possibly up until Nicole would die. So if anything - if they wanted Dark Angel Waverly to return in Vengeance… then Nicole would have to die for it.
I’m not sure I’m okay with that. But if that’s what Vengeance is about then…. Perhaps that’s the lore behind this whole thing. Waverly’s entire story arc.
It’s not a person or an entity that wants Vengeance.
It’s the Garden of Eden because Waverly got a freebie through Nicole’s sacrifice. She got a way out of her responsibilities as the fail safe. And it wants revenge.

Morning angsty thoughts
Sometimes, mostly when I am trying to work out something story related, I wonder about that strange, nebulous thing that is time in Wynonna Earp. It helps the show in a way that there are so little specific time markers to age up but goddamn, it makes it pretty frustrating when trying to write something.
I, and I feel a lot of people, mark time in the show by what years the season came out… “season 3, okay, Wynonna is 29 now” that kind of thing. In reality, we just don’t know as episodes that set the time of year are few.
There could be more but…
1x01 – It’s Sept 12th, we know this because Wynonna turns 27.
2x12 – Alice is born but there is (as far as I can remember) no mention of a date.
3x06 – It’s Christmas… what year, we don’t know.
3x12 – Waverly and Doc get snatched and taken to the garden and they don’t return until 4x02 over 18 months later.
4x08 – Halloween.
Then there is Vengeance where we learn that there has been somewhere over 5 years since 2x12 as Alice is 5. Proving that time isn’t passing to our time as 2x12 aired in 2017.
What does this all mean? Bugger all. I just woke up and got depressed thinking about poor Nicole having to spend Christmas alone. It made me think about those 18, nearly 19 months without her baby and how many holidays and special events she was alone.
18 months without her friends and family. Waverly, Wynonna and Doc were lost and she was left clinging to hope that Wynonna would be able to bring them all home. Nedley was, as far as she knew, dead. Jeremy had abandoned her. The people she had sworn to protect turned their backs on her. Her parents were long out of the picture and the town had been closed off so who knows if she could have called them even if she had wanted to.
That is all bad enough but then there are the markers of time that we didn’t get to see… how many of her own and Waverly’s birthdays did she mark off on the calendar. And you know damn well that someone like Nicole would probably breeze past their own but celebrate Waverly’s in some way because everyone else seemed to forget it.
Did she decorate the homestead for Christmas because Rachel was there and find the tampon angel tucked away in a box?
Vengeance ended with Waverly going off, assumingly before Christmas? Who can tell what time of year it was with the wonderful weather of Canada… from what I, a Brit can make out, snow can happen almost year round there o.O
Randy and Mercedes were ice fishing though and he ended by saying that fishing season was over which, after a quick google, that can end any time around March so is Waverly going to be gone over a year!?
Can their marriage survive that amount of time, hell yeah, that I don’t doubt. Like Wynonna said to Waverly, Nicole isn’t selfish. What I do worry about, even with Wynonna and Nedley there to help (and possibly Rachel wherever she is) is Nicole’s mental health. Anyone watching the show for the first time with Vengeance doesn’t know any of what happened before. They don’t know about that time apart or that Nicole can’t leave Purgatory because she swore to be its shield. If Waverly gets in trouble while she’s helping Jeremy, Nicole can’t do anything other than sit and wait again.
Okay, after that little dip into my angst filled waking thoughts, I am going to leave my rambling here and go think about how much action those stairs are going to see when Waverly gets home… maybe then they can possibly talk about the K word.
And as a fandom are we thinking Waverly’s reluctance is just that she’s not feeling as maternal (I can relate to that)… childhood trauma… or that she worries about Dark Angel coming out if the kid is being naughty… or what angel genetics could mean for a child if it was part hers?
