Gary watched as John walked over the Keurig Gary had insisted on getting for the House. “How many coffees is that?”

“You try having a toddler who refuses to go to bed?” John grumbled as he rested his head on the counter. “I know she’s not going to go down easy tonight.”

“UNCA JOHN, COME ON!” a shriek comes from the living room.

“We’ll be there in a moment,” John shouted back, then looked down at the slow trickle pouring into the cup. “Come on, you.”

“Talking isn’t going to hurry it up,” Gary smiled as he turned the faucet off and set the last dish in to dry. “I can’t say the same for Natalie.”

“She’s all Ray, that one.”

“She really is,” Gary agreed. “Hey, I can put her to bed tonight. I’ve got experience with toddlers. I dealt with my little brother growing up, and I deal with dragging you to bed enough of the time now.”

John snorted a chuckle, right into the hot coffee. “You’re on the couch.”

“Are you banishing me from the bedroom?” 

“Wha’s banishing?” Natalie Palmer stomped into the kitchen. “You said you were coming.”

“And we are,” John promised. “Uncle Gary is just calling me a toddler.”

“Mama calls you a big baby.”

Gary clapped a hand over his mouth to stop from laughing out loud.

Nora rocking or getting their daughter to sleep with the ole bounce and jiggle and she starts singing to her to help her sleep and Ray watches without Nora knowing and they’re they’re soft about being parents.

“Come on, baby girl” Nora pleaded quietly to the wailing of her daughter that echoed through the dimly lit room. There was no feeling more heart wrenching or made her feel more hopeless than hearing her own child crying and being completely baffled as to how to soothe her. This wasn’t the first sleepless night, and she had no doubt that it wouldn’t be the last. She’d read all the books on parenting and went to all the classes but none of it really prepared her like the real thing.

A thought struck her as she moved to shift the infant to rest on her side. “How about Mommy sings you a song?” She smiled hopefully and began humming the tune of a song she’d heard on the radio earlier in the day. The melody was soon replaced by the few lyrics she could remember, carelessly filling in the gaps with any rhyming nonesense her sleep-deprived brain could conjure. Her daughter wasn’t even three months old yet, she didn’t care if the song made sense.

The new strategy seemed to work and the ear-splitting sobs dissolved into gentle breathing. Nora smiled fondly as she carefully lowered her daughter back into her crib. After taking a step back, she turned on her heel and gasped, shocked suddenly by the shape of her husband stood in the doorway.

“How long have you been there?” Half-angry that he’d managed to surprise her and half-joyful to see him stood looking so content, she crossed the room into his arms.

“Since the second verse.” She could hear the amusement in Ray’s voice as he pulled her close to his chest and placed a kiss on top of her head. “Hey, you’re really good at this, you know.”

“Hmm...think I missed my opportunity to be a pop star.”

Ray chuckled quietly, “I didn’t mean the singing, though you do have a beautiful voice. I just meant being a mom, you’re really good at it.”

Nora looked up at him and smiled, “you really think so?” It was a doubt that often lingered, never too far away in the aftermath of new challenges. She would often question if she was really cut out for this, if she would ever be ready.

“I do.” Ray answered simply and pressed another soft kiss to her forehead as she snuggled close, a warm smile spread across her lips.

So after Ray gets un-demonized, and after Nora wakes up, then we get to see them kiss and say “I love you,” right? Right????? I know they just barely got together (if they even are officially “together”), but they were writing letters before that, and they’re just so in love. I think we’re ready.

in which, there’s a darkness spreading through hogwarts and the legends are certain that the route of this whole evil nonsense is coming directly from professor darhk (who despite everyone knowing that he has connections to death eaters, somehow managed not to get rounded up and sent to abandon years ago like the rest of them). and his daughter nora. 

they just havent managed to prove it yet.

