This piece was from a few months ago when we filled @danielduganart's piece with freshly ground cannabis flower (yes, of course it was sativa!). Shout-out to @gettingpsyched for hand-filling the laser engraved relief in walnut with the flower. Check out more of Daniel's pieces at: www.danielduganart.com

@danielduganart was one of the first artists that came to us with his already beautiful artwork and ultimately trusted in our ability as a company to experiment with different materials/processes, while still maintaining his artistic message. At Stone Design, we feel that art is always evolving, and this piece is a result of weeks of brainstorming and experimenting. "YES": (2018). This particular piece began as an one continuous line ink illustration by Daniel, and was then transformed digitally into a vector format. This process is tricky, as often times a lot of detail is lost in these steps during the image trace. The acrylic is 1/4" thick (inlayed into the wood 3/32" deep), and the total wood thickness is 1". The difficulty in this project was getting the fit correct for the acrylic (all one piece!) into the wood so that ultimately we did not have to use glue. Since acrylic is transparent, any glue would be visible from the front. The tolerance required to get this fit was less than .01" (or "ten-thousandths of an inch" as they say), otherwise the fit would be too loose, and the acrylic would fall out. Thanks for always brainstorming such epic concepts with us, Daniel! We look forward to the next one. Incredible frame work by: @lapictureframer
