That’s right! We have changed our name! It was a pretty tough and scary decision, but with the amazing growth and direction business has gone, a necessary one. When I started Skye Wire Designs, it was nothing more than a small hobby Etsy shop aimed at making a little extra income while I was in college. I had no idea it would grow into the business it is today. And as we reach our five-year anniversary (oh hey that’s today too!), it’s become clear that we’ve outgrown our small hobby shop name and need something that better expresses the grown-up business we are today.

So starting today Skye Wire Designs will be known as Daoire, a new name that better represents the company. What is Daoire? Well, if we’re being technical, Daoire is a grammatical form of the word “Daor”, which means slave in Irish. But in the same language, Daoire is also used to describe something of value or something that is dearest to you. And with the significance that a collar can hold in a relationship and how dear the subs who wear them are, we couldn’t think of a more fitting new name.
