Okay, so, I'm gonna share the joke ending and then the actual point at which I stopped lol

It's from a Zosan fic I wrote on impulse after watching the live-action and getting caught up (kinda) with the anime

"and then Zoro went like “shit you right, but i’m so hungry i can’t fight correctly” which reignited something in sanji who instinctively went to cook him a meal and became normal again as he watched zoro enjoy his meal LMAO U THOUGHT"

anyways, this was the joke ending I wrote as a prank for this fool up there ^^^

Are you named after anyone? After, of all things, a 15th century noblewoman (whom I always thought was a saint, but actually wasn't, I just found out!) My mom saw an amazing statue of her on a trip and loved it, and her name, so much that she named me after her.

When was the last time you cried? I teared up a little yesterday when I got my friend's wedding invitation in the mail. The last time I properly cried was... huh. I think a couple of weeks ago, watching TV. That's a fair amount of time for me to go without crying, so go me!

Do you have kids? No, and I don't want any.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? A bit less than I used to, and not a lot in general. Only when I think it will be funny, or when I need to make an underhanded comment about something that ticked me off but I can't do much about.

What sports do you play? None. I am a very inactive person, sadly. I hope I can at least start going on more walks as the season keeps warming up.

What’s the first thing you notice about people? If they seem friendly or not.

What’s your eye colour? A very, very dark brown.

Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings all the way. I can't handle scary stuff very well at all. 🫣

Any special talents? I'm fairly good at languages (I learned them easily in school and I usually have a decent shot at figuring out what a word might mean if it's in a language that has at least some relation to the ones I know/have studied). Sadly, the only one I'm still fluent in (besides Italian, of course) is English, because it's the only one I use regularly.

Where were you born? Italy, smack dab in the middle of the top part of the boot, lol

What are your hobbies? Writing fic, reading fic, scrolling Tumblr, playing video games (mostly just Pokémon), playing D&D, and very occasionally drawing or weaving bracelets or assembling jigsaw puzzles.

Do you have any pets? My two cats, Sasha and Misha 🥹🥹 They're tabby-and-white twins, they're almost 5 years old, and they're the ones I come home to. 💚💚

How tall are you? 164cm, although sometimes when I'm in a hurry I just say 1.65m 😅

Favourite subject in school? All the sciences and Math, though I also liked English when I started having it as a subject.

Dream job? Writing a single novel, or a trilogy or something like that, that becomes inexplicably popular, gets a movie deal, and gives me enough residuals to potentially live comfortably while bumming around on my couch writing fanfic for the rest of my life.

Sweet/savoury/spicy: I'm not a huge fan of spicyness tbh I think it's overrated. To be clear I am not white and my parents occasionally eat ULTRA spicy so it's not even that I wasn't accustomed to eat early in life, I just don't like it that much. But I am reasonably tolerant to it, and enjoy it when it's mild.

1. Are you named after anyone?

Technically a saint (my mom liked a statue of her she saw once). I was given my late aunt's name as a middle name, but it got lost in the bureaucratic shuffle over the years, so it doesn't show up on any of my documents any more.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Pfshhh. When's the last time I didn't cry? Teary-eyed, today, over a post. Tears falling, surely sometime in the last three days. Full-on sobbing, I think last week.

(I know, I'm a mess.)

3. Do you have kids?

No, and I don't ever want any.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

I used to, but nowadays not a lot.

5. What sports do you play/have played?

I tried gymnastics, basketball, and modern dance in elementary school. None of those stuck. (I am very unathletic.)

6. What's the first thing you notice about people?

Huh. I'm honestly not sure. Probably if they're cheerful and seem easy to get along with, or they're frowning/serious and seem unfriendly.

Dark brown.

Wingwomen Saya

While her spirit had been a bit scattered by Mary, it would be wrong to assume it’d been destroyed. She just needed time to recollect and come to her senses, reattach to the world if only for a while. There was no way she could move on fully without knowing her brother’s fate after all.

