i just just finished tgaa 2 and i have so many thoughts, mainly i just absolutely loved the game and artstyle and writing but i am left with this just absolute sense of loss because it finishes with these promises of return and meeting again and i become painfully aware that this is set in the past and this is the last tie we'll probably ever see them again. im still confused as to why this is not a trilogy like seriously? and im very sleep deprived but man these are my favorite characters and im upaet that they are all in universe dead and i overall like how they ended it on that note, i mean its supposed to be hopeful bittersweet but man did i just go through a rolercoaser ride that entire last case. 10/10 no notes
I think it’s kinda Thematically Interesting how TGAA2 at first hyped up Prosecutor Asogi as, like, ‘ohhh watch out!! This guy was already a qualified defense attorney! He knows how to use the Defense’s tactics in favor of the Prosecution!’. And, like, yeah, that is a strength Kazuma demonstrated throughout the trial….
But he also ended up facing a lot of the challenges that an AA Defense Attorney usually has to face.
Like, having a culprit confess to their wrongdoing to you in private
And then being unable to prove this confession ever happened in Court.
That’s what happened to Kazuma in this trial, but it also happened to Phoenix and the rest of the AA crew countless times before.
Or just generally, like, knowing that the case you’re working on now is deeply related to finally solving a previous case from X Years Ago... But to actually peruse investigating it, you need to somehow convince the rival legal counsel to somehow see that connection and trust you that there is a connection - even if you can’t prove it until further down the line. And you can't prove it unless you can get them to trust you....
That’s a pretty common trope for AA Final cases but.... one that Ace Attorney players usually experience only from their side.
But this time, it's the Prosecutor is the one faced with the challenge of proving the connection between the past and present cases. And the Defense, and the Player, are faced with the challenge that the Prosecutor usually faces - the challenge of trusting their rival and their new line of inquiry.
Prosecutor Kazuma is not just a demonstration of how the Defense’s tactics and tricks look from the perspective of their rivals - he also demonstrates how the challenges of the Defense feel from the other side of the bench.
Another one of TGAA Swap AU designs here!! This time i'm refining designs for Swap!Asogi and Swap!Naruhodo because they were not giving more thought last time I designed them, so here ya go finally!!
I might planning to refine Albert's and Barok's design next, designing Naruhono prosecutor outfit making me missing them honestly- (and they're the reasons why this AU existed anyway so I have to-).
Check down below to see bunch of my thoughts and rambles when I was designing them.
I've been thinking it would be a fun detail to gave Kazuma's hair a cartoony like with original Naruhodo design, that is also why he have a sharp tip on top of his hair so it will go opposite direction of where he is facing everytime he turn his head around.
In half way of doing concept sketches for Naruhodo's hair it just ended up clicking to me that I have to gave him a phoenix like ponytail, I was like 'oh yeaaah, duh!' for not thinking of that sooner 😭
Though I was originally thought of giving him fox mask, I also thought it would be neat to given Naruhodo a mouse mask instead as it referencing to his original mascot!
I was thinking of giving Kazuma glasses but I have to scratch that as he will ended up look similar to Hosonaga.
I gave a tiny details on Naruhodo's prosecutor outfit, you could've guess what it is sjbsjs
I wanted to put Kazuma's archery bracer on his right hand as I want him to be left handed in this, but I have to throw that idea away sadly :'
I know Mikotoba probably named Iris without any input from Sholmes but I still get a real kick out of imagining what Sholmes would have thought to name her instead. Like:
Mikotoba: *vividly reliving the death of his wife and having to deal with the implications of caring for another child when he couldn't even do right by his first one*
Sholmes: ... Ammonia is a beautiful name for a baby girl
if i had a nickel for every time the fourth case of an ace attorney game involved defending our pretentious, grey(ish) haired rival prosecutor, who claims to hate us but actually has a deep respect for us, against the accusation of murdering a fellow member of the judicial system after, in a moment of thoughtlessness, he picked up a gun which happened to be the murder weapon, all the while the prosecution for this case is someone connected to the murder of said grey haired prosecutor's family member, whose death changed him from a bright, kind young man, into a ruthless, cold prosecutor, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
