Daggerheart Critmas story Session 0, Matt in the first minutes : "We will not play in a fantasy setting, but in a version of our real world, set somewhere in the lates 80's, early 90's, in a not-named town somewhere in the middle of not much. You'll be teenagers, and you can by anyone you want to be."
The cast : "So... we'll play ourselves as teenagers as the ones we were in that first Campaign 2 opening credits, thank you very much."
#I love them#it's a great idea#those openings credits were good#also this reminds me of course of the infamous Liam's One-shot where they were their teen version#critical role#A Daggerheart Critmas story

FAQ
How this works (short version):
From November 15 - January 15th: People leave prompts for fic and art on AO3
From December 1st - January 15th: Writers and Artists (who might have also left prompts of their own, or might not have) fill whichever prompts they want anonymously.
January 16 - Writers and Artists are revealed!
Breaking this down a little more:
Where will you be hosting this? On AO3 as Critmas Wishing Tree
Will I need to have an AO3 Login to participate? Yes. If you don't have an invite code, we have a post where you can claim one!
How do I prompt?
Click on the prompt form link on the Meme's dashboard and then fill in the fields.
You'll be asked for the following information:
Title - For the ease of the writers and artists, it should be filled like so:
ART or FIC (or BOTH)
Character or Ship
One or two words describing the prompt
For example: ART: Trent & Patia Coffeeshop AU
This helps artists and writers to find the prompts they like quickly
Fandom - Critical Role, Exandria Unlimited, Candela Obscura, any of the one shots or Daggerheart are all acceptable. Essentially, if it's dealing with characters from something that's been streamed on the Critical Role Twitch stream, it's fine. Crossovers with non related works are also acceptable.
Characters - What are the main characters in your prompt? You don't have to list every character, and writers and artists can include characters that aren't mentioned here (but they shouldn't be the focus of the work)
Relationships - Same as above, but with relationships
Relevant Tags - This can be blank, but if there are common AO3 tags associated with the work (hurt/comfort, for example), they can help your prompt be found
Description - Describe what you're looking for in one to two sentences. Things like what kind of mood you're thinking about are really helpful! Be sure to specify anything you do want, but also, you are free to put anything you do not want in here with a DNW (do not want).
Semi Anonymous Prompt - Whether you want your account to be associated with the prompt
Then press submit.
The only required fields are characters and something in the description. If you don't put something in a field, it defaults to 'any'
Hey, I left a bunch of prompts and nobody filled any of them!
Sorry, I have no way of assuring people that their prompts are being filled. I'm planning on highlighting the unclaimed prompts near the end of the event, but it's up to the artists and writers.
Is there a limit on the number of prompts I can leave?
You're allowed to leave up to twenty prompts
Can I post prompts based on crossovers, Candela Obscura, or any of the Critical Role Oneshots?
Anything based off of a stream on the Critical Role Twitch channel OR Legend of Vox Machina is allowed. This includes all of the one shots, Daggerheart, Candela Obscura, Exandria Unlimited, Narrative Telephone, and more. Crossovers with other non-Critical Role works are okay as long as one of the works is permitted.
Are there any prompts that are off limits?
No CSA, nothing homophobic, racist, or transphobic, and nothing that attacks other works, ships, or tropes.
You can mention that something is rarely seen in fandom (IE - it's rare that a coffeeshop AU considers modern commercial real estate prices), but try to do so in a way that respects other works and other tastes. (IE - don't say 'Coffeeshop AUs are dumb because they don't consider modern commercial real estate prices)
Otherwise, it's free rein.
What does it mean to claim a prompt?
It means that you're saying that you'd like to fill it. Other people can still fill that prompt, but it's also kind to look around to see if there's an unfilled prompt instead. You do need to claim a prompt to fulfill it, but you can immediately claim and fulfill.
How do I fill a prompt?
Two ways:
If you claimed the prompt, there should be a little 'fulfill' button next to the prompt. Click that.
When you go to post the new work, click the claim in the associations section
Can I post my prompt fill anywhere else?
Yes, but please wait until after reveals on January 16th! Otherwise it's not anonymous. I'm going to recommend tagging your work with #CritmasWishingTree, but you do you.
I've got other questions on this!