enter, ray palmer, the hufflepuff prefect who always believes the best in people. and in this case that means believing that nora isnt actually involved in her dads evil plans to bring a dark wizard back from the dead and take over the world (or whatever it is that sara is insisting that their DADA professor is up to this time). he cant help but see the good inside of her (the good that nora might not even notice within herself)

but things arent always what they seem, which at this point is to be expected at hogwarts. and nora may be the vessel for something stronger than herself, a fate which she’s always known was inevitable, but didn’t think to want to rebel against until a certain someone opened her eyes to the possibilities. 

now working with the legends nora must try to change her fate, while also falling for the boy that has consistently believed in her

84.  The Darhkatom-Baby (Legends of Tomorrow/ The Flash Season 8)

The reason why Ray and Nora left the Legends were questionable at least. A reason that could have made it work would have been a pregnancy. When it become clear that Ray would appear on „The Flash“ during Season 8, we were promised character development, but while we got that, due to story reasons Ray never even interacted with his wife even though they were both part of the „Armageddon“-Event. People, who were expecting a Darhkatom-Baby did not get one on „The Flash“. We did get one however in the „Earth Prime“-Comic Series. But as nice as this is and given the flimsey canon status of these comics, it would have been nicer if we would have gotten this development on screen.

characters:

1. charlie - i could go on about charlie's storyline for Days,, i just,, how did the writers hit upon someone so perfect?? and maisie r-s to boot? hands down the best character

2. ava - my personal baby lmao. hey i just love a bureauocracy nerd!! and the Growth?? hello??

3. behrad - every episode i love him more. just. his everything. how kind he is. he has such nice eyes. i love him

4. z2 - i'm Loving how much depth the writers gave to z2, she could have just been a vapid influencer but they're taking the time to develop her (and they better keep doing it!!)

5. kendra - a one season wonder, and that is a Travesty. i think she's gorgeous and the wings?? hello?? learning to move beyond her own destiny was so cool. i miss u every day bb

1. avalance, obvs, but i'm a sucker for canon lmao. i've also dedicated like,, three years to cheerleading for them and its so nice to see the show repay us in such great character moments

2. darhkatom - a suprising second seeing as i don't really vibe with ray, but i def found the best of him when he was with nora,, and their chemistry? unreal (yes i know theyre married irl lmao)

3. zarlie - what we could have Had, oh man. everyday i curse the cw for nuking this, and i will only forgive them when they drop the zarlie tapes

4. steelhacker - i like them! i think theyve def grown on me over the seasons, and i hope theyre endgame honestly

5. esperastra - oh, an ode to what we could have had if the cw weren't a bunch of cowards huh.

1. behrad + nate - okay well. i also ship them romantically, but they didn't make the top 5, so they go here. i just love. them boys.

2. sara + mick - i love their implicit understanding with eachother, mick will stand back to let sara go fucking feral on some goons, and sara will just let mick be when he needs to. stoic buds lmao

3. behrad + charlie - friends with benefits to friends dynamic?? hello?? i Love. it's the worlds biggest shame we never saw more of these two together

4. z2 + ava - okay so i Also ship them romantically, but as i've established, the cw are cowards, so i'll just enjoy their friendship very much. if we don't get z helping ava get ready for her wedding day then i will Fight

5. sara + rip - less a brotp and more that,, their dynamic,, it was so incredibly interesting. i find it amazing how the show had their storylines run semi paralell to eachother,, and when they worked together? stunning. the bank scene and the dancing scene ?? hello?

“Well why didn’t you say something?” Ray picks up his wife and carries her to the couch.

Nora laughs. “RAY I’M SIX MONTHS PREGNANT DON’T!” There is no real threat in her voice.

Ray grins and settles into the couch. “Well you can’t drink might as well go overboard with the cuddling.

Nora grins and he puts on a silly show from her childhood. They sit there, paying more attention to if they can feel the baby kick or not than the show but neither of them care.

“You know... Ava and Gary are determined to get her to kick for them. I think they have a bet going.”

