I really love how you paint with gouache, it looks like it's digital and the colors are so fine like it's a matte sticker, so smooth and soft lol So.... I bought (cheap like $20) gouache like you and omg it's so much fun ahhh 😭😭😭 and it looks so pretty, I was wondering if you had any tips? I've been layering (like stacking) paint but it cracks when it drys... 🧍idk I'm nervous haha, anyway love your art!!!! 💖💖

!! I’m flattered you were inspired enough to pick up a new medium:’0 it’s got it’s fair share of challenges but yes! The colors make it very fun for sure^^

And I am by no means an expert myself haha but I can definitely impart some tips. •Firstly though- The paint I use is acryla gouache which (as the name suggests) has an acrylic binder and cannot be reactivated with water like traditional gouache. I have most experience with acrylic paint myself so this type was a perfect fit for me. Based on the “cracking” you’ve described I suspect the paint you bought is traditional gouache. The trick with that kind is finding the right paint-to-water ratio, if you pick up too much pigment you might get that cake-y texture after drying. When you mix, aim for a ‘creamy’ texture that’s not goopy on your brush when you apply (just start light and paint square or scale exercises until you find the right balance👍 something easy as you get used to this new medium) •The paper you use may also be a factor. I used a sturdy and fairly inexpensive canson mixed media type when I first started(took the paint surprisingly well tbh) and then moved to different watercolor ones (tried pretty expensive types too only to hate em lmao) Cold-press fluid 100 watercolor paper has become my personal favorite. •this last note is not so much a tip but since you like my approach to gouache, maybe it’ll provide some insight? Miss Rid, hi I hope you’re well it’s me, dreamgirl. New BTS related dream just dropped and it’s an entire movie I swear. I woke up like an hour ago so some details might be missing but I’m going to tell you the gist of it💭

So I’m attending this school right. For like super powered gifted kids??? And anyway my classmate is Kim Taehyung. Gorgeous black permed Kim Taehyung and his best pals, 2/5 of the Wooga Squad- SeoJoon and Wooshik.

Anyway we cut to a pool scene??? But this pool is like packed??? Like people can’t swim they’re just floating??? (Damn our super power school can’t afford a couple extra pools?) and apparently Seo Joon and Wooshik devised this plan to corner Taehyung and I because apparently we’re giving off idiots to lovers vibes?? Listen I REMEMBER SEOJOON BACKING ME UP AGAINST A WALL (platonically) IN THIS DREAM AND HE WAS BEAUTIFUL?!?!!?

So anyway the idiots finally become cute high school lovers and the school is like this super power meets Star Wars type vibes again?

And I get to hold my cute boyfriend’s hand and walk down hallways and stuff and in this time I find out I’m like this anomaly??? Like my parents aren’t regular supers? They’re like two different ones so I’m this hybrid who has too much power for her own good or just too much to control?

I can stop time, manipulate anatomy and I have crazy ass strength and can fly and shit. And supers only have one power??? And anyway this school is like weary of me? Like not with ulterior motives, they’re just concerned and want me to control my powers? (At least that’s what they say, you know…)

But anyway back to the loml Kim Taehyung. So my guy cheats on me suddenly hey? Like all of a sudden???? (Like baby??? We were good? I was the Nala to your Simba??? The Anjali to your Rahul?!??)

And I lose my shit?? Like I’m rage stomping the school grounds and destroying things and people are trying to stop me but hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, you know. Like in this dream I remember using that anatomy manipulation bit to cause someone internal pain for trying to attack me??

And then suddenly I can see the future. Like I have visions of me and my husband, Taehyung, buying this old chicken shop with like face brick interior and turning it into our home (chicken shop???) and we’re decorating this house and I vaguely see an art project happening on the floor (body paints and stuff🙊)

So I stop trying to fight everyone whose trying to apprehend me. And I sink to my knees (you know, villain redemption arc style). And Taehyung is standing there with his pals and they’re voicing their opinions on his cheating actions. They’re mad. Big time. (I mean, they worked hard to get us together ig and SeoJoon could’ve done other things when he backed me up at that pool smh🙄)

And I’m like all defeated and shit like heartbroken and I’m like “she probably kissed him better than I did☹️☹️☹️” and he says no.

And I don’t wanna hear why he cheated ig so I start walking away and he runs after me but my alarm went off because I had to get up earlier to make Father’s Day breakfast 😞 so we don’t know whether or not multiverse me and Taehyung patch things up so the future vision can come true sigh.

Anyway I hope this was a fun read because my dreams are whack as heck these days, I guess it’s like post exam stress relief?? And I hope you’re doing well and living well and being healthy and coping with chapter 2 aka Tiddies and Tats era (we luv 2 c it)
