prompt : you and your best friend eunchae were like cher and dion, you being self obsessed believing everyone and everything likes you and eunchae keep n you in check. but the one time you think someone doesn’t like you is the one day that someone new enters your gym class and eunchae can obviously tell they have some feelings for you.

“watch it ! this is prada !”. you pointed to your bag as eunchae giggled her head hitting the wire fence.

“I really don’t know why they moved us outside.. I don’t need red bites all over my skin when jake asks me out”. eunchae covered her mouth but still laughed.

“what..?”. you clutch’s stour purse and turned towards the girl.

“no offense..”. you sighed.

“but you would have more luck on some jake from royal high asking you out before jake actual does”. you pouted and turned to face the jock. he was flexing his biceps to yeji and her group; who were swooning.

“he winked at me in bio”. you tapped your foot as you turned to eunchae and smiled. the smile immediately dropped as eunchae opened her mouth.

“he winked and ning too”

“how-“

“she bragged to me right after it happened”. you slid down the fence hands over your face.

“that.. that doesn’t mean I don’t have a chance !”. eunchae slid down right next to you.

“he’s oogling chaer’s boobs.. I don’t think you want a chance..”. you giggled as eunchae nudged you.

“you still like girls right?”. you nodded.

“try one of ‘em out then.. for once !”. you hit the girls head and as p.e. ended went on about your day.

you tilted your glasses down as you walked into the gym. usually jake was flirting, chaewon was hitting on sakura, and eunchae was flexing the fact she could actually dance but everyone was in a straight line..

eunchae caught your eye and called you over.

“what-“

“new girl”. eunchae pointed to the p.e. coach and your eyes furrowed as you looked beside her. some six foot girl stood next to her.

“this is yunah.. she’s new to the school and came in this period”. your coach seemed to glare at the girl and, her head in turn went down. you swore you heard a little ‘sorry’ and you giggled.

“what was that y/n?”. eunchae froze while you smiled.

“sorry was just wondering why we’re still standing here and not playing basketball..”. you swore you saw your coach’s eyes light up. she dismissed everyone and eunchae dragged you over to the bleachers.

“her eyes were glued to you !”. you laughed.

“I would hope so I was talking”. eunchae rolled her eyes and then glanced at yunah.

“look”. you lazily turned your gaze to the tall girl and your eyes noticeable got bigger once you realized they were on you. as soon as yunah realized she walked away.

“so I’m hot..!” eunchae rolled her eyes then got bigger.

“what-“

“thanks”. you looked up. yunah was right infront of you staring anywhere but at you.

“for.. distracting coach”

“oh that’s nothing.. ni-ki does that on a daily basis. eunchae laughed and soon yunah did too.

“that’s it.. bye..”. before you could open your mouth again the girl had ran down the bleachers.

“that was weird”. eunchae said as she tilted her head.

“what’s weirder how she ran down the bleachers and didn’t bust her lip..”

next day..

“she’s staring..!”. eunchae whistled as she sat next to you on one of the benches outside.

“sooo..”

“don’t think she wants that prada bag y/n..”

“think she has an eye problem?”. you rolled your eyes.

“no.. i mean maybe..”

“do you wanna play basketball with me..?”. you blinked twice and then looked at eunchae; she just nodded rapidly.

“s.. sure..”. you got up and followed the girl while eunchae protected you precious prada bag.

“I’m thinking of joining the girls basketball team.. and need help.. sorry if I bother-“

“no it’s fine I never do anything in this class anyway”. as yunah finally got a free hop she looked at you curiously up and down.

“really.. your so.. fit though?”. luckily yunah went to go get a ball so she didn’t see you blushing madly at your comment.

“ok just try to stop me.. you know the basics right”. you just nodded in a trance. as you played you couldn’t look but check the girl out. her hair was in a ponytail.. her sports jacket was off.

“oh shit are you ok?”. you squeezed your eyes shut as you felt the assault against your back.

“ya.. the basketball that hit me like the flash and landed me in my back didn’t do shit”. yunah but her lip as she cupped your cheek and eyes your figure.

