Couch surfing and temp jobs were a way of life for Daisy Daniels after she aged out of the foster care system. She’s always taken life one day at a time and gone with the flow. What she never expected is that flow would lead her down a raging current of uncertainty about her life and the world she knows.
River, Ocean, and Bayou Waterson need someone to keep their island home neat and tidy, but they have a problem. They can’t trust any old cleaning service. They need to find someone who will be willing to overlook their differences. What they never expected was to find a live-in maid they would all love.
When Daisy discovers the celebrity treasure hunters are really mermen, will she be able to keep her head above water? An ancient prophecy brings danger to their doorstep. Forces she never imagined are conspiring to destroy everything that matters to her. The only thing that can save her is a bond she can’t break. Saving the world definitely wasn’t in the job description.

The Durrells Digital Art
Obviously, I’m in my feels and wanted to create something else for the reshowing that is happening Sunday’s on ITV. Canva is pretty limited on things in terms of specifics so I had to take some creative liberties especially with Larry and Margo. This took far too long (4 hours) for how basic it is, but when you’re bored and in your feels, you gotta do something. Maybe some of you will appreciate this anyway.
**Update: Originally, I had included Luga on here but the more I looked at it, the more I didn’t like it so I removed her. She was the hardest to find something for and while I’m sad to have taken her away, I think this just works a bit better.**

A playlist for the equivalent of the sequence where Francis thinks Richard and Sibylla have drowned (through to the revelations at Calais if you want) please.
My god you're evil Katherine <3
Nothing but the Cathartic
A band AU playlist for a six hour hungover drive through the night to confirm whether the relatives you keep trying to estrange yourself from, who you actually love beyond words, have drowned*
1) Kate Bush - Watching You Without Me 2) Joan Baez - House Carpenter 3) Jean-Roger Caussimon - La Manche 4) The Watersons - Idumea 5) John Lennon - Mother 6) Lady Maisery - The Changeling's Lullaby 7) Sily Sisters - Burning of Auchindoon 8) Anne Briggs - Lowlands 9) Justin Hayward & John Lodge - My Brother 10) Maddy Prior & Tim Hart - I Live Not Where I Love 11) Joni Mitchell [Morgan James, because Spotify] - The Last Time I Saw Richard 12) Pentangle - Lyke-Wake Dirge 13) Nic Jones - Isle of France 14) Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem - Crossing the Bar 15) Charles Trenet - La Mer
'Then all the more credit to you,' said Erskine, seating himself, 'for entertaining such strong family feelings. We heard of your ride. I trust you are now quite rested after it.' The young man's mouth opened. 'The ride!' He sat down. 'My dear sir, the ride was nothing but the cathartic. It was the banquet at the Hôtel de Ville that did for me.'
*n.b. for a real hungover night drive you should a) let Archie drive and b) choose louder songs to keep you awake
I know I should be posting the celebrating-Thatcher’s-demise playlist today, but that one isn’t ready, so you get a miserable mourning one instead whoops
1) This is from The Ninth Wave, the B-side of Hounds of Love about a woman lost at sea. It's her pov on her relatives waiting for her to return - so the reverse of Francis imagining Sibylla and Richard are dead, but Sibylla wants to see what he's like imaging Richard's dead, and in terms of the misunderstandings and not-hearing-each-others it seems fitting for the fmaily at this point. 2) A folk song about a woman who had an affair with some devil (also known as The Demon Lover), is later persuaded by him to leave her husband and child and then drowns at sea when he deliberately sinks their ship. Not that I think any of this applies to Sibylla, but atmospherically I think Francis, who is not currently certain of his past, would find it fittingly painful. 3) Don't @ me I couldn't find a transcript of the lyrics and my French isn't good enough to know that it fits exactly, but it sounds good for the kind of crooner FRC was, for the soundtrack to Sibylla's past in France, and obviously La Manche is the French name for the English Channel. 4) A sacred harp song re-introduced to the UK by the Watersons, it's just a great mourning song. 5) If the lyrics to this seem unfair to Francis, Sibylla and FRC, or even overly kind on Gavin, then just think about how much misunderstanding there is between everyone, how much distrust there is and how much isn't being said that needs to be said at this point of the story. 