BUT BUT BUT!!

i absolutely adored the scene towards the end where kareena kapoor slaps that daljeet man and sets him straight.

this was one of the very few movies where the woman is in fact a terrible person who commits heinous crimes. however, her full personhood is fleshed out. she’s not simply evil. yes she is a bad person, but there is reason to her cruelty.

I want to ask, did you mean that the major draw card for the audience was only Arnav & Arshi , whereas everyone knows major draw card was khushi & Arshi as a couple ? IPKKND got 2.2 or 2.4 trp in the guest house episode (khushi's outburst). Also trp didn't go down during kidnapping track. It went down during Didi ki saut track because Daljeet demanded more screen time, justified her character's action and lied about show's initial name.

I think you're saying the same thing as I did -- only you are applying hindsight and looking at TRP, and I was saying that it was unclear at the time of airing whether a track led by Irani and focussing solely on Khushi would draw the audience. Hence the extra elements that seem superfluous now.
