One of my main saves in Football Manager 2025 was going to be a youth-focused save with a Brazilian club. But, with the ongoing delay to the game, I’m not sure whether that save will come to fruition, so I decided to head to Brazil for a new FM24 challenge. In fact, this latest adventure will see us take control of one of the clubs I was going to recommend in my “25 teams to manage in FM25”…

Todo tipo de doce que você pode imaginar tem na doceria Ballet & Bonbons:

Temos bombons, trufas, geleias, pirulitos, chicletes, balas, jujubas, cupcakes, bolos, sorvetes, pipoca doce, macarons, brigadeiros e até diversos doces regionais de onde seu perdido vem! Você pode levar tudo para viagem, mas também há mesas para que os clientes possam se sentar e assistir o show que as bailarinas em miniatura dão no pequeno palco próximo do balcão (tenha certeza que tem um binóculo com você, se quiser assistir de longe). Aos sábados e domingos, uma área externa é aberta para que todos possam relaxar e aproveitar o karaokê e uma fogueira com marshmallows, além da grande piscina de algodão doce. Nadar na piscina fofa é como flutuar sobre as nuvens, e todos descrevem a sensação como única, além de saírem de lá com cheirinho de morango. Muitos dizem que um cara acabou se "afogando" ali e ainda está "preso" em algum lugar beeem lá no fundo, e dizem que você ainda pode escutar seus "gritos de socorro", mas são apenas boatos! Não pense muito neles. E, se fosse verdade, quem não ia querer sobreviver comendo algodão doce pela eternidade?

Todos os doces vendidos na Ballet & Bonbons são feitos com muito amor na fábrica de doces de Sugar Plum, onde é proibida a entrada de visitantes por enquanto... mas Merlin já passou por lá e pode aprovar que tudo está em perfeito estado. Nenhum dos soldadinhos de chumbo que trabalham em sua fábrica estão sendo maltratados, como condiz na autorização assinada por Merlin de caneta rosa com glitter.

PS. NÃO ALIMENTAR AS MINI BAILARINAS E NÃO CHEGAR MUITO PERTO. ELAS MORDEM.

recently read the english translation and was quite pleased with the work done so my recommendation goes to A Colour Defect by Ana Maria Gonçalves

At the end of the 19th century, Kehinde, an elderly African woman, blind and almost on her deathbed, travels from Africa to Brazil in search of her son who has been missing for decades.  During the crossing she tells the story of her life. Born in Savalu in 1810, Kehinde, still a child,  watches as her mother is raped and killed. With her grandmother and twin sister Taiwo, she manages to escape the massacre and flees to another town. There, Kehinde and her sister are captured and put on a slave ship to Brazil. After a time, already the mother of a child she bore as the result of a rape, Kehinde manages to buy her freedom, and becomes involved with Alberto, a white man, father of her second son. Under constant watch as a freed slave, she ends up being arrested, but, with the help of friends, manages to escape from jail and leave Salvador. Some time later, she returns, only to confront the biggest tragedy of her life: Alberto, who has become an alcoholic and gambler, has sold their son to pay off a debt. From that moment on, finding her son becomes her sole goal in life, taking her to Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and, finally, back to Africa, where new discoveries and tragedies await her. In addition to being drawn into an utterly engrossing narrative, marked by fatality, readers will discover, in impressively rich detail, little known aspects of African culture and religion in Brazil and Africa, as they accompany the saga of Kehinde, an unforgettable character, who will go down in the history of Brazilian literature.