6) Ok, this is one modern folk song I allowed myself because I thought it fitted Francis' fears of what he is to Sibylla so well. Plus imagine the way this could be interpreted from Sibylla's pov, knowing who the words are actually referring to: 'Your father says you're not his own nor any child of man's, / But I think you have your father's smile, your father's gentle hands, / And I pray that you will love me like your father used to do, / So hush awhile, my darling, so I might know it's you.' 7) It's really more of a GoK song, but that's emblemetic enough of the tangled Crawford relationships anyway: 'As I came in by Fiddich side on a May morning / Auchindoon was in a blaze an hour before the dawning / Crawing, crawing, for all your crowse crawing / You've burnt your crops and tint your wings / An hour before the dawning.' 8) Drowned lover appears to woman in a dream. Another great angsty ballad. 9) Perhaps on the surface more of a 'Richard about Francis' song, but given the reference to the hand at the bridle when Francis suddenly realises his brother's not dead, it might also be a bit about Francis' idea of Richard when he was young. Plus 'So far / aross a wild and windy sea / So far / That our voices are / Divided by an ocean / An ocean.' 10) Again, technically written as a song for a lover, but I think it still fits Francis' feelings about home and family and his difficult relationship with Scotland and Midculter. 11) Bit on the nose? Mm. 'Richard got married to a figure skater And he bought her a dishwasher and a coffee percolator And he drinks at home now most nights with the TV on And all the house lights left up bright. I'm gonna blow this damn candle out I don't want nobody comin' over to my table I got nothing to talk to anybody about All good dreamers pass this way someday Hidin' behind bottles in dark cafés Dark cafés, only a dark cocoon Before I get my gorgeous wings and fly away Only a phase, these dark café days.' 12) It's another banging mourning song from the canon of twentieth century folk revival! 13) The story is of a convict washing up from a shipwreck and being pardoned - you'd imagine Francis would see himself in it to an extent, while also thinking he deserves neither life nor pardon. 14) Another slight anachronism, because Katherine mentioned another recent version (by False Lights), and this is the arrangement that inspired that one. The song, however, is a Tennyson poem, and it had been set to choral music before, so it would sort of be known to Francis. 15) Again, big French crooner from Sibylla's glamour days, imagine her recuperating with this playing in the background as Francis steps into the room to see she's alive, while thinking Richard isn't...

merthur fic recs: actor!arthur pt 3
1. No Flash Photography! by TheCourtSorcerer (@tcs-main)
“Oh, oh! Look at this one!” Arthur snorted, staring at his phone as he sat next to Merlin on the couch in the living room of their flat that evening. Merlin tore his eyes away from the movie they were supposed to be watching and raised an eyebrow at his boyfriend.
“What is it now?” He almost didn’t want to ask. When Arthur used that voice, it was almost always some bogus gossip story trying to either make them look bad, create a crazy affair for them, or somehow do both at the same time. He grimaced slightly, wondering which one of them and what it would be this time.
Arthur scooted closer and wrapped an arm around him, holding his phone between them so they could both read the screen. “Looks like you’ve got a secret girlfriend I didn’t know about! Who is this Freya Waterson, Merlin? I’m simply heartbroken!” He feigned distress, almost immediately killing the ruse by grinning stupidly.
-OR-
Arthur & Merlin, well-known actors who play leading characters Brenin & Gwyn in popular show Once & Future, have been together for eight years, everyone knows it! Well... They thought everyone knew it.
~~~
kind of random but that scene where they were acting as brenin and gwyn made me squeal. i adore that subtle reference to the actual merlin show. their interactions with eh once and future fandom is also really cute and it made me smile soo hard.
2. world looks better by helloearthlings
The next night, there were already flowers in Arthur’s dressing room when he returned from offstage – daisies this time, a little classier than grocery store flowers. The note inside them was just signed –M but it made Arthur smile. When he got home, he added them to the slightly upturned bowl of water that was holding the last night’s bouquet.
The next night, they were daffodils. The night after that, they were tulips. The night after that, Arthur finally bought a vase.
~~~
i adore this fic so much. it’s so cute and fluffy and “you can’t possibly think i’m still asking about the part” made me squeal.
3. Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies by rageynerd (@rageynerd)
Arthur Pendragon, coined the prince of film, is more than unimpressed with Hollywood's latest rising star Merlin Emrys. He comes in with naivety and a chip on his shoulder and, when they're cast as co stars in the same movie, he is sure that Merlin won't last long.
Merlin can’t stand that absolute tosser, Arthur Pendragon, that everyone seems to love. But he must learn how to make peace with him if he can star alongside him for this many months— in a romance, no less.
