2. How easy is it for your character to laugh?
Very easy, depending on who he's with. If it's his s/o, laughing comes easy and bubbles up from his chest. With his small family, he'll laugh with them, a little easier with Vesper. With work friends, it's chuckles and polite laughs. Anyone who's a stranger might get a slightly wider half-smile if they say something funny, staying reserved with anyone he doesn't know.
7. What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?
The smell of the ocean. That salty breeze. It doesn't happen very often, but when he does get a hint of it, it triggers a happy nostalgia: it reminds him of when he was still a happy teenager, spending entire weekends out at the beach. It reminds him of warm sand and fires at night, that first plunge into water, and laid out on his board while floating and watching seabirds above him. A less happy nostalgia comes from the smell of a particular kind of tobacco; the kind that his father used to hand roll. The sweet smell makes his stomach flip and gives him a headache because of how strongly he associates it with his dad.
20. If they were asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would they do so?
Valen has very distinct definitions of what love is in different forms. Familial love is warm and new, he still struggles with it but it's trust and reliability. Platonic love is one he's not familiar with because he has such an all-or-nothing mentality, but he guesses that it feels like easy happiness. Romantic love used to feel like razors and questions, like being asked to give everything and get nothing in return. But now, romantic love feels like sunshine; it's warmth and joy and acceptance. It's like being picked first each and every time, like healing and unbridled affection. It's being known and knowing, being kept and keeping.
 25. What are their thoughts on marriage?
Valen never believed he'd get married, partially because he couldn't imagine finding someone he wanted to be married to and partially because it seemed a little ridiculous. But now, he's all for it and loves it. There's something very special about being able to say "my husband" and hearing it back, knowing he's so wanted that someone put a ring on it.
30. Who are they the most glad to have met?
The love of his life and matching piece, Nathan Verner. His own little ray of sunshine that brought light back to him, that makes him happier than he thought he could be, and the one that brings him peace. The one he'd die and live for 🥰
31. Who do they most regret meeting?
There's definitely been more than a few; someone who played him and abused his trust after he thought they really cared for him. An ex-teammate that nearly got him killed in a botched contract. Various other folks who just get on his nerves because of how wildly incompatible they were in various senses.
Vesper
13. What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?
Vesper thinks he looks best in pinks and blacks, and it's true, he does. They both match his skin tone and hair colour well. But he'd also look very nice in white for more contrast and deep, saturated colours like sapphire, amethyst, and ruby.
21. Why do they get up in the morning?
Vesper wakes up in the mornings because he's got things to do, dammit. He's a busy little guy and has plenty of things going on; he's got a contract at 10am, he wants to get an iced coffee beforehand, he has plants to water, he wants to go see his dark, dusty nomad and go get dinner from his favourite place. Vesper gets up because of his zest for life.
32. Do they have a go-to story in conversation? Or a joke?
Not particularly? Vesper is chatty around the right people and he can talk about almost anything. He's opinionated, so his go-to tends to be expressing his thoughts on something and seeing what happens, whether it be good or bad.
Nikita
1. What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?
Nikita can sit still for a while with nothing to do. She's good at taking the opportunity to rest and tends to daydream if she's got nothing else to do. She has a very vivid imagination because of how she was raised (abusive mother that liked sending both her and Noel to sit in the corner).
6. Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?
Nikita certainly sees them as flexible for the most part. She's spent the last ten years consistently working around them and has yet to be caught. Sure, most of them are there to protect people, but she doesn't mind ignoring the ones that get in her way.
11. How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?
Nikita tends to ask for clarification immediately. She doesn't like leaving things unanswered, so you can bet she'll ask plenty of questions if she needs to. Sometimes that can get a little bit annoying, but she really prefers knowing over not.
Me
B) What inspired you to create them?
I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you for Valen 😅 He just appeared one day and made a home in my head, becoming my golden child. Vesper and Vega were made to be his half-siblings and give him a family. Fawn was just for fun and has yet to fit into their story. Nikita and Noel came about because I just like the process of creation, but they then stuck around and now have their own stories.
H) What trait do you admire most?
I'll always admire Valen's tenacity and intricacy. The way he takes generally negative traits, like anger, and harnesses them to achieve a goal rather than letting them eat him alive.