“you think you can get up?”. you nodded as she helped you. you held the back of your neck as you nearly fell. yunah put both hands on your waist to keep you balanced.

“you sure you don’t need a-“

“you owe me”

“what..?”

“icecream.. after school tomorrow”. yunah stood in shock as you ran over to a worried eunchae.

“ar-“

“yes.. she’s going to buy me ice cream..!”.

last next day..

“is this black mail..?”. you laughed as yunah pulled out fifteen bucks from her back pocket.

“no ! and you only need like four bucks”. you smiled.

“ya but I’m getting some for your friends too”. you looked over to eunchae fanning her face and haerin rolling here eyes as she aided the girl. you were left speechless as yunah dragged you over to the truck.

you ordered your icecreams and chatted as you waited for them. as soon as you got them you almost gagged as you licked yours.

“is it ok?”. as you walked with yunah you shock your head, as you put haerin and eunchae’s icecreams in your back pockets.

“nah it’s shit but thanks”. yunah frowned and then grabbed your icecream.

“hay !”. quickly yunah gave you here’s and urged you to try it. when you did you frowned.

“why’d you-“

“shit you got some in your..”. yunah put one hand on your waist to pull you closer; and used the other one to whip of some icecream of your lip. you froze when you did. and everytime after that when yunah got in a two feet distance if you.

as the days went on you got closer. mentally.. but mostly physically. yunah started to back hug you..

“then he threw the question right back at-“. as eunchae got ready to laugh, you felt hands around your waist..

“wha-“. as you were about to question the girl she just stared at you blankly and then smiled. then one time when you just sitting on a bench texting a sick eunchae you felt hair on your thighs.

“so eunchae’s sick?”. it took you a minute but you did node. you even felt a kiss on your cheek..

“you think is did to much..”. you asked eunchae as she knocked on jakes door.

“no you just look like your from the yxyy unit your fine”. you nudged the girl as the door opened. a drunk yeji smiled.

“omg hayyyy”. you were about to hayyyy her right back when jakes hand snaked around her waist and he kissed her.. and then they started to make out. you and eunchae brushed past them as they continued.

“you think my hats to big?”. you laughed as you found a quiet corner to talk in.

“nah it’s pertinent to the fit”

“stop using yunah’s fancy words-“

“what’s that about my dance words?”. yunah flicked eunchaes hat. when she did the shorter girl rolled her eyes and ran over to the ‘cat girl’ haerin.

“nice clueless outfits..”. you giggled.

“nice..?”

“I’m nando but sporty girl ! who cares about her looks !”. as you were about to giggle again you felt something wet on your cheek. you blinked twice as yunah’s hands went around your waist. you grabbed one of her hands of your waist and dragged her to the nearest bathroom.

yunah giggled as you sat in the rim of the sink to get to her height. she then wrapped her hands around the sink as you bit your lip.

“what’s wrong..”. yunah’s lips found there way onto your neck and you gasped.

“yunah !”. the girl jumped.

“what !”

“can I not kiss my girlfriend?”

“your what?”. yunah blinked twice.

“you never asked me to be your girlfriend yunah”. the still taller girl tried to take her hands off your waist but you didn’t let her.

“but-“

“I want to be your girlfriend but you never asked !”. you smiled as she got closer to your face.

“will you be my-“. you closed the tiny gap between you two and kissed her. cupping her cheeks this time.

