i feel like the north, with all its snowy and honorable knighthood and swordfighting themes did well in having characters like ozeca and zoey as a nod to the contrary (as well as the occasional camo print uniform suit) but IMO, it’s a cop out to simultaneously dilute zoey with 3000 other applesque and knight themes (current diamond arena) and give ozeca -0.8 seconds of screen time but i’m really not here to complain.

i just think that this wouldn’t be an issue if there was inspiration from the right places, because if you want to write a badass military lady you’re at a loss if you allude to everything else but ignore the soul of the contemporary military type, of which i believe to be the usaamerican WTF IS A KILOMETER tactical crayon eater and patriot gun slinger. i’m just saying if the north wants to acknowledge the existence of a modern military lets👏go👏all👏the👏way👏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Finding Hope in Usopp: A Personal Reflection on His Journey and What He Means to Me

Though I can’t predict the future, I’ll remember this period of my life as one filled with hope, anticipation, and a deep need for comfort and reassurance. Based on what I’ve seen online, I won’t let my appreciation for Usopp become something sad or bitter. Even if Oda doesn’t exceed expectations, or if he fumbles the bag, it might be fair to call that cruel. But despite everything, I’ll always be grateful for getting to know Usopp. I’m glad I gave One Piece a chance and that I declared Usopp as my favorite character.

Years from now, when I’m older and in a better place, and when the hope I’ve held onto has finally paid off, I’ll be able to say that Usopp and his journey gave me something to look forward to. He gave me hope. I even joked with my sister, 'You’re probably going to clown me for my hyperfixation on Usopp and One Piece for years to come.' And she replied, 'Of course.' I can accept that.

To me, and many others in the fandom, Usopp represents hope—the idea that no matter what, there’s always something worth holding onto. It’s the journey that truly matters. When the Final Saga ends, or at least the next arc, I’ll look back and say that Usopp helped me come of age again, reconnecting with the 19-year-old version of myself that I miss. Usopp will be a cherished memory, a symbol of the hope I clung to when that’s all I had.

That’s my projection. That’s my comfort. Like anything with a good heart and good intentions, hope and comfort often come from those who truly care about you—and that’s rare. I want to be that for someone, just as Usopp needs that in return. Not just because of my deep perception of him, but because everything Usopp does is valid in one way or another. He deserves to be seen, just like everyone else.

So, yeah. That’s my spiel. I’m leaving this here to remind myself what Usopp means to me.
