THE DAN SODAPOP ANALYSIS I MENTIONED AND FINALLY GOT TO:

So as I have not shut up about, I saw Dan as sodapop on Thursday and I HAVE THOUGHTS.

First off, his soda feels the least easy going if that makes sense. Like every smile is a front. Yes he has fun with the greasers and during ggah he seems like every other easy going soda (side note the way he looked at two-bit during his verse???? He WANTED two-bit). But you see how hard he works to keep up those walls during the scene right before great expectations.

That scene for me was the first one that really separated Dan soda from the others. He seemed actually tired and you can see how hard he’s trying not to crack when pony asks him about Sandy. There’s a pause before he says “I do?” Like he’s shocked. Because he’s worked so hard to seem fine, to pretend she doesn’t exist.

His energy shifts after Sandy is brought up. He’s suddenly more aware of the cracks in his facade and he’s gotta work extra hard to make sure pony doesn’t notice anymore.

Moving on to runs in the family reprise. He is the most confrontational and active Sodapop in this scene in my opinion. When they first start going at each other, you see him frustrated and something I love is how he kept looking back at Johnny almost as if being like “you guys are fighting in front of him and you know how inappropriate and insensitive that is.” Im pretty sure he even apologized to Johnny at one point.

But when he inserts himself between pony and darry at the table, it feels very intentional. Because he doesn’t just sit. He is actively trying to keep pony calm and reassure him that darry doesn’t mean what he’s saying. And bro when he jumps up to block darry, hes not just putting himself between the two. He was actively holding darry back and even when they weren’t physically fighting, he was like squaring up with darry, daring him to try some shit. And he was ANGRY about the fighting. His face was so intense. Way more so than any other soda.

Not only that, he was yelling at pony too once pony stood up. He kept pointing at the chair and like demanding pony sit, getting very obviously frustrated when pony wouldn’t. I LOVE this detail because it shows how soda doesn’t just see the fighting as one sided. He’s not just trying to get darry to stop fighting, he’s going at both sides trying to get them to calm down.

During run run brother, that anger he had is THERE man. Specifically on the line “sooner or later you’ll learn” he’s right up in darry’s face yelling at him, angerly pointing at the ground.

Changing the topic a bit I talked a lot about how intense his soda is and how hard he works to try and stop the fighting. But it’s because he really loves both his brothers and man you see that so much during throwing in the towel. The song is easily one of my favorites and dude the way he sang. He did SOOO many opt ups which really made the song seem so hopeful because at the end of the day that is who soda is. He works hard to stop his brothers from fighting because he knows they love each other and can be a family again. Also he fully on bear hugs darry at the end. Like drops to his knees and buried his face in Darry’s chest🥺

God during Johnny’s death, he had me BROKEN. (Yeah as you can see I spent half the show watching him and I have NO regrets because that man is so in the scene whether he has lines or not) He was so fucking broken, it was devastating. When he went to pony, you could see him begging pony to say something or do anything and then he pulled pony to his chest and was rocking back and forth sobbing it was so heartbreaking.

Also side note but I wanted to mention how he’s the only soda who really plays up the injuries from the rumble. Like after Johnny dies and dally pushes him away (which he fell to the floor for) he like limps over to pony and held his side while walking. Just something I found interesting.

The last thing I’m gonna mention in this very long ramble is the way he reacts to the end bit where darry is telling pony he has to go to school. When darry is on the floor and pony is yelling at him to shut up, soda starts trying to interrupt them even before he jumps down to break up the fight. He starts shouting “hey hey hey” and then repeats please multiple times before begging them to stop fighting. And god it’s devastating. Because he has no anger left. He’s just hysterical sobbing. Specifically the line “and that’s worse than being dead” is often an angry one for soda. But because dan soda shows his anger instead of trying to keep it at bay during other scenes, he is more just broken in this one. He’s yelling and crying and it’s so sad.

It’s such a good reminder that soda lost two of his friends, too. Something interesting in the book is that pony at first doesn’t even like dally. Dally is Johnny’s friend. Soda is the first one to have a conversation with him in both the book and movie because while we don’t see much of it, I do think soda really cared about both of them. You see that so much through Dan’s acting choices in the ritf reprise scene where he’s constantly interacting with Johnny and right after Johnny’s death when he’s the first one to try and comfort dally, even though dally won’t let him.