“yes.. yes mrs. gym buff”. yunah giggled and quickly shut you up. what a perfect couple..

favourite colour: I'm the bitch who can't pick just one, but I really like all pastels, as one does. However, when you think about colour combos, pink+yellow is a really delicious one. Anything with teal/turquoise. A pastel combined with either chocolate brown or the kind of warm toffee brown (beige....???puppy colour..) those are all banging. Peach, mint etc.

last song: Yoojung - begin . I really like this song in particular, it's my favourite from the be-series onlyoneof did. (to my non-kpop moots, it's essentially a series of lgbt solo songs that the group's members released, some of them are paired together via the story) also non-kpop song, The Horror and The Wild by The Amazing Devil. I'm normal and have dnd playlists etc.

currently reading: ... don't judge me but Last Flight the Dragon Age novel.

currently watching: season 2 of The Bear. What an incredibly stressful show. Just finished marathoning iwtv with friends.

currently craving: super sour candies and also mango. I went and bought a ripe mango, it's currently just waiting for me in the kitchen.

coffee or tea: both! Technically coffee because I do drink that on the daily, perhaps a little too much. I could however, go get some tea right now. Licorice tea is really good.

for next gen, will there be group lessons with the coaches like there are in most survival shows, or will it all be individual? would there even be individual time with them at all?

yes, while they're learning the song there will be lessons with the coaches! each day the participants will have daily check-ins/assessments with the special judges/mentors (bom, yoojung, and j-yoon) and lessons with the additional coaching staff to help them learn and improve their skills.

it can be assumed that there's a two-hour lesson for each performance skill daily and the participants are expected to practice independently after lessons are over as well.

All About You!

BNS readers are all around the world. Thanks to you, I racked up over 4,100 unique visitors across 86 countries on six continents (waiting on you, Antarctic scientists)! What’s more, 899 followers liked my content enough to hit that “Follow” button. The Banana Bunch sent in a ton of questions and I managed to answer 92 asks. That’s over an ask a day. All of this in just two months, which is absolutely mind-boggling to me.

What’s interesting is that while the US is a huge chunk of my readers (~24%), SEA countries take up the next 4 spots, accounting for 38% of my audience. Another surprise is South Korea in the #8 spot, which begs the question: are you reading for pleasure or because you work for a record label that’s tasked you to keep tabs on the gg idol smut community? Either way, thanks for visiting! ;)

In A Word

In two months, I managed to publish 24.6k+ words across 9 stories.

The graphic at the top of this post is a word cloud of my most frequently used words, with my most used word being “back” (after excluding words like “the”, “and”, “a”, etc). “Yiren” was my 3rd most used word, a surprise considering she’s only mentioned in two stories. Meanwhile, “Yoojung” appears at 4th despite the entire YouWeMe series revolving around her.

Some of my favorite one-liners:

The first one I just love because of the alliteration. The other two quickly became fan favorites based on the asks and comments I’ve received on those two quotes, and they quickly grew on me as well. In fact, on a whim, I added the callback to “Is this a cute pussy?” in YouWeMe Part 2 after the reception of it in Part 1. Don’t worry, you’ll see it come up again in future YouWeMe installments, but those were premeditated :)

The Starting Five

What Year in Review tumblr post would be complete without the Top 5 Posts of the Year? I am not a fan of note count as an indicator of popularity/success, at least as a standalone metric. So, the Top 5 below is based on a scientific formula (actually not scientific at all) that takes the following into consideration with equal weighting: note count, user views first 5 days, daily view average after first five days, and my own personal preference. It’s still not completely accurate, but I think it provides a better picture of my top stories than just note count alone.

Though Winter and Sana are my only stories to surpass 400 notes, I don't think anyone would be surprised to see Yiren and Idol Club outscore both of them and take the top spot with my formula. The Naughty List with Isa, a story I wrote on a whim at the end of the year, is a pleasant surprise at number 4! She currently holds more than 270 notes (at time of writing), which is way above where I expected that story to land. Rounding out the top 5 is the only YouWeMe story to make the list, and of course, it's none other than the one that started it all with Yoojung.

Spoiling the Fun

Earlier in the week, I sent out a survey asking my readers what spoiler they wanted to see for my upcoming stories. Here are those results and the spoiler!

