Connie, Sofia, Ashlee, Amina, and Maeve (Dance Nation)

The play has a scene where the girls discuss circumcision and try to figure out if the lone boy on their dance team is circumcised or not.

Connie isn't Jewish, but her dad is circumcised and her son will be too.

Sofia thinks "it's barbaric to cut off a piece of your baby's penis" and that "sex is better with an uncircumcised penis". She would "never ever ever ever ever" marry a man that's pro-circumcision, but she doesn't judge the other girls for wanting to do it.

Ashlee is Jewish, but she would get her son circumcised even if she wasn't because "boys who are uncircumcised get made fun of a lot in the locker room".

Amina is surprised to hear that Sofia wouldn't do it because "everyone is circumcised".

Maeve thinks male circumcision is fine, but female circumcision is bad because it stops girls from masturbating.

Progression (and digressions).

The first post of the year belongs to the one, the only, the boy you've had for less than a month but if anything happens to him you'll murder me slowly and painfully: Lu Ten II.

His travels through the Earth Kingdom with Zuko are some of my favorite moments in the Spitfire AU! We get to see their dynamic truly flourish and deepen before they're reunited with the rest of their family.

But then the Gaang is forced to take care of Ten Ten as they move through the Fire Nation.

Spitfire grows a lot during the course of the story—and not just in height! He's the hope for a better future and the kindness needed to go through the present. I love him dearly, and I hope so do you.

Did anyone notice in the worldbuilding that all Fire Nation dances were forcefully converted into combat movement? That's the reason dancing is "forbidden" (actually it's only pushed into being practiced for combat instead of actually being outright banned. This is why the cave dance scene kind of doesn't make perfect sense to me in terms of worldbuilding, it's much more likely all of the kids at the school would have had combat lessons, that's where they would have danced).

Everything in their culture had been militarized and converted into fighting, including the ceremonial Agni Kais which have music following them. It's not just random combat music like it would be in some other show or situation. These are the tail ends of what was left from earlier times.

This is why Ran and Shaw encourage the Dragon Dance, dancing is the original way to firebend. The Sun Warriors know what's up. Zuko is good at this, evidenced by his Blue Spirit movement; that's why he was kind of "meh" (heavy quotation marks) when he relied exclusively on brute force, rage-fueled moves in the beginning.

I think this is a clever and impactful way to show the corruption that took ahold of the Fire Nation and how everything kept degrading until the only things left were exclusively focused on conquest and domination. It screwed them up big time.

George knew how bad the show writers fucked up so he came up and gave us the quote "aegon's doomed, haunted queen and mother to his children" . He wrote them with the intention of being the most tragic duo of the dance and even he couldn't see them being butchers by the writers. Like he literally gave them matching dragons what more do they want and the fact that we have just 1 scene of them together hurts me. He will bring helaegon to justice. He NEEDS to.

Some years ago a lady brought to the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh a trout covered with a fine coat of white fur. It was pleasingly mounted on a wooden shield and was labelled as follows:

FUR BEARING TROUT Very Rare Caught while trolling in Lake Superior off Gros Cap, Near Sault Ste. Marie, district of Algoma. It is believed that the great depth and the extreme penetrating coldness of the water in which these fish live has caused them to grow their dense coat of (usually) white fur. Mounted by ROSS C. JOBE, Taxidermist of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

Visiting the museum to find out more about her unique fish, the lady was told that it was undoubtedly a trout (either brown or brook) and that its fine white coat was undoubtedly from a rabbit, whereupon she immediately presented the fish to the museum. She had bought this fake in good faith which indicates that the idea of a fur-bearing trout did not seem outlandish to her.

I told you they’ve been on my mind.

Oh yeah, I also watched one of my favourite movies httyd2 and y’know�� got a little into it as usual..

I’ve had this idea in my mind for a while, definitely before I watched httyd2 but AFTER watching season 2 of Arcane I decided “Man, this would make a GREAT drawing” .

And here we are!

Anyways this is a sort of “Au” I’ve made, Viktor as Valka, leaving and everyone thinking he’s “dead”.

While I put Jayce as Stoic, because, in retrospect they’re both people of power. Leaders that have a pretty tough life, along with losing their loved one(s). Also, Jayce finally got a beard and you know what Stoic looks like.

Since Valka and Stoic obviously had Hiccup, in my mind I think Jayce and Viktor both adopted a kid to be theirs. (Also to be the next chieftain, since they’re both men of course.) His name is Jekkel, and he’s similar to each of them in terms of appearance. His personality leaning a little towards Viktor’s rather than Jayce’s.

They’d also adopt a little girl named Viyati. (They were especially happy with the name since they picked it themselves) Viyati is the youngest dragon rider of her tribe so far. Her personality is definitely more like Jayce’s as she’s always putting herself and her brother out there. With, of course, boundaries kept in place as Jekkel isn’t usually one to actually want to be out there.

So Viyati always respects him and his needs.

And (ironically) I think I’d give Viyati a Screaming Death. (ie, smallest little dragon rider gets a big ass scary looking dragon, and it loves her)

In this Au neither Jayce nor Viktor would die, but, would come super duper close to it many, many times.

Viktor’s clothes consist of a big white hood rimmed with white tipped red fur, and lots of designs traced onto the hood itself in an off-white.

A black Viking tunic with purple embroidery along the edges and the neckline adorns him, with armour on his chest. Black and scaled.

His arms would be wrapped in white leather from the forearm down, tied in neat bows.

Giant white fur boots with black pants is what he wears on the daily. A spiky belt adorns his sleek waist.

Last thing, he has black scaled arm warmers! In which the white leather wraps around. In a cute bow of course.

Viktor is actually married to Jayce in this one! Their wedding was beautifully done (weeps…) and their rings were gorgeous. This means, the whole family is a Talis!

So that’s; Jayce Talis, Viktor Talis, Jekkel Talis, and Viyati Talis. Also Jayce’s mother, Ximena Talis. She’s a very important figure in the village, a wizard with talents for medicine.