Ray chuckles and kisses her shoulder. “Well she’s stubborn like her mom so I think she’ll be rather choosey.”

Nora swats him playfully. “Oh stop you leave my friends alone.”

“It’s okay, Behrad and Nate are trying to fight over who will be godfather.”

Nora gets quiet.

“What?”

“I was actually umm wondering if Gary could be?”

Ray smiles and kisses her cheek. “I think that sounds wonderful.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.”

how good do you think the legends are at babysitting each other’s kids? who spoils them the most? who doesn’t like kids?

Mick is obviously the best babysitter and everyone loves their uncle Mick and Cousin Len (a boy he accidentally adopts but like we'll talk about that later)

Ava is sort of okay with it, she's better with her own kids but Avery (Ray and Nora's youngest) ADORES her.

Sara's a great aunt, everyone loves her

John and Gary are better uncles than they are parents. Like, they love the kids and are okay with them but they wouldn't have any of their own, I think.

Zari and Nate are the mischievious ones who teach the children how to be pranksters with help of Charlie.

Charlie is the PARTY ONE OF THE BUNCH. Like, when the kids are old enough to drink, she'll give them pointers on how to cure a hangover.

Ray and Nora are good with kids, of course Ray is but it surprises everyone that Nora is. She holds a child once and gets giggled at which she's like "w h a t is t h i s" and lets tiny hands play with her hair and she'll use her magic to help them float.

John isn't allowed to do that after the incident which involved Charlie, Zari and a very confused pig.

Legends is literally ending with a comic that announces a DarhkAtom baby so who is the real winner here (it's me)

Fluff: Nora and Ray going out for ice cream after they kid gets their shots. All parties are a little frazzled and thankful it’s over.

“We’ll see you in September.”

“Thank you,” Nora took the card from the nurse at the front desk and turned back to her family. “Ready to go.”

“I...think so,” Ray agreed, adjusting Natalie in his arms. “This little one is.”

Their daughter sniffled and clung tighter to her father. Nora rubbed Natalie’s back as they left the doctor’s office. She had never anticipated how rough check-ups would be for parents. She’d never liked getting shots when she was Natalie’s age either. But seeing her kid scream and cry hurt, even though she did need the shots for when she’d start school.

“I don’t wanna be a doctor anymore,” Natalie pouted through her tears as they strapped her into the car seat. 

“That’s okay,” Ray said as he got into the driver’s seat. “You have plenty of time to decide what you want to be.”

“Can I be a lizard?”

Nora stifled a laugh. “You can be anything you want. Are you feeling any better?”

“It still hurts.”

“It will for a while,” Ray told her, pulling out of the parking lot. “But those vaccines are going to be a big help to you in the future. They’ll protect you against certain diseases.”

“You know,” Nora turned around. “When I was little and I got shots, my parents took me to get ice cream afterwards. It helped with the pain.”

“Really?”

“Mmhmm,” Nora nodded, thinking about one of the few happy childhood memories she had. “I always got cookies and cream. It was delicious.”

The car came to a stop at a red light and Ray turned towards her. “We can always go out for some right now.”

“Are you sure?” she asked. “We’re not too far from home.”

“Have you got anything else going the rest of the day?”

She shook her head. There were no new charges that had come up yet. “You?”

“I took the day, so I’m in the clear. No place I need to be. How do you feel about stopping by Poppy’s?”

Nora thought about it for a moment. “They do have excellent cookies and cream there. What do you think, Nattie? How does ice cream sound?”

“Yay!”

Nora smiled as Ray changed lanes so he could get them to Poppy’s. She did not have a lot of good memories from her childhood. However, she was glad she could share one thing that had been nice from it with her husband and her daughter.

6 + darhkatom?

6.  “I think I can feel them kicking!”

Being a fairy godmother is exhausting, but being a pregnant fairy godmother is exhausting with an extra pile of sleep deprived on top. Some kids are better about taking it easy on than others, and thankfully those who aren’t so good on their own about taking it easy on her are usually ok if she reminds them. Those who aren’t, well they usually need to learn patience anyway.

