Friends to Lovers

Gameboys the Series. It's no secret that Gavreel had a crush on Cairo from the beginning, but it's not something he tried to force. He was a natural flirt anyway so it was easy to play off. But he did offer Cai the friendship he needed while they both dealt with deaths in their loved ones, loneliness, and the global quarantine. They spoke on video chat all day everyday and quickly became best friends along with their #1 support Pearl. Gav promised to always be the friend Cai needed and Cai reciprocated. And when Cai realized he was in love with Gav he confessed and they grew stronger together. They have such a sweet and soft and moving love story, but were definitely friends first.

Bodyguard

KinnPorsche the Series. Porsche might be the worst bodyguard to ever exist, but hey they twisted his arm and threatened him to get him to take the job so of course he wasn't trying to be his best at first. Porsche is a natural protector though, for the ones he loves. He flew to the top of the class when he felt determined to prove himself to be a good bodyguard and he really did come in clutch for Kinn a few times. But I also just love that Kinn willingly put himself in the line of danger multiple times to protect his own bodyguard. I eat that shit up.

Love Triangle

Light on Me. This series reigns supreme for the Love Triangle trope for me. It was executed perfectly. Woo Taekyung had excellent chemistry with both Noh Shinwoo and Shin Daon. He could've ended up with either one of them and I wouldn't have been mad. I love that Taekyung had such different relationships with both of them. With Daon he was doted on and treated sweetly, he was allowed to be cute and depend on Daon. With Shinwoo there was definitely a more linear playing field between them. Taekyung was more at ease with Shinwoo because they were cohorts. Shinwoo was also painfully honest with Taekyung and I think he liked that. But Shinwoo did something that Daon did not and that was protect Taekyung. Also love that Shinwoo and Daon didn't let their crushes on Taekyung ruin their friendship. They both decide to pursue Taekyung at the same time, but promised not to get in the other's way and by the end of the series everyone was still friends, the student council was still going, and everyone was happy.

Daon nodding after this question was the most selfless thing he’s done after acting so selfish over the course of the last two episodes. Sure, he thought he was acting in a way that was helping both him and Taekyung but, ultimately, it became clear that he was trying to conserve his self image more than he was trying to help Taekyung. While his actions are not malicious and don’t come from an inherent place of harm, Taekyung was inevitably suffering.

The other remarkable thjng about this interaction is how clear and patient Daon and Shinwoo are being with one another. Shinwoo is being open about his intentions, while respecting both Daon and Taekyung’s feelings instead of engaging in a jealous fueled competition with Daon. This occurs the way it does because of how much Daon and Shinwoo actually care about Taekyung. They don’t want him to suffer anymore or put him through the stress of competing for his attention and affection.

And, at the end of the day, Shinwoo and Daon, as friends, want what is best for each other as well, even if it means sacrificing their own happiness in the hopes of maintaining a friendship with not only Taekyung but with each other.

Taekyung burns so bright to those who need someone who understands different, someone who understands what it means not to fit with others.

Taekyung's acceptance and self-love show others what they could do, how they can look at themselves and others.

That's why Shinwoo and Daon have fallen in love with Taekyung but not Nangoong.

Nangoong already loves himself and knows who is.

Shinwoo and Daon are both struggling.

Taekyung is their light in the darkness, the beacon of self-acceptance, self-love and self-understanding.

They circle him, bumping into each other as they do, scrambling to stay close but not too close, to keep that light on them.

Daon and Taekyung are both falling in love and I'm curious to see what will go wrong (if it ever does that is)

Ok so at first I thought Daon wouldn't fall for Taekyung and that's just him being his nice and kind self and our resident cutie would be heartbroken and that's where Shinwoo would swoop in but I was wrong and Taekyung not falling for Daon has been debunked episodes ago. As we're only halfway through the story, what's the conflict going to be? Is Sohee going to drive a wedge between them? Will there be family pressure? Or will Daon just won't be able to be truly honest with himself due to his fear of disappointing others? Or it could just be that Taekyung just has a crush and would soon realize that it was just admiration as Daon is the first person to show kindness and affection towards him. (Shinwoo has as well but his is more subtle and hidden behind tsundere and the walls he's built for himself)

So is it gonna be that his first crush and first love are different as most of the fandom believes? Or is Daon really his first love? Maybe the triangle is a diversion and the mystery love is actually Shiwon that'd be a twist

Maybe we'll all be bamboozled and there's a timeskip to like ten years later and that's when Shinwoo and Taekyung get together 🤷 looking at where your eyes linger
