Harlan Draka is a Dampyr, half-human and half-vampire, but he doesn't know it. Soon he will have to face his powers to destroy a terrible Master of The Night
Dampyr (2022)
“Dampyr” is a film that attempts to bring the dark and supernatural world of the homonymous comics to the big screen. Although it presents an intriguing plot and charismatic characters, it suffers from pacing and development issues. The story sometimes feels rushed, making it difficult to connect with the protagonists and their motivations. Additionally, the visual effects, while creative, lack the polish needed to fully immerse the viewer in this paranormal universe. Despite these negative aspects, the movie has moments of exciting action and manages to capture the essence of the source material at times. Ultimately, “Dampyr” offers a cinematic experience that may appeal to genre fans, but its uneven execution limits its potential. A rating of 5 out of 10 reflects its brave yet imperfect attempt to bring the comic world to the big screen.

If you like Astarion
or even better his actor check out Dampyr, the main actor looks so uncannily like young Neil Newbon. It's also about vampires and weird relationships to their masters / family it's a mid movie but fills the bdg3 gaps

Someone on facebook pointed out that there's something that might appear like Zagor's axe in the last scene of Dampyr... so I went back (yes, I finally saw the movie! Took me eight months. Yay! Thanks Sky!) and
yeah, that looks awfully like Zagor's axe!
The same person also said that there might be Martin Mystère's laser pistol on the other altar, but, honestly, I can't see it. Anyway, it's not important. I sincerely don't know if we will ever get more movies since Bonelli did what they do best: auto-boycott themselves 😒
I mean, well done Bonelli! Well done indeed! You had a great movie and proceeded to destroy it with such an horrendous distribution even the authors spoke out against. Good job! 👏👏 'Cause the movie is great. It's well done. Despite being a relatively low budget movie the technical department is very good, from the locations to scenography and costumes, even the visual effects are not bad. It really didn't deserve this fate.
#this movie deserved better#makes me so angry and sad#bonelli editore#bonelli entertainment#zagor#italian comics#italian cinema#let's keep hoping for some more future movies... 🤞#(thank god in italy public funding makes up for a lot of movie productions)

I really wanted to go see Dampyr. Like, as soon as it came out. Unfortunately I was busy so I postponed it. Less than two weeks after it came out I'm finally free to go see it and I discover that it's already been pulled from theatres. I'm so sad
#dampyr#movies#sergio bonelli editore#bonelli editore#tell what's the point of making a big production like that and then keeping it in theatres less than two weeks#there are Italian movies with a considerably smaller budget that stayed in theatres for a lot more#I'm not saying you should keep it for three months... but at least two full weeks would be appreciated...#there's still a theatre in Rome and one in Milan where it's available but I don't live near neither city so...

Omg! OMG! OMG!!! 🤩🤩

DCEU? Pffft! MCU? Tsk tsk...
Wait for the Bonelli Cinematic Universe blasting its way with Dampyr in October! 🤩
Dampyr is an italian production with a budget of over 15 million dollars based on the comic series "Dampyr" published by Sergio Bonelli Editore and tells the story of Harlan Draka: an half-vampire (a dhampir) who hunts down vampires and undeads. The story's set in the SFR Yugoslavia in 1992 during the Yugoslav Wars and adapts the first two issues of the series that came out in 2000.
Dampyr's been shot in Romania and entirely in english with an international cast, starring Wade Briggs as Harlan Draka and David Morrissey as the antagonist Gorka among others, and it's gonna be the first of a number of movies and tv shows based on Bonelli's legendary characters!
The movie's gonna premiere on 28th October during Lucca Comics and Games 2022. Still no news of an international release but I'm pretty sure there's gonna be one (of course there's gonna be, I don't think the producers have any expectations for a movie like this to do good in Italy 😒).
I'll most definetely be in cinema for Dampyr. Even though I don't read the comic (not because I don't like it, I've read some issues and it's great, it's just I'd need two lives to read everything! 😅), but everytime someone has the balls to do something different in Italy they must be supported at all costs!!! And by the trailer, it looks great!
If Bonelli put the same care in this movie they put in comics, than the Bonelli Cinematic Universe has a bright future ahead!! 😃
#we're talking about one of the biggest comic publishers in the world!!!#i mean their main character tex willer actually sells double the copies of batman in the us!!! :D#they've got an amazing pool of characters to pick up from! :D#dampyr#harlan draka#dampyr the movie#sergio bonelli editore#sbe#bonelli cinematic universe#italian comics#italian cinema#eagle pictures#bonelli entertainment#brandon box#vampires#horror-fantasy movie#lucca comics 2022#Youtube

Official poster and date for the release of the movie Dampyr
Almost four years after the announcement of the making of the Dampyr film, Eagle Pictures and Bonelli have revealed the first poster of the film. Coming once again from Italy, this horror novel is about a half-human half vampire trying to stop evil monsters with his comrades during a civil war in the Balkans. It is very heavy on action and detailed visuals with a great atmosphere . The plot is set during the Balkan war in the early nineties. Haunted by horrible nightmares, Harlan Draka wanders the countryside, shamelessly making money pretending to be a Dampyr (half-human and half-vampire) ridding villages of what the villagers naively believe to be evil monsters. But, when he is summoned by soldiers who are under attack by real vampires, Harlan finds out the truth: he is a Dampyr. While trying to destroy a terrible Master of the Night, he will have to learn to manage his powers and find out more about his origins.