...and "Screenshot of draft list" managed to hold off stiff competition to win the survey! "Idol Club reveal" was actually the early leader until the survey reblog. Honestly surprised YouWeMe got a handful of votes. Was hoping "Idol Reveal for Original Story" would win because I think you'd really enjoy who's in it. Who knows, maybe I'll spoil those all eventually (or maybe I've spoiled them already 😏). Anyway, here's the screenshot of my draft list: (see any titles you're curious about? 😉)

Behind the Banana

There’s a couple Behind the Scenes anecdotes that I didn’t really get to share through A/Ns that I think you might enjoy, so I am including it in this post:

Though Autumn was my debut piece, it was actually the last piece I started writing of the 9 stories I’ve posted (and countless finished stories I’ve yet to release), with the exception of Chicken and The Naughty List, which were written on a whim. The reason I used it as a debut piece ahead of any of my other already-written stories was because it featured a popular idol and was light enough of a read to draw people in to continue following my work.

In comparison, YouWeMe Part 1 was actually the first piece I wrote (all the way back in August). It was set to be my debut piece, but 3.5k+ words for an idol of a group no one really knows wouldn’t have made the same first impression as Autumn, IMO.

I was actually planning to debut in the first week of October, but since Kinktober was going on, I didn’t want to get lost in the sea of stories coming out everyday. And actually, before that, I was planning on a mid-September debut but the graphic designer had not yet finished my logo at that time. The delays also gave me some time to refine the rest of my theme.

Idol Club was actually intended to be a story for Winter, but then I wrote Autumn and didn't want to repeat her again. How do you all feel about Yiren getting the Idol Club treatment instead of Winter?

I’ve got more anecdotes for the entire YouWeMe series coming out as an entire post. It’ll be released after the YouWeMe finale, so keep an eye out for that!

What's Next in 2022?

Yunho, San, and Wooyoung: even though all three of these boys are on the basketball team, you actually met and befriended them through Yoojung, who works at a dance studio that San used to visit. With them joining the fruit crew, daily conversations have gotten more chaotic, but you wouldn't have it any other way

Dancing, muffled long conversations, and amongst other noises you wished you could wipe from memory. One day it suddenly stops. These days become months. Now, you couldn't help but to be concerned.

Sungho isn't a bad neighbor. You recall complaining to him at some point, amidst trying to focus on a report you had to write up for work, and he apologized for the noise. Many times. He seemed embarrassed, never realizing how thin the walls were in the apartment building, and promised to keep the noise levels down. These promises would last only about a week. Their significant other was quite the complete opposite of Sungho, a loud individual. From what you were aware, the two didn't live together. His significant other would come over daily to stay or visit.

As much as they were loud, they didn't seem to like you either. Looks of disdain thrown whenever you happen to cross them in the hallway, being in the same elevator cart, or when Sungho was trying to be a good neighbor by greeting you. They would pull him away immediately, putting his attention back on them. Sometimes you thought that they were being loud on purpose, knowing that you were next door, and very well aware of the complaints. The reason why? You had no idea. The best guess you could come up with was that they saw you as a threat to their relationship. Which was ridiculous. You hardly knew the male nor could the both of you call each other friends.

Sometimes Sungho left fruits or drinks at your door with little notes of apologies for their rowdiness. And for their significant other's behavior. For the most part, you bared through it or simply did all your work within the hours at your office now and prayed that tiredness would consume you once you hit your bed, blocking out any disturbances.

So, life goes on.

One weekend, you just happened to get home from going out with your friends. It was late, past midnight. You heard arguing through the walls between Sungho and their significant other.

"You're always like this, Sungho!"

Immediately, you felt very uncomfortable entering your apartment. It wasn't something you wanted to hear or should be hearing. Not that you could help it either since you lived next door. You backed yourself outside, considering going to the balcony on the floor for a bit. Stepping back outside of your door, their argument becomes muffled.

Why couldn't the landlord just keep the damn wall consistency the same?

Suddenly, Sungho's door flies open followed by their significant other storming out. You jump up out of surprise, the noise scaring you. They're heading down the hallway, to the elevators, without looking back. Sungho appears at his door not too long after, holding it open.

"Wait-" he calls out to them, his voice faltering.

The male notices you then, staring with wide eyes at him. At that moment, you were able to get a full picture of his current position. The hurt in his eyes.