Soda is someone who loves so intensely and cares deeply about the people in his life.

Dan Berry is such an incredible actor and I need to give him his flowers because I’ve seen him in every role he covers now and while is Darry is my favorite, his sodapop is really where I got to see how good of an actor he really is. He’s such an active member in every scene he’s in because while soda may not have many lines in a lot of scenes, he’s always in the scene if that makes sense. He’s constantly reacting and making choices that fit his character so well. He really brought sodapop to life for me.

Redoot (Goldie O’ Gilt )

      ▫ Specially known as the “ Ice Queen of Dawson. “ (Nicknamed by Scrooge Mc Duck)

     Goldie is a female protagonist in the show “Ducktales” that was Rebooted in 2017. Currently; Goldie is still in the cast of characters as the show continues to air.              She is a flirtatious, tease that is specially known to steal anything that would bring value to her way. Goldie goes on adventures and quests to get special objects  that are rumored to special powers.                                               The shown treasure: The Eye of Demogorgon is a very recognizable treasure that was said to be from the land of Demogorgon; A dimension that is populated of all Demons. It was said that once she took the Eye of Demogorgon, a huge uprising began and based on Scrooge’s observation; he stopped the uprising soon after it began. After months later; Scrooge and Goldie reunites in Duckburg and finds the Golden Lagoon together back at the Klondike. As Goldie was working with Glomgold, Glomgold would grow huge jealousy and planned to kill Scrooge inside the Golden Lagoon; However, that was foiled when Goldie saved  Scrooge by pushing him aside and letting herself fall.      Happily with the Eye, Goldie was able to sneak a boat under the dock that Glomgold was holding the liquid that was once the Lagoon and take a pole for it to fall into the tank that was hooked to her boat. Once all the liquid gold was placed into her tank, she happily presents it to the two men and sailed off with it. Original ( Glittering Goldie )       ▫ Specially known as the “ Goldie Girl “ (Nicknamed by Scrooge Mc Duck) Goldie is a female protagonist in the show “Ducktales” that made it’s start in 1987 and ended in 1990.                                        She is a smart and protective woman, she is known to be strong and bold for the places that she lived in. Also kind hearted and considerate for other people and Blackjack; A bear she took in when she lived in White Agony.        Years ago, Goldie used to sing for a place that was owned by Dangerous Dan. ( A antagonist that supposedly had a love interest for Goldie during her stay in the Klondike ) During a night of fun, Scrooge appears to the building and offers to trade a gold nugget for a cream soda. Once Goldie got a sight of it, she challenged Scrooge to play a game of cards with her and the boys. After the game, Goldie takes the gold nuggets and hides it somewhere in the building.         With Scrooge demanding to have it back, Goldie claims that she did not have the gold. Leading Scrooge to threaten to call the police. Quickly rushing behind Goldie offers to dig Scrooge up another one and he agrees with unbelief of her having the capability to work hard. To his suprise; Goldie was actually a very hard and smart worker, so Scrooge started to grow feelings for her and offered to move in together over in Duckburg. Once she agreed, Scrooge went to hide the gold and prepared himself for a date out with her that same night. Suprisingly the gold that was hidden was missing and Scrooge went out to warn Goldie.. Coming to find out Dan saying that Goldie ran off with the gold and went to Duckburg. What really happened that Dan kept the gold; leaving Goldie and Scrooge to split off and live their own lifes under a lie.. Within the time passing, Valentines Day would be happening and Scrooge decides to take the triplets out to the Klondike to find gold by his cabin. Come to find out, Goldie was living in the cabing rent free ever sense he left!.. So, Scrooge and Goldie talk about the Klondike gold and end up angry at each other, until when Dan arrived to the train the boys was riding in and shot down their gold... That being when the truth finally is heard and Scrooge falls in love with Goldie all over again and offers her to move in with him to Duckburg. Sadly; due to homesickness and taking care of Blackjack she had to refuse the tempting offer. Throughout that time, Scrooge has visited her once and a while to make sure she stayed safe. There even being a time when Goldie crashed a wedding that led Scrooge hating the bride and stating his love for Goldie once again. Due to a fire burning down the cabin she was staying in at White Agony, she moved to a different cabin and took a job into lumberjacking.. From then on; she didn’t appear in anymore Ducktales episodes.       ▫   All characters are welcome to RP with her.