And yet the last thing Saya had expected, was her first sight to be two grown men awkwardly trading farewells. Both her brother and that detective, Mashita, were lingering in the entryway, conversation turning into uncomfortable silence. Then the detective just seemed to give up, growling out a goodbye and leaving.

Saya drifted closer, watching her brother’s face fall a bit as he closed the door. Surely she was reading it wrong but no, she’d seen Masamune this way a few times, years ago. That was definitely his ‘I might be getting feelings’ face. Lingering around every time that Mashita came over only confirmed it. Masamune definitely had feelings and she’d be dead twice if that grumpy detective wasn’t a bit lovesick too.

Unfortunately, they both seemed dense as hell or willfully ignorant of each other. Honestly Saya hadn’t meant to hang around too long but it was impossible to move on like this. What kind of sister leaves her brother in such a hopeless situation? Clearly help was needed and she was ready for action.

Every time Mashita came over she would do what she could. A little trip so Masamune could stumble into Mashita’s arms or making sure the door was always unlocked for the detective. Then she escalated to stalling Mashita’s car now and then to force him to stay overnight. Yet still nothing happened except flustered faces and her brother’s growing conviction that the Kujou manor was haunted.

Eventually she decided to go for broke. Originally she hadn’t wanted Masamune to worry over the fact her spirit still lingered but it was time for this awkward courting dance of his to end.

Once again she stalled out the engine of Mashita’s car and watched as the detective made a show of complaining about staying the night. As always, Masamune offered to make some tea and Saya was waiting in the kitchen. Her brother jumped as the cabinet holding the tea flew open. Carefully he walked over to investigate, ears turning red as he spotted the message she’d scrawled in front of the tea. A simple ‘confess!’ With her name penned underneath.

“I’m sure he likes you” she whispered, making her brother flinch again. He looked around out of reflex before realizing she wasn’t visible. Saya watched as he slowly took out the tea.

“I’m glad you weren’t destroyed but I’m not sure I know what you’re talking about.” He said, as if Saya could spot the lie on his face.

“You do. Now tell him you like him.”

He went quiet, looking thoughtful as he made the tea. Just as it finished he sighed and looked up at the ceiling. “You’re sure?”

Saya felt herself smile. “Absolutely. No go. And don’t worry, I won’t hang around tonight. In case things go especially well.” She couldn’t help but tease, laughing when her brother’s ears turned red once more. But as he left the room she did keep her word, deciding to investigate the rest of the manor. After all, she could bother her brother for the good news tomorrow.

Maybe something with Yashiki mentoring Akira, where Akira comes to meet the cast of DM, i think that'd be super cute aaa they'd all be a few years older and stuff! It's pretty vague but I'm not good at imagining concrete scenarios;; i just want some dad kinda yashiki,,, bonus if mashita and yashiki are a couple

So maybe not exactly on topic but I had so many ideas for this prompt! I love writing interactions between Death Mark and NG characters, so I’ll probably be writing more down the road!

That said this was both super fun and somehow felt like punching a wall. I have to post it now or I’ll mess with it forever. Thank you so much for the prompt!!

Water dripped from the doorway to the ground, the irregular pattering on the concrete signaling an end to the day’s storm. A small break after a harrowing night. After all, bringing an umbrella had been the last thing on Yashiki’s mind. One moment he was reading more old tomes about seals and the next he’s on an urgent call from Mashita, rushing from the manor.

“What were you even thinking, ya brat!” Mashita’s the first to break the silence. He’s staring Akira down as the young man trudges over to his overturned bike. Yashiki could see Mashita getting more pissed as the kid ignored him in favor of checking the bike. Maybe another night he’d let the inevitably brutal lecture start, but not tonight. Not when everyone seemed worn so thin. Not when he knows Mashita’s worry turns his concern into biting words.