They both plan on leaving each other alone and focusing on work until the fans decide they love them together, and in an act of good publicity, Arthur and Merlin must spend way more time together than either of them want.
~~~
ahhh the fake dating with mutual pining trope!!! i adore arthur’s inner monologue and pining in this fic. it’s so well written.
IN RISE OF SKYWALKER, REY AND BEN SOLO ARE MORE IN SYNC AGAINST PALPATINE THAN YOU COULD EVER KNOW
In her 25-year career as a stunt double and now stunt coordinator, Eunice Huthart has helped embody some of the most memorable genre action sequences in cinematic history. Her work is featured in huge films like Children of Men, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Justice League, and she’s been the personal stunt double for Angelina Jolie since Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
An integral member of the global stunt community, Huthart is also a crucial member and voice in the vanguard of women injecting their perspectives into the action oeuvre.
Most recently, Huthart acted as stunt coordinator for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, executing every aspect of director J.J. Abrams' vision, from Rey’s initial training sequence all the way to her final showdown against Palpatine with Ben Solo. With her support team of stunt professionals and fellow coordinators, Huthart used her decades of experience and creativity to craft set pieces that would make their own memorable impact, but also help cap an entire saga.
Audiences always remember an epic ending, so SYFY WIRE asked Huthart to break down Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Ben Solo’s (Adam Driver) momentous confrontation with clone Palpatine in the Sith chamber on Exegol in the last act of Rise of Skywalker.
From the advance prep with the actors to the grace notes that add emotional depth to the physicality, Huthart takes us through it all ...
PLANNING THE FINAL SHOWDOWN
"[From the start], J.J. had mentioned to me that he wanted the end scene to be so memorable, so I was just working on stuff. At the time, it [involved] Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) but we weren't allowed to even say the word. We would get in so much trouble.
He even had a code name, 'Thirteen,' and you were always supposed to use the code name. But I would forget that. [Laughs]
I'd be chatting with J.J. on a set and I'd be like, 'Oh, J.J., I had this great idea for Palpatine where he comes through that...' And then the whole set got quiet and would be staring at me. And I'd be like, 'Oh, bollocks.'
We were conceptually thinking of stuff way, way, way before we even started rehearsals for the movie. In January 2017, we had about a month of conceptual design. J.J. just left me to my own devices and we would design the moves and some kind of different strategies for the characters. One of the things I wanted to deliver is that Rey and Kylo Ren (Driver) progress with their Jedi powers. So we just accentuated that just a little bit more, which J.J. embraced.
What we did with Daisy is we made her lighter on her feet. We wanted her to be grounded, but we wanted her to be a lot lighter on her feet. I made her watch things like middle-distance runners to see how they move and how they just look so light when they run.
With Adam, he’s got a very unique stance. His hips are really tight, actually. I think it's from being tall for a lot of his life, so he must always be hunched looking down or trying to match people's height. We loosened up his hips so that he would look [even] taller, and [we set] his shoulders back. We were working on back exercises with his personal trainer, Simon Waterson. We were working on getting his stance looking different.
Then one of the other things we did is we made the lightsaber lighter in weight than what they were used to. So in their movements, all of a sudden they were moving this lightsaber very quickly, a lot more [quickly] than what they were in the other two movies. It was those subtle differences we wanted to embrace."
BEN SOLO'S BIG MOMENT
"I kept on at Adam saying, 'When you are Ben, how are we going to do it differently?' He's like, 'You got to give me time, you got to give me time.' In the meantime, we went back [to plan]. Because he was Ben, we threw in a few Easter eggs emulating things that Han Solo (Harrison Ford) did in some of the movies.
I think it was a bit of all of them, really. J.J. wanted a version. Adam wanted a version. I just wanted to pay homage. All I wanted is that when Kylo was Ben, that there was something slightly different about him. Just in his costume as well, it helped it a little bit. It was the undershirt so it looked a bit different and it made him look lighter. I think we did something different with his hair as well. So just that nuance to the eye would have made a change, and then Adam just did his own thing.
We did say, 'How about when Harrison does this and when Harrison did that in that movie, should we put [it] in?' Which he did.
I'd say it was predominantly Adam, really. He really researches his character. He comes in very, very well prepared as an actor, which again just makes my life very easy. I'd say that was all Adam, with me and J.J. maybe adding a little bit of salt and pepper, that's all."
