So the gsa orb knights (or "Round Table Knights" as I personally like to call them HAH) have like three sets of names. Little known thing is their ACTUAL names in the subs are Othur, Fercival, Dalagad, and Nancelot - the round table knight names one letter off/swapped. The dub ALMOST gets this right, but it's literally just the round table knight names. Then, the names everyone knows - Nonsurat Falspar Dragato - are from the fansubber originally subbing them entirely off ear the one (1) time they were spoken in the sub (Snack Attack.) I have brainrot for these characters

Okay its unclear but it SEEMS their names are based on the knights from Arthurian legend, but one or two letters off

So Arthur becomes Orthur

Galahad becomes Dalagad

Lancelot becomes Nancelot

Percival becomes Fercival

The names Falspar, Dragato etc were what I used in the old subs because I didn't realize what they were supposed to be and that was the closest I could figure out from how they're said in Japanese.

Aside from Arthur none of them had names in the dub

Welcome to me procastinating the fanfics again just because now apparently I attempted to look back to the Kirby anime just to see whatever juicy content I could yoink, then get confused because turns out the anime and the fandom has different opinions on naming the knights that appeared in the final episodes

Sincerely, An AU writer who only remembers their names as the four legendary knights of the Arthurian legend, but felt like it'd be funnier to use fandom names

I have terrible news

I prolly got these guy’s names wrong again. 

Including Sir Arthur’s.

I can’t believe I missed it originally, but Sir Arthur in Japanese is written as ‘Aasaa’ but the Kirby character is ‘Oosaa’.

So more likely it’s meant to be... ‘Sir Orthur’.

Same with the others- the original ‘Falspar Dragato’ names are def wrong, but they’re also not just Percival Galahad etc  o_o;;

Like ‘Sir Orthur’, they’re the Round Table names but one letter off/swapped.

It’s still a bit hard to heard the letters exactly since a lot of em can sound the same, but near as I can tell if you follow that naming convention...

Lancelot would likely be ‘Nancelot’, Percival sounds like ‘Farcival/Fercival’, and Galahad sounds like ‘Dalagad’ or possibly ‘Palagad’ but I lean toward the former.

Maybe someday we’ll get an official release with captions and this mystery will be 100% solved but we’re getting closer at least eh?

I’ve spent the past two days drawing all the major reoccurring characters in my Dragon Knight story. I realized it had been several years since I gave them proper attention as a group, so I took the time to update their appearances as well as try and sort out the facial and color difference between all of them.

They’re all equally ridiculous looking, every one of them could be the main character of an anime. I’ve created a mess.

Okay for the new version of the subs, which names should I use for these bastards?

While I still don’t know the exact English spelling they were going for, I DO know they’re all meant to be based on Knights of the Round Table, so the new names would be more accurate at the least.

I can understand people wanting to keep the old names but the stickler in me wants to use the more accurate ones lol...
