Disillusion's Reel
[Music / Lyrics: Damnagoras] Every time I try to understand The meaning hiddendep into my heart I crumble down the taste of losing all Is always bitter when I sip from my cold blood [Bridge:] Losing what when there is nothing much to gain? Stop yourself and have a thought Watch your life [Chorus:] Mother earth is there, emotionless to your eyes You can love her sons, but at the end you´re all…

Tuesday, May 29: Elvenking, “The One We Shall Follow”
Skyclad was and always will be the true north star for folk metal, but Italy’s Elvenking has more than done their part to wave the flag, mostly staying true to the cause over the course of 9 albums and in some respects picking up after Martin Walkyier acrimoniously left Skyclad in 2001.  Of course, such a description ensured that Elvenking would be a bit more conventional, and even recent tunes like “The One We Shall Follow” bore that out, as Damnagoras’ vocals rang clear and melodic while the rest of the band chugged along at a pace that veered toward the anthemic.  Every instrument was perfectly placed and mixed, with Lethien’s violins given equal weight alongside the guitars.  “The One We Shall Follow” was less frantic than similarly beer-swigging acts like Alestorm, but in a lot of ways felt truer to the latter band’s mission, since it was clearly designed as a jolly singalong and worked well enough on those terms. To their credit, Elvenking balanced the folk and metal aspects of their sound more or less evenly, which meant that while they weren’t original, they were among the best at what they did.

Album Review - Secrets of the Magick Grimoire by Elvenking (AFM Records)
Album Review – Secrets of the Magick Grimoire by Elvenking (AFM Records)
Italian power metal/folk metal band Elvenking have released their 9th studio album. That album is called Secrets of the Magick Grimoire and it was released on the 10th of November via AFM Records.
Elvenking formed in 1997 though struggled with getting a settled line up in their early years. Their debut full length came out in 2001 and was called Heathenreel. It was really well received…

PAGAN METAL FEST III
Entre las últimas ejecuciones de la noche encontramos “Way of the Warrior”, “Token of Time” y “From Afar”.

Damnagoras has had a hole in his pants for months and it’s not like it’s a small hole, I’m sure he knows about it. I’m wondering if he’ll ever get it fixed.

Neverending Nights
[Music / Lyrics: Damnagoras] I can see them running towards me All the time they steal my dreams The ghosts of past and sorrow All the time they steal my dreams When I take a walk outside, whispers will surround my head I can hear the echo of my voice, a hundred times or more They shout, they carry on They whisper on my sorrow They shout all night long But the whispers will not end And the…
