Robert King (who grew up in a family of seven) told The Daily Beast that when it comes to the girls, “We encourage that nobody gets a line finished. Everybody’s interrupting.” That’s the kind of conversation that King grew up with: “There were no lone children talking. Everybody was talking at the same time.”

The Kings cast the Bouchard sisters in groups of four to gauge their chemistry.

The scripts usually contain sections labeled “daughters,” which list the various lines that should be shouted all at once. On filming day, Herbers and her TV brood huddle together to decide who gets to say what—and who gets an extra line or two. “I wait with my cues,” she said, “because they’ll just say the most ridiculous things and they’ll end up in the show. They’re great.”

Give Keisha Castle-Hughes all the awards! She as absolutely incredible in this standout episode for Hana. The mention of Jess brought tears to my eyes. This will be an episode that people remember for a long time.

Cast (thus far)

Mike Colter (Luke Cage) as David Acosta, a Catholic priest-in-training. Dacosta is tasked by the Church to assess unexplained phenomena to see if there is a supernatural or scientific explanation. (Feb 19)

Katja Herbers (Westworld) as Kristen Bouchard, a skeptical clinical psychologist. (Feb 15)

Aasif Mandvi (Blue Bloods) as Ben Shroff, a carpenter who was recruited for David’s team early on. Ben has a deep skepticism about all things supernatural. He is a genius at uncovering the organic reasons behind reported “hauntings,” but there may be things outside his understanding that will rattle his belief system. (Mar 5)

Michael Emerson (Person of Interest) as Leland Townsend, a seemingly kind and trustworthy man with a twinkle in his eye and an appealing manner. But outward appearances couldn’t be more deceiving. An expert witness for the defense in a mass-murder case, Townsend actually might be an agent of evil who spurs his followers to acts of unspeakable violence and murder. (Mar 1)
