The day had been a rather standard and boring one, which only made time tick by that much slower. Optimus has watched the clock in between his rounds; he'd almost wished for decepticon activity at this point, it'd give him some sort of distraction at least.

Finally after what felt like a millennia his shift had ended, the sun just starting to dip in the sky turning the bright blues to a brilliant show of yellows, orange, even pink.

He watched it for a few, taking in the sight and gathering himself before sending the ping out to the Porsche.

Jazz has to chuckle at that. Sideswipe really wants to challenge him to a contest of lyrical knowledge? Jazz doesn’t kid himself into thinking that he has a comprehensive catalogue of music that has been produced on Earth, but he does know his collection is impressive, by any standards.

« Sure, man, I dig that. Can you do me a favour first? I need you to add Prowl or Optimus to this call–I can’t get a lock on their frequencies. »

something clearly crawled up jazz’s crankshaft and died there. that’s the only explanation for the other autobot’s rude response, because sunstreaker hadn’t done anything wrong.

Jazz has been a comfort character since I was 11 and first saw him in TFA. He was, back when I was ninja-jazz/autobotsaboteur, originally just a TFA Jazz before I branched out into more of the media. 

🟤 Brown - What is a headcannon you are particularly proud of?

The HC I’m proudest of is the one that he’s blind and uses his doorwings and visor to “see.” It’s a bit of a variation on a more common headcanon, but I am proud of my tweaks to it. (come to think of it i should prooooobably make a hc page to clear some of that up lmao)

🟢 Green - How far, if at all, do you think you have deviated from cannon?

over the years, what started as small deviations have grown into canyons. I try to keep true to canon, but sometimes you just gotta break away.

Jazz has his communicator set up for inter-universal comms traffic again, and this time instead of pinging any one specific frequency, he’s sending out a general querying signal.

« Hello, hello! Anybot out there lookin’ for an odd job or two? “Have spacesuit–will travel” kinda deal? Lemme know! I got a little somethin’ needs taking care of. »

Fantastic. Now to set his message to repeat, and hope for an answer…

What sort of loose end was this, unraveling from the knotted yarn ball of the multiverse? It’d snagged Tarantulas’s attention for the moment, at least. See, either this mech was too lazy to search for the proper datanet channels on which to post his request, or he didn’t know any better - and judging by the use of the word “spacesuit” and the obvious identifiers linked to the comm signal, Tarantulas would guess the latter. This mech was no multiversal veteran, that was for sure.

...Or maybe this was a mysterious trap, some kind of bait? That was always an option. Sounded like something Tarantulas might do, honestly.

All the more reason to poke about, then. He’d had a lot going on recently, almost too much and yet somehow not enough, and it left him eager for a palate cleanser. It’d be a good distraction regardless of how it panned out.

Now, to track down the signal... which was suspiciously unguarded in most respects, now that Tarantulas got a good look at it. Primax cluster, Alpha stream, coordinates right down to the surface of the planet Earth, tagged as the Autobot Jazz. This was too simple, too simple. Now, to actually locate the mech in person and make a quick scan of their environment before dropping in...

Dragonsbane will sometimes stare at Jazz a little too long from across the room.

She’s trying to make a needle felted doll of him, now that she’s finished Sideswipe’s, but she can never remember the colors of the graphic on his hood, and has to keep looking for reference.