"Oh...y/n. Are you here to complain about the noise again? I'm really sorry-"

"Uh, no! No, not at all. See, I just was returning home now. Don't worry about it," you said, awkwardly blinking a few times, reaching to grab for your keys from your bag once again.

"Um, I'm heading inside now! Okay, bye!"

You immediately opened your door again, rushing, running into your living room. The door shuts behind automatically and you let out a sigh of relief. You felt bad for suddenly running away, but you weren't about to ask or give relationship advice if Sungho wasn't asking for it. Besides, what if it was only a lover's quarrel?

They'll probably make up soon. Talk about a rough night…

Then the realization set in. The apartment would be definitely quiet for at least another day. A smile rises to your face.

What a horrible thing to be happy over...after seeing your neighbor fight with their significant other. Then again, they weren't all that nice to me.

You shrugged, waving the events aside, calling it a night, enjoying the peaceful silence...only with the slight remaining, lingering tension in the air. After you showered, brushed your teeth, and changed into pajamas, you immediately laid down on your bed. Pulling the covers over, you found yourself thinking. Staring up to the ceiling of your room in the dark.

That argument sounded bad though...ugh. None of your business, y/n. Go to sleep. They'll probably be fine tomorrow…

Define the term "fine".

The next day, as you predicted, was quiet. That you could hear a pin drop from down the hallway. You enjoyed it, a Sunday afternoon peace. It allowed you to catch up on work, eat, watch T.V, write poetry...overall without any disturbances. Sungho, your neighbor, was long forgotten from your mind.

The thing is, it goes on for the next week. You weren't worried about it at all because you were swamped with work. The next reports and presentations came with close deadlines. The silence was appreciated, allowing you to focus; you got lost in piles of work and many cups of coffee.

Worry about your neighbor only returned on the brief encounters when the both of you were heading to work in the mornings. Sungho still greeted you, but only with a brief nod and face expressionless. They would walk ahead first, not bothering to see even if you returned the greeting or not. Sometimes you heard him leaving earlier than you and now you couldn't help but to wonder what his occupation was.

The week turns into two and three. He stops greeting you at some point, or maybe he wasn't very aware of his surroundings; his whole aura was different. Sungho usually would at least do his hair before going out and dress somewhat decently. Now it was always a mess, his bangs left down to cover his eyes, matching with black attire. You saw him up close in his current condition when you were returning to the apartment building one afternoon. The male had collided into you, by accident. Turning around immediately on the impact, once you had regained your balance, you're faced with eyes that were written with sleepless nights, dark circles prominent. At least, this time, he mumbles an apology before moving on.

By the time it reaches the end of the month, your workload becomes lighter for the year, you find more time thinking about the current situation of your neighbor. You called up one of your best friends at your workplace one night. It wasn't the first time you discussed your neighbor with them.

"Yoojung, it's the end of the month. I haven't seen his significant other in awhile. As much as I enjoy the silence, I hate seeing Sungho this dead," you said, a hand gripping onto the balcony railing out of nervousness.

“Note check. You don’t even know the guy. Why exactly are you so worried?” Yoojung on the other end replies.

Your friend had a point. Why were you worried?

“Well…I don’t have an answer, actually. I don’t know why I’m worried. Can’t I just be a good neighbor?” you replied.

“It’s none of your business, y/n. Looking at reality. But if you’re so worried, go knock on his door and talk to him. Even if it’s just a hello. Didn’t he leave you fruits before? You can do that in return if you’re so curious,” Yoojung suggested, not sounding all that interested.

“Anyways, you’re coming to the group outing for dinner next week right? On Saturday? Please tell me you didn’t forget or you plan on cancelling. We hardly ever get a chance for everyone to come together again.”

“Alright, thanks so much for the advice...I guess...and keep your pants on, Yoojung. Of course I’m coming. Good night,” you scowled at him.

You hung up the phone then, not giving a chance for the other to say his goodbye. As much as he was your best friend, he could be a pain in the ass. Turning around, you exited out the balcony to return back to your apartment for the day.