2009 - DAN - Magic Mountain

The next release I put out on Slackerpop Records was in the early Fall of 2009: my new lo-fi psychedelic punk band DAN’s first album “Magic Mountain”.

The impetus for this was I had recently got kicked out of my cousin’s house after a major argument and asked to never come back. So I did the logical thing: moved back in with my parents out in Fountain Inn which sucked. Living with my parents pretty much killed my ability to record anything because they wouldn’t put up with the loudness for too long, so I started spending a lot of time at my buddy Sid’s house, hanging out in the basement of his parent’s house, where we could be loud most of the time so I started jamming with him and his roommate Clayton. They were two unemployed stoners, living rent free, so it was perfect for me to come over pretty much anytime I wanted and smoke up and play music. “The Basement” was a stinky, cat-infested, no air conditioning, hippie dungeon. At least 50 different people came through that place and got fucked up and jammed with us during the 2 years that they lived there in whence we recorded 3 full DAN albums. The original idea was that each song should be short, maybe one or two riffs, and be over before the listener can realize that we suck. DAN was our excuse to get high or drunk as hell and try to make each other laugh. The quality of the recordings wasn’t so important as the desire to just play music and joke around trumped it. So from July-Aug 2009 we had cranked out 25 tracks of hippie punk madness. The most amazing one to me is the last one “Television Rots The Mind Yet Again”, in which all we did was hold a mic up to the tv and flipped the channels and the result was amazing. The cover art is from a real shampoo magazine ad I saw online. It is meant as a parody of sexist bands who put naked women on their album covers, as a shallow way to try to sell more copies. We thought what's more sexist, shallow, and stupid than putting JUST the boobs on the cover? Don't show her face, or anything else at all, just the tits...that way, it's guaranteed to sell! When we released the album on myspace in Fall 2009, the following is what we wrote for DAN’s biography.

DAN is three stoned guys armed with a Tascam 8 track, a drum machine, and a few guitars and microphones who strive for the most obnoxious sound they could possibly make. It's dirty punk rock with all the fat cut out. If you don't get it, then go fuck yourself. Let me clear some shit up right now, DAN is not anyone in the band's name. We are named after John Goodman's greatest role of all-time, Dan Connors from Rosanne.

It all started mid 2009 when a local freaky musician known as Dables got together with the punk/funk/lofi psychedelia weirdness of The Albino Porch Monkeys and over many bong hits and beer cans, potato chips, and camaraderie, the three guys: David Walker, Sid Id, and Clayton Marx decided to form a new band.

This brings us to the two DAN mission statements:

1.) We aims to piss you off. We want you howling at the sky in anger and turmoil after listening to DAN. We want to upset the rest of your day with horribly catchy racket that you can't get out of your head no matter how hard you try. We want your ears to bleed and we play LOUD AS FUCK.

2.) We aims to write whatever the hell we want. If we want our songs to be 6 seconds long, then by god we will write a 6 second song about titfucking. We heed to no religion, sex, orientation, race, or culture. We hate them all and we think those who don't laugh at themselves sometimes are assholes! We will never be censored for any reason, despite those who may think so. They can suck it! We will write whatever kind of genre we will feel like, we will fart in microphones and call it music if we see the need to do so, which is a good idea and we should put fart songs on the third album.

