In surely the most important sports news of the day, it's time for me to liveblog Damn Yankees!
This movie has a somewhat obscure but notable place in Twins canon, as the protagonist Senators team later became the Twins, and it marks an early chapter in the decades-long history of us getting owned by the Yankees.
Less than a minute in and Joe sliding out of his chair to urge the runner to slide is already the most relatable thing lol

30 Days of Classic Queer Hollywood
Day 6: Tab Hunter (1931 - 2018)
Tab Hunter was one of Hollywood's 1950s golden boys, as well as a chart-topping singer. He appeared in over 40 films and was known for his All-American public persona.
Despite rumors that he was in relationships with actresses like Debbie Reynolds and Natalie Wood, these were actually studio-designed publicity stories to cover up the fact that Hunter was a closeted gay man.
His notable gay relationships included ones with Psycho actor Anthony "Tony" Perkins, professional figure skater Ronnie Robertson, and film producer Allan Glazer (Hunter's partner of 35 years). Hunter was plagued by rumors about his sexuality early in his career, but did not come out publicly until 2005.

Before you read, sorry if it's too long, I just wanted to share with you the information that you guys probably already knew (from what I've seen, the profiles of this "fandom" have been active for quite a few years) But I was really surprised.
I consider myself a fan of cinema and theater, what if I am an expert? No, but I get along very well if you want to talk about the subject. So I rarely get any surprises or do not know about something, this was not the case. I don't know if you know "Damn Yankees", it's an entertaining musical, not one of my favorites, but it's not difficult to watch, it's not boring and it follows a good plot thread.

What I didn't know (and I'm really surprised) is that Jerry was part of the cast twice. In 1994 he was the replacement for the role of Applegate on Broadway, in 1997 he materialized this same character in West end, it was a nice surprise!! So I started looking around for this year's record and i found it complete!

(I guess this poster came out when the role was directly taken by Jerry)
youtube
Jerry is undoubtedly a great actor, both on and off screen, he knows how to connect with his audience and welcomes as his own the character he has to play, a professional in all the word, seeing him perform on Broadway - even if it wasn't physically - was an incredible experience, even at his age he is incredible on stage, a showman, acting, singing and dancing without losing that spark of him!
youtube
I started to do some research , and he had already arrived in the theatrical field on two previous occasions, "Hellzapoppin" (1976) and "Jerry Lewis at the palace" (1953) This last date has me with doubts, but meh, I got that data from this website. Is it reliable? I don't know, you will say.