Her latest charge is a little girl named Aaliyah, who happens to be one of those charges she ends up bringing home with her for a couple days. She’s a sweet kid, one who is completely enthralled with the idea of a baby, so convincing her to spend the afternoon sitting on the couch watching Frozen 2 was easy enough once Nora told her she could rub her belly.

She warned Aaliyah the baby isn’t moving much yet, and so she won’t feel it. It is moving of course, a lot these days, but she hasn’t been able to feel it with her hands yet and neither has Ray. Aaliyah wasn’t so easily dissuaded though, and now that they are well into the movie Nora has honestly stopped noticing the feeling of a little arm draped over her midsection.

That is, until an excited little squeak snaps her focus off the movie.

“I think I can feel them kicking!” Aaliyah exclaims, looking up at her with a toothless grin.

Nora is about to tell her no, it’s all in her head, but then she notices that she also feels the baby kicking, and it is right in the spot where Aaliyah has pressed down both her hands.

“I think you’re right.” She says, dumbfounded, and at her confirmation that she is indeed feeling the baby kick Aaliyah bounces to her knees.

She chuckles as she watches the little girl, so excited over a baby she doesn’t even know, and she blinks a tear from her eyes.

“I wish Ray was here.” She says without thinking, because he is going to be SO upset he missed the first detectable kicks from their baby.

“I do too!” Aaliyah screeches, stretching herself up so she can looks Nora in the eye, and she blinks at her, dumbfounded.

“What?”

“I wish he was here too!” Aaliyah happily chirps. “He’s your husband, I want him to come feel the baby kick too! I wish it! Please fairy godmother? I wish your husband was here.”

She can’t help but to laugh as her wand materializes in her hand, and as she waves her arm to grant the wish Aaliyah falls back onto her legs, grinning and bouncing on the cushion of the couch and then, in a cloud of blue fairy dust, Ray appears in the center of the room.

“Nora?” He asks, and he’s holding half a sandwich, which makes her think the emergency mission might have been wrapping up, so at she didn’t catch him at a bad time.

Before she can explain herself, however, Aaliyah leaps from the couch and races to grab him by the hand.

“The baby’s kicking!” She shouts, pulling on him with all her might, her little feet tripping over themselves as she yanks him to the couch and all but forces him to plop down. “Come on! The baby’s kicking!”

Ray looks 110% confused by all of this, and Nora supposes that’s fair.

“Aaliyah felt the baby kicking.” She explains, while the little girl in question bounds over to her other side and places her hands on her stomach, searching again for the baby.

Before Ray can have a chance to process that Aaliyah squeals again.

“I found them!” She announces, and then she reaches over Nora (nearly falling over her in the process) and grabs Ray’s hand and yanks it to the spot. “See?”

Judging by the pure elation on his face, he does see.

“I do.” He confirms, and Nora giggles. After a moment spent marveling at her stomach and where his hand is placed he looks up, and leans in to press a kiss to her lips.

Tl;dr Nora cursed Gary a lot but got John and Ray's soul out of hell. Hey world became a thing thanks to Micks journal. Tabitha became lil zari's pet dragon's lunch. Neron is so dead. We saw that Mick does care. We almost lost Nate and did lose Zari, but got her brother apparently.

Wholesome moral: fear can go suck a dick because love is stronger.

Do you think there will be/want a Darhkatom baby or not?

well so far it’s not something we’ve seen ray and nora discussing. nora went from demon vessel to fugitive to fairy godmother. she hasn’t really had a minute to think about her future or decide if that’s something she wants. if it is then i’d love to see it but i wouldn’t be outraged if it didn’t happen. just my opinion, but i think it’d be nice for both of them to just be together without any demon or urgent legends mission or fairy godmother duties getting in the way and leaving to find some peace and quiet together.