Elfen Lied OC Name: Lilium "Lily" Tzu Age: 25 Gender: Female Species: Diclonius Likes: Rock & Roll, Gothic style, being alone, killing anyone that annoys her I.E Soldiers & Scientists & Dicloni that are used by the Gov., Violent Video Games, Soda, shooting her guns. Dislikes: "Girly" music, Soldiers, Scientists, The Gov., Dicloni used by the Gov., People the annoys her, her guns jamming. Bio: Lily was born as a military brat, a child with a military parent, both of her parents were members of the Japanese military, her father is a commander & her mother is a nurse. She was born in the base's hospital, & it shocked her parents that she was diclonius. But, they never brought her into the facility, for they know of what they'll do to her; resulting keeping her in secret. At the age of 3, the usual age of when the Dicloni turn against their parents, they taught her things like what's good & what's bad. They dyed her hair black, & covered her horns with a black beanie; she ended up wearing makeup, like putting eyeliner around her eyes showing off that she has dark circles around them. At the age of 6, Her parents suspected her to start killing the kids of her school, but she didn't; naturally her classmates like her style & it made her popular. But the teachers of her school tend to not liking her style, calling it "unappropriated." But the principal let her wear them unless she isn't doing anything that breaks the school rules. Then one of the teachers, who was very strict & ended up secretly abusing Lily. Then after school, on the last day of school, he attempted to rape Lily. But Lily retaliated, & used her Diclonius powers for the first time on him, dragging on the floor like a rag-doll, & split him vertically; alongside pinning his remains on the wall with scissors blades, pens, & metal rulers. The police went to her house, & questioned her about her teacher's death. But she said that he abused her for the school year & attempted to rape her, alongside saying that she saw a girl peeking through the window & watched his death. The police took her word, but her parents knew it was her, which resulted grounding her. The second month of the Summer, her home was infiltrated by the Govnerment soldiers, she killed most of them to defend her & her family. But she was overwhelmed & tired, she soon passed out of exhaustion & found herself in the lab that she heard from her parents. She overheard that her parents were dead, for keeping her in secret; calling them traitors. At the age 25, she used her diclonius powers to escape her cell, killing almost every guard, & personnel. She attempted to kill the head director of the lab, but she was shot in the arm & jumped through the window. She swam to shore, thus killing sharks on her way, she hid herself under the docks until nightfall. She ran to her home & find it was now being lived by a new family. She sneaked inside the attic, & luckily found her old belongings. She put her beanie back on, & re-dyed her black, for the in the lab they shaved her head; saying that she doesn't deserve to have dyed hair, nor having makeup & such. She cut off her long hair to make it short, having a bang covering her right eye. She then left the house, only wearing a towel for the clothes were too small. She robbed a store, after disabling the alarm, & using her vectors to unlock the door. She put on her Gothic clothes again, wearing a black hoodie, jeans, alongside stealing a earring of a black crucifix & put it on her horn. Which before she did that, she went inside her parents, trying not to wake the new parents, she removed a loose board on the floor, & opened it & pull it out her father's special gun, a 44 Dan Wesson Magnum, which he got from his grandfather. She took the ammo, & put the box & floor board back in place. Before she left, she look at the couple, then she infected them with Diclonius virus. Leaving with a smirk. After getting more ammo & an ammo belt from robbing a gun store, taking the money from both of the stores & the parents. She rented an apartment room going under her birth name, which is naturally what everyone doesn't call her. She now lived there for most of her life, gaining money by committing burglaries & pick-pocketing, with the help of her vectors; alongside infecting people. Other: Appearance: - Eyeliner around the eyes. - Black dyed hair - Black hoodie - A horn with a Black crucifix - An Ammo belt under her hoodie - Jeans - A bang of her hair covering her right eye - Contact lenses that change her eye color to green - Height of 5'10" - Weight of 159 Vector Amount: She has 15 vectors. Vector Range: Her range is a 250 radius, which naturally surprise the scientists that she has a longer range than more vectors.   Abilities: Gun Wielding: Usually Dicloni doesn't use any weaponry, but Lily is possibly the only one that uses a gun entirely. Marksman: She was trained to use a gun since she was little, in her home & in the base. She & her father won first place in a shooting competition, scoring higher points than the last champions. She had a higher score on accuracy & reaction, making her an expert Marksman. Self-Medical Healing: After she was shot in the arm, she healed her arm by being taught by her mother. She pulled the bullet out with a beak & a claw of a baby crab, she cauterized it with fire; biting down on the crab. Fun Facts: - She wants to move to America wear she can be "free" from the Lab, possibly taking many dicloni if she could - Her favorite Rock & Roll band is Iron Maiden & KoRn. - She calls herself, "The Dark Queen of Diclonius(ni) - Her favorite video game(s) is the Doom series, sometimes like to play Live in COD, like to hear kids, which she thinks that they shouldn't play, cry or screeching on the top of their lungs.
