Anyway, I will never forgive SVU for what they did to Dana Lewis. A strong, driven, smart, capable, likable woman, who is successful and respected in her career--let's disrespect everything about her character by having her downfall be tied to some guy! Because as we all know, women can't just have their own motivations and personality, it all has to be because of jealous, man-driven woman brain. They also screwed Olivia out of what was and could have been a really positive friendship with another woman, which is also annoying and disappointing. "Developing her character or at least sticking to what made her likable is cool, but how about we trash all of that and turn her into a sniveling, cowardly murderer who risked her career over angst caused by a romantic relationship instead??"
SO IRRITATING.

Morning Glory - Dana Lewis/Olivia Benson
A/N: Alt 5 for @flufftober.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Morning…” Olivia sounds positively cheerful and Dana groans, rolling to burrow deeper under the covers, her murmur soft but still just about audible. “Oh no, you’re a Morning Person…” “Mmm, sometimes…” “I’m not.” Dana mumbles. “Come back to bed?” Olivia considers the offer, then smiles, slipping easily into the bed and curling against Dana’s back, smirking into her shoulder when Dana sighs contentedly. “That’s more like it…” It’s been three months since Olivia finally quit working and Dana can’t help but prefer this time, together but peaceful. She’s missed this gentle closeness but now she won’t ever have to again.

Kenji Tsuruta brings an all-new saucy story to Dark Horse, Captain Momo's Secret Base #comics #comicbooks #manga #graphicnovel
From the mind behind the realism and careful intricacies of Emanon, Wandering Island and Spirit of Wonder, Eisner Award-nominee Kenji Tsuruta, comes a “slice-of-life” adventure from the naked depths of space! Translated by Dana Lewis, Captain Momo’s Secret Base Volume 1 features action, humor, and a very ornery cat. Moshi-Moshi Momo works from home like many people—in a den crowded with books…

Thinking about a Ghostbusters AU AGAIN.
Byler as Stantz and Spengler, Lucas as Venkman.
Mike’s got that autistic rizz. He collects molds, spores, and fungus, he wears those signature Spengler glasses paired with some sweater vests and bow ties. He’s nerdy and weird, and when El comes on as their receptionist and tries to flirt with him, he brushes her off and changes the subject. He makes dumb science jokes that nobody laughs at (except Will), and he laughs obnoxiously with one of those breathy, snorting laughs.
Will is his partner in crime. They both come running when there’s sign of paranormal activity, equipped with their homemade devices and their blinky lights. Will appears more normal- he’s attractive, he’s nice, he’s quiet- but he’s insufferable once you get to know him. He’ll talk for hours about the things that pique his interest, and he’s blunt. If he thinks someone’s an asshole, he’ll say so. He and Mike tend to have conversations nobody else can really understand, throwing around big words and munching on cheap takeout on the crummy old couch in the firehouse. (Sometimes, when Lucas is unlucky, he walks in on them munching on each other’s faces as well.)
Lucas is arguably the most “normal” of all of them. He’s personable, he’s charming. He actually does flirt with girls, which doesn’t go well for him because a lot of the ones they run into are more interested in Mike or Will. He’s a little bit of an asshole (who can blame him? He spends all his time getting dragged around by two nerds on a ghost chase), but he’s also their people guy. Once they start getting business, he’s the one making house calls and going on talk shows.
Just thinking about their first successful bust. Lucas, covered in slime and miserably wiping it from his face. Will is absolutely losing his shit and jumping up and down. Mike pushes his goggles up out of his eyes, and he has that darkened smudge over his face that leaves him looking like a raccoon. His hair is all standing on end, and he’s holding the trap up, watching it smoke and pop. Will bounces his way over, giddily watching the trap swing back and forth, and then he’s grabbing Mike’s face and pressing a kiss to his cheek, unfazed by the grime.
Mike holds the trap out of the way and hooks an arm around Will’s waist to pull him in for a proper kiss, and Lucas rolls his eyes, shaking the goop off his hands and letting it splatter onto the floor.
“I’m all good, thanks for asking.”

Planet of The Apes: Visionaires #CVReview
Tumblr media
Never liked Planet of The Apes. Always slept through every single one of the films : from Heston joints my momz put me on as a kid through VHS, to the Tim Burton joint that was always on FOX during the Pagan holiday season, all the way to today when I used my cinema subscription earlier this summer season to charge my phone while the latest "Apes" movie was running in the background, sounding a lot like another shitty FOX franchise in "Avatar".
Growing up in the 2000's, Rod Serling was a household name since my mom was a fucking Boomer. I know "Twilight Zone" plots like the back of my hand, but prefer "The Night Gallery".
I read "20th Century Fox Uncovered" 's "Alien" a few years ago so once I saw that on the banner and Serling's name, I made the effort to finally get through a "Planet of The Apes" story.
This page-turner was worth my time. Serling's script was inspired by the fear of nuclear annihilation, palpable when living in humanity post Hiroshima to today. Xenophobia is discussed, prejudice, subjugation all with lines about propsed barbarity that could be paraphrased by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan back when he was running a stable.
I read that Helena Bonham Carter was in the Burton joint after checking out an anniversary edit of "Coraline" yesterday -
Tumblr media
that was definitely an inspiration to pick up this read.
Now after checking out Gould's adpatation of Serling's work, I can put to bed what "Planet of The Apes" is about - without suffering through some "epic" three hour film from the lens of director after director through the decades who do not understand how to simplify this story to the degree that Serling did that could fill up a hundred plus pages or a thirty minute T.V. slot.
*Also after seeing Chad Lewis' art, monkey bars should definitely be used in place of crosswalks worldwide !
**
Plus that last scene with the Statue of Liberty. As a person who's become so disillsuioned with my European country of origin that I have purchased a ticket to get out of State(side) by the winter season of this year, I can empathize with the protagonist of the notion of having "nowhere to go".
A man out of time: It seems as if with the generation I was raised in (2000s) with parents who were born in the 1960's, I can empathize with the feeling of waking up after cryogenic sleep as I stumble around the 2020's. My morals and taste's definitely differ from other Zennials.
A man out of land: To see that Statue of Liberty, what it now represents - a safe haven to illegal migrants and other ethnic cultures not of my own to be strategetically placed ahead of me in my native country of origin, I can understand the need to throw in the towel as the protagonist does at the end of Sterling's tale.