So much for calling it a night.

Once you make it back, you’re greeted with Sungho at your door, hunched over, using an arm to keep his weight up against the wall. First thought that came to mind: he’s unwell and he came to ask you for help? You immediately approach the male, only to be hit by a smell of alcohol and you jolt back. The second thought you had, only confirmed: he’s drunk.

“Sungho?! Are you okay?” you asked nervously, tapping his shoulder lightly.

The male looks up to you, quite confused.

“y/n? Oh. Yeah...I’m fine. Just trying to get into my apartment...but the key.... doesn’t seem to fit…” Sungho said, words spoken slowly as he tries to stand upright.

“Did...the landlord change the locks?”

“No, no. The landlord didn’t. You’re at the wrong apartment, this one is mine. Uh, do you need help?” you said, raising an eyebrow at him.

“Ah...well, that makes...sense now,” Sungho said, a drunk written smile appearing on his face.

“No, it’s okay...I’m always disturbing you... I’m really sorry...Have...a good night, y/n.”

It’s the first time you’ve seen him smile in such a long time. Of course, it only happens to be when he’s not sober. Also, you’re very aware that drunk people do need help but always deny it. You watch as he turns around, folding your arms and counting down in your head.

3... 2...1

The male collapses on the ground, completely knocked out from the alcohol in his system. You blew up at your hair, huffing then, staring down at his figure on the ground.

This night just got a whole lot longer.

They have been giving the title of “Vocal skills that reaches the level of having CDs for meals” with that, they have been recognised as the most powerful girl group.

‘Cool’ Mamamoo who has the charm to be able to pull off happy and bright as well as moody concert well. As well as a unique reputation of ‘A female group having a wide fanbase of female fans”.

Instead of trying hard to look pretty to attract male fans, Mamamoo’s concept is “To show my original self, whether you love me or not, do whatever you want. If you hate it, don’t come to me” This point has captured the hearts of many of their female fans.

Mamamoo debuted in 2014 with ‘Dont be happy’& grew through the years to the superstars they are now. They’ve showed off their dorky-ness through entertainment programs.But they’ve revealed that Eventhough they are artists,they do go through hard times just like a normal person does.

Since their trainee days, each member Solar.Moonbyul.Wheein.Hwasa each have their favourite book they’d read during that time.”At that time,we were forced to read books,but as we begin our activities,we’ve seen a being picture of the world which we weren’t taught in books.”

As an artist, it’s difficult to approach someone and ask ‘What should I do.’

Each member was told to choose their favourite books and talk about it.

Solar:As someone who has interest in producing, she’ve chosen “Kim DoHoon’s Producing Tips” and have learnt music through that.Recently,she have been reading Jung YooJung’s “The Origin Of Species”

-cont- Solar also recommended Marilyn Monroe’s ‘My Story’ as an insight of a stars’ life.

When Moonbyul wants to collect her mind, she will visit the book store and choose a book and she likes the smell of the book store. When she’s stressed, she will visit the book store and choose the book ‘그까짓 사람 그래도 사람’ (That human and also a human)

Wheein likes to read books on her own spare time. She’s into poetries like ‘입속의 곰은 입’(Dark mouth within the mouth) Ryu SiHwa’s ‘My pain is a stone, your pain is a flower’.

Wi: Poetries view daily life at a different perspective and expresses itself with short sentences. Those sentences serves as an echo for me many times in my life.

As for Hwasa, when she’s hurt verbally she will read ‘The temperature of languages’ and receive comfort through that book and will feel better.She always have that book with her anywhere she goes and will read it when she’s facing hard times.

Hwasa”I was attracted to the book because of the title and the Color Of it. Whenever I have time I will ready it. When I’m feeling down, it gives me the secureness.”

Through ‘Stars’ Library’ Mini interview ,Mamamoo was able to express their feelings that couldn’t be told easily, sharing their happy time’s as well as lonely times.

Their process of rising up to a superstar they are now.