THE DYAD IN TANDEM
"We considered [the dyad] all the time with each of [their] choreography. That was J.J.'s vision from day one.
Even in the very, very first draft of the script, that was always his vision, [that their styles] were always going to be intercut. We knew that. We just considered it when we were doing the choreography.
It was quite an easy process because we fully understood the vision that J.J. wanted. And I always knew the editor is just going to enhance it. You know, the impact of it is going to be so well-told on the screen.
We did [the separate fights] with the doubles. At that point, it was hard getting the actors because filming was so intense for both of them. So we did it with the doubles.
It was a well-worked-up sequence and it was planned that way. The plan worked well."
PALPATINE DRAINING THE DYAD
"I mean that was just all the actors, really. At that point, it was easy for Daisy to be exhausted. It was virtually the last day of filming, as well, so it was easy for Daisy to be very exhausted.
Whenever we choreograph a fight and whenever we're going through the beats, we're always very clear on where the character is and how much energy the character is bringing in. And that's where J.J. is great because he has a great manner in which he explains to the actors exactly what he envisions the character to be, and what they're doing. So it was very little from me, if I'm honest. It was a great compilation of J.J. directing the guys.
For example, while we were rehearsing, we would put Daisy and Adam — but on separate occasions — in a harness and we'd have a push-pull kind of thing. We'd have them fighting against that push-pull and saying, “This is the exhaustion you should be feeling at the end when you drop to your knees and you're done. This is how empty you are at that point.”
And they love it because they just embraced anything that we wanted to bring them so that they knew where they were with the characters. So, we did do R&D work with them, but I have to say, they were so good that they always found it, if that makes sense."
Faceclaim Options
While I start building the character list, I wanted to give everyone the option to choose their own faceclaims/types of characters. I went ahead and compiled a list of 1920s/30s television shows and movies that we could use. (Obviously, this isn’t a comprehensive list, and if you can think of others, let me know!)
If you have an idea for a character, shoot me a message or text, so I can integrate them into the Berry world. Also, if you have a certain faceclaim you want to use, let me know. I’ll come up with names, relationships, etc. I figured I’d let you guys build the bones of a character if you wanted to though.
Meg Baird Interview — 2007
Sunday interview! This one was conducted way back when via email. Dear Companion is still great! In fact, most everything Meg Baird does is great -- have you checked out the Heron Oblivion live LP?! Wow. I also hear rumors of an upcoming collab LP with harpist extraordinaire Mary Lattimore.
With her lovely-from-start-to-finish solo debut Dear Companion (Drag City), Meg Baird takes a break from her duties in the Philadelphia psych-folk collective Espers. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, though. The ten songs here are deeply rooted in traditional song forms (from age-old British Isles ballads to Appalachian laments), as well as the 60s and 70s singer-songwriter era (from Jimmy Webb to New Riders of the Purple Sage). With a few of Baird's own originals mixed in, Dear Companion stands as one of the best all-acoustic records since Gillian Welch's Time (The Revelator). Mostly comprised of Baird's high, pure vocals and intricately picked guitar, the album conjures up the timeless and universal nature of the best folk music. We chatted with Meg about her inspirations, obscure Canadian folksingers and Bob Dylan's amphetamine-fueled ramblings.
Whether it's performed by the Everly Brothers, Bob Dylan, Norma Waterson, Michael Hurley or by you on Dear Companion, "The Cruelty of Barbary Allen" is one of those songs that always stops me in my tracks. What do you think it is about this 500+-year-old song that gives it such a powerful resonance even today? How did you come to record it for the album?
My version came from an amalgamation of Michael Hurley's version from Sweetkorn and another from a Jean Ritchie recording with a totally different melody — these are my two favorites. I learned this one just for Michael actually. About three years ago, he agreed to try and record a few songs for a few days with Espers during a stop on his spring east coast tour — just to see what happened. This was one of his top recommendations to try so of course I learned it just in case.
Perhaps the resonance of this song is a little bit cumulative? For a contemporary listener, if you've made a decision to actually forgo your healthy cynicism for all the maudlin associations genuinely attached to this sort of material, then you are listening with a pretty well primed imagination. The main storyline here is so straight — two young ones eventually killing themselves over a misunderstanding in a lover's quarrel. But the way each scene unfolds gives us all the vantage point to protest "No, don't do it, it should all work out!" just like we would in any horror film or melodrama. It's a very unifying populist pastime to hope that it will all work out, when we know that it won't. This experience can so easily become twisted into pure manipulation, but here it can feel wonderful — like a chance to just experience a feeling in a spectrum of feelings. The colors in this world seem so vibrant, the perception of history so vibrant. You've made these scenes all yourself, and they seem safe from being diminished by the elements.