Yashiki put his hand on Mashita’s shoulder to stop him, squeezing gently. He received his own patented scowl but answered with a gentle, pleading look. After a tense second Mashita huffed and shook off his hand. “Whatever. I’ll be in the van, it’s too damn cold and damp in this alley. Give me the keys.”

“Thank you.” Yashiki smiled and handed over the van keys. He watched Mashita give another quick glare to Akira before turning away.

“Don’t take too long old man. And don’t be too soft on him either.” Mashita waved over his shoulder as he walked out of the ally. The silence grew again, only slightly changed by the scraping noise of Akira righting and checking his bike.

Yashiki had to admit, he’d been surprised at just how well Akira took care of the motorcycle when they met two years ago. For him to let it lay on the ground in an alley was definitely abnormal. It was no wonder Mashita had called when he spotted it abandoned on his way home, voice as close to panic as Yashiki ever heard.

Pushing the thoughts away he quietly walked up to the boy, observing the way he tensed up despite Yashiki’s best efforts to be silent.

“What? Think I can’t handle getting chewed out?” Akira asked, back turned. He crouched down and started poking around the bike, seeming determined to look busy. “Wouldn’t be new. Probably one of my more deserved lectures.”

Yashiki sighed. “So you know going into a haunt alone was stupid? That you easily could have died?” Yashiki was certain there was a mild shake in Akira’s hands. “That you likely would have if Mashita hadn’t seen your bike.”

He waited for Akira to say something, or at least look at him but it seemed the bike was still more interesting. Or at least it was a convenient distraction. He let the silence grow heavy again before breaking it with a sigh.

“Can you at least say why you went? I know you’ve handled ghosts, worse ones too, but. Look, take it from me. A martyr complex only hurts everyone around you.”

This time Akira actually stopped, shoulders hunching up for a second before the fight drained out of him. He suddenly looked exhausted. “I know okay? I didn’t come here on purpose. Just heard some weird shit and went poking around. Thought it would just be some punks hanging in an ally or something.”

Akira stood back up, finally turning to actually look at Yashiki. The kid looked tired and frustrated, his scowl somehow deeper than usual. It made Yashiki feel a bit bad to be honest. “Quite the mistake. Maybe you’ll pay more attention to the articles on early haunting signs I gave you.” He smiled, trying to pass it as a light rib but Akira’s mood didn’t change at all.

“Sure.” He shoved his hands in his pockets and shrugged before turning back to his bike again. “Can I go then? Or you have something else to say?”

The response had Yashiki wanting to pull out his hair. He never wanted kids, felt he’d be terrible at it, and this awkward mentorship arrangement really felt like a cruel joke. “Akira. Just… be careful okay? You’re my responsibility and,” he paused, long enough for Akira to look back at him, “I worry alright?” The words felt clumsy but right. Akira gave him an odd look before looking away quickly.

“Yeah, okay old man.” He poked at his bike again. “I’ll be more careful, and uh, I’ll pay more attention.” Akira hopped on his bike, checking that the engine started before turning it off again. He leaned against the handle bars, looking back toward the building. “You should be more careful too though. Old men like you and that detective should be retired. Don’t want to find a new mentor for this ghost stuff.”

Yashiki smiled again, nodding even if Akira wasn’t looking. “Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll be stuck with eachother for a while.” The distant blare of his van’s horn broke the moment. He jumped, looking over his shoulder and trying his best to ignore Akira’s snicker behind him. “Yes, well, I guess that’s all. Wouldn’t want Mashita to lecture both of us.”

Akira laughed, engine starting again. “Sure. I’ll see you guys back at the mansion.”

“Don’t take the long way. I’m sure you’ll still have to face Mashita’s wrath for this, and waiting will just make him simmer.” Yashiki stood back, letting Akira drive out of the alley. He shook his head, hearing the horn blare again, sure that Mashita just saw Akira pass by. He’d do his best to calm the detective down on the drive, though to be honest he wasn’t going to be the best voice in this situation.

Mashita would just have to live with being cursed by self sacrificing idiots it seemed.