Listening to Dear Companion (not to mention your work with Espers) I'm reminded of this old quote from Dylan: "What folk music is... is based on myths and the Bible and plague and famine and all kinds of things like that which are nothing but mystery and you can see it in all the songs … All these songs about roses growing out of people's brains and lovers who are really geese and swans that turn into angels … and seven years of this and eight years of that and it's all really something that nobody can touch ... (the songs) are not going to die." What do you think – is this an accurate summing up of the so-called folk tradition, or was Bob just blazing on amphetamines when he said that?
Probably your last theory about amphetamines is true, but aside from that, this is a pretty adept description of mystery in folk song. Although it is a really amped up, exceptionally urgent description, it also seems in keeping with a tone used very commonly at that time. His urgency especially makes sense with the last line, about how "(the songs) are not going to die." Maybe I agree with this very believably passionate depiction of being moved by this music, but perhaps I don't get to share in his blazing confidence in its immortality.
What/who was the album/song/artist that really turned you on to folk music? What made you think: "I want to do something like this."
I'm sure it is a really long, ongoing series of events, but one flash moment like the one you describe, particularly in relation to straight traditional music, happened when I was 19 (reasonably well-versed in the college radio canon of the time) and my sister Laura took me to a Sheila Kay Adams performance. I certainly did not ever think that I could do anything quite like that, but it literally opened up a world of possibilities of what music and performance can do, in addition to helping me see ways around some of the obstacles that can come up around identity hang-ups concerning audience, format and other limitations sometimes imposed by self-flattery. I got a chance to meet her a few years ago and tried to thank her and tell her about this experience I'd had, but all I did was burst into tears like a crazy person. Hopefully she understood something good in my maligned attempt to communicate my extreme appreciation.
The spare, uncluttered sound of Dear Companion really makes it stand out from much of the music being released today. Was making such an austere record your intention going into the recording process? Do you imagine that your subsequent recordings will continue in this vein, or do you have string sections and trumpets and backup singers in your future?
Sparsity and warmth were definitely guiding intensions. I used overdubs to add some imagination to the record and save it from being too literal. By the final mix, I thought it would be fun to think of vocal and guitar overdubs as my only allowed effects or "tricks" For this reason, I got a great kick out of selecting only one brief moment of Space Echo-drenched electric. With the rest of the record being so spare, it was a really enjoyable method to try and emphasize this effect to its maximum.
I don't know yet how I'll record the songs I'm writing for the next record. I'm sure that I will want to try something new, but seeing now just how clearly I totally over-thought the sparsity issue, I guess that new approach could really take any shape.
I'm familiar with a few of the artists whose songs you cover here – Jimmy Webb, New Riders of the Purple Sage – but Fraser & Debolt are completely new to me. What can you tell me about them and this fantastic song you've included, "The Waltze of the Tennis Players"?
I know very little about Daisy Debolt, Allan Fraser or Ian Guenther much other than that they are Canadian and they made this completely amazing record together that a good deal of people seem to truly love. (I think that the "hit" was their knockout version of "Don't Let Me Down") "Waltze" in particular must be one of the most imaginative songs on the subject of courtship that I have ever heard. The whole record is incredibly tender, raw and earthy; seemingly fueled by the same kind of human will and warmth that keeps a person alive through the winter. Despite how outwardly folky this record is, it has always reminds me a great deal of Dead Moon. A really nice, in-depth fan Web site is maintained for Fraser & Debolt.
Tell me a bit about the recording process for Dear Companion. What did your Espers band mate Greg Weeks bring to the proceedings? Were there songs that you attempted but that didn't make the final cut?
I recorded this album on a few long, spare afternoons during the recording of [Espers'] II. My plan was to prepare madly for the taping sessions and get everything on tape in very early takes. I had been playing some of these songs for years, some only for a month, but all of them required a great deal of rehearsal for these sessions.
Greg brought his incredibly adept engineering ears, great gear sensibility and some really gutsy approaches to the recording levels that wound up having a pretty interesting effect over the whole record itself. It was also great to have someone so talented to bounce tracking ideas off of and to double check on my performance quality. We work together all the time, so of course Greg was able to really help me keep to this goal of recording these songs very quickly and comfortably with little fuss or ramp up time.
I dropped the bridge from "Waltze" because the original creates a level of blasting off that I truly couldn't pull off to any good effect. Among other missed selections, my version of Peter Hammill's "(On Tuesdays She Used to Do) Yoga" will just have to remain mine for private enjoyment.
Now that the album is soon to be out in stores, what are your plans? Are you going to play any solo shows? What's next for Meg Baird!?
I have lots of plans, unfortunately none of them so well formulated to tell you anything specific. I have a very busy imagination, perhaps too busy, and Espers is quite busy at the moment as well. Despite all of this, I definitely am trying to arrange some public performances timed near the release in late May.
The Durrells Series 4 Cut and Extended Scenes
A quick note: Some episodes of extended scenes had characters walking up the stairs, or walking up to the house door before the scene would continue. Therefore, I did not include those as cut scenes. Most of the episodes had between 6 and 8 extra scenes. But for some reason, episode 2 only had 3. I’m not sure if there was just something I missed or if this is truly how it was. Any other Americans who have seen this episode, let me know if I’ve missed anything and I will add it for everyone!
Google Drive link
Descriptions of scenes from each episode:
Episode 1 - had a total of 6 cut /extended scenes
In the beginning, when Louisa tells the girls and Basil about how much rent will be, Gerry makes a comment and then Margo mocks him.
After Louisa has served Basil his breakfast, we see Margo enter and Louisa tells her to have fun at work. Then Margo grabs a piece of toast and leaves. After that, Basil makes a rude comment about her.
The first time we see Margo at work with Theo, they hear a commotion before Florence walks in. Margo says, “Please can this be a team of handsome cricket players needing x-rays?” And then there is another moment where Florence actually speaks to little Adonis about her hair.
When Louisa and Larry are out on the terrace chatting and Basil makes his comment about going to the loo, there is more dialogue between Larry and Louisa.
There is a scene between Gerry and Luga in the kitchen where they talk about the owl and then Luga says, “I will hit it with a broom.” Then Leslie walks in exclaiming, “Evict him!” This is followed by Louisa coming in to tell them she is going to market and asks Leslie to come along because they need a hatstand.
The final extended scene we see is after the police Superintendent has searched the house for Vang. Larry, Leslie, and Gerry walk him out and then the Super asks where Louisa has disappeared to.
Episode 2 - had only 3 extra scenes. This was an episode where we saw other little clips such as one of the pelicans walking out in the yard but it was like 3 seconds long so I didn’t include it.
Towards the beginning of the episode, there is a cut scene between Louisa, Florence, and Theo. She tells them about Margo “missing” and then Florence teases her for droning on about Spiros. Also, Louisa calls Theo an “Honorary woman.”
There is a scene of Basil trying to do things to impress Louisa after their discussion in the kitchen, we see her walk into the house and he is sitting on a bench darning. She tells him he doesn’t have to do it but he does anyway lol.
And finally, we see a scene of Louisa bandaging his thumbs because he has pricked them so many times. Then he says he’s going into town (to buy the bridge) and Louisa says, “Please look for Margo and tell her to come home.” There is some more dialogue before (with Gerry) and after this but I didn’t want to write out too much.
Episode 3 - had 6 cut /extended scenes
First of all, it has a completely different beginning. Instead of it starting with Louisa seeing Spiros and his wife in the market, Louisa does something funny (that I don’t want to give away). We then see her join Leslie in the sitting room and they discuss going to see Larry and the picnic. Also, the fancy bottle of wine was a gift to Larry from Henry Miller.
Then scene in the kitchen with Leslie, Basil, Luga, and two of the guests after the Countess says she’s going to call Luga ‘Jill,’ Leslie makes a comment about the other guest that is sitting at the table as well.
When Louisa gets back from the market after seeing Spiros and his wife and then Leslie goes up to her room, there is more dialogue between them as he asks Louisa what Dimitria was like.
As they are on their journey to visit Larry after poor Theo has gotten sick over Leslie, there is a bit of an extended scene where Luga exclaims, “We’re here!” and then we see Leslie put his shorts back on.
In the Taverna with Creech, after he has admitted to reading Louisa’s letter to Larry, Theo scolds him about it.
The last different scene is when they are all getting back in Spiros’ car to leave the Taverna. Instead of the dialogue between Louisa and Dimitria where Lou says, “What a chance to get to know each other better.” and Dimitria replies, “We already know each other well enough.” Leslie and Gerry switch places with Luga so that she can sit by the “window” seat since she gets carsick. And then Louisa makes a comment, “Wriggling about. Reminds me of being pregnant.”(I may have screeched lol)
Episode 4 - had 8 in total.
When we see Margo trying to tutor Maud at the beginning of the episode, this is extended a bit.
We actually see a scene of Louisa walking through Corfu town on her way to Florence’s and people whispering about her. Then I have combined it with the scene of her getting the list of things from Florence. Originally, at the end of that scene Louisa said, “That’s your my lips are sealed face.” and then the scene ended. However, this time we heard Florence reply, “Possibly more than a flirt.” in reference to Dimitria.
Before the little montage of all the neighbors spying on them, there is a tiny scene between Leslie and Gerry.
When Louisa returns from talking to Theo and finds Spiros in the kitchen and he offers her tea, we actually see him removing the kettle from the stove. Then he sees her enter and greets her with, “Welcome home!” (100% screeched and then died at that). I included the rest of the scene that followed after that because GDI THEY ARE JUST SO CUTE!
When Louisa gathers all of the guests together to tell them they need to be on their best behavior and Veronica makes the comment, “You harbored a fugitive.” Louisa says, “Let’s not rake over the past.” and then mentions that she received a postcard from Vang saying that he has a job.
Later, before Louisa and the boys return home from church and are making fun of the service, we actually see them walking out looking exhausted and Pavlos comments that he hopes to see them again.
When Louisa asks Theo and Spiros what they can do to make the people of Corfu think better of them again, the scene is slightly extended. Harry and Lumos walk in and offer to dance with each other and of course, Luga comes in with a hilarious quip.
At the very end of the episode, when Louisa is in the kitchen before Spiros comes in and asks if he can move in for a bit, the Countess is with her and they talk about Gerry.
Episode 5 - 8 cut or extended scenes
The first 12 minutes of the episode is the same, but when we see Gerry cleaning out of one of the zoo cages and Theo comes to speak to him, the scene is extended.
The scene between Louisa and Florence where they talk about the pastries Lou and Spiros have made, the scene is extended at the end. She asks Florence where all of her patients are.
The second time we see Margo on the train is extended a bit.
There is more dialogue between Leslie and Gerry in the Boy Scout scene when Leslie takes his woggle.
When Louisa goes up to Basil’s room to confront him about Dimitria, there is more dialogue before he says that he’s going to leave.
In the scene where the boys are now sleeping in Louisa’s room and they are chatting, there is a bit more dialogue between the three of them. Louisa says something along the lines of them being more Greek now (*heart eyes*).
After Spiros goes home to grab his suit that he will be wearing for the king, we see Louisa in the kitchen asking one of the guests what he thinks of the pastries she’s made. He just shakes his head and she mutters under her breath, “Missing you more than ever Spiros.”(That took me out)
And the last extended scene we see is when they are waiting in the square to watch the movie. Gerry walks up and apologizes to Leslie about being a “brat” before. Then there is a bit more between them and a great ‘Louisa-sips-her-wine face’ from Keeley.
Episode 6 - 8 scenes in total. Sadly, nothing special between Louisa and Spiros, especially that scene from the promo that was also cut from the ITV version (S: “It’s not about me.” L: “It is. I want it to be.”). I was really hoping it would be included in the PBS version, but for whatever reason, it was not and I’m upset.
The scene in which Gerry is explaining some animals to people at his Zoo, but Galini has to translate for him is extended.
When we see Luga walking through the town with the props for the show, there is actually another line she says to herself about the poster that she stops to look at.
After Margo has spoken to Nikos and Theo walks in, she asks him to ring the breakfast gong and then Larry comes in.
Directly after that, the dialogue between Larry and Leslie is a bit different.
We actually see a scene of Theo and Gerry caging up all of his animals to set them free.
Then we see a scene of Leslie, Louisa, and Luga talking about them leaving. This is slightly extended with Louisa seeing Gerry chasing after one of the pelicans.
Just before Margo comes in to talk to Louisa about waiting until marriage, we see Louisa gathering some things from the kitchen and then greeting two guests and telling them about the play.
And finally, after Louisa and Spiros’ scene at the beach, we are taken back to the play and see a bit of Dr. P’s part (lol).
