I love spring, because it means that it's daffodil season! Daffodils just happen to be my favorite flower 💁‍♀️ April, when the daffodils bloom (!!), also happens to be Daffodil month, through the Canadian Cancer Society. According to their website : It is estimated that in 2017: 103,100 Canadian men will be diagnosed with cancer and 42,600 men will die from cancer. 103,200 Canadian women will be diagnosed with cancer and 38,200 women will die from cancer. On average, 565 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer every day. On average, 221 Canadians will die from cancer every day. Everyone knows someone who has, or has had cancer. April is #cardandletterwritingmonth, which I’m wholeheartedly supporting. But it is also #DaffodilMonth. Daffodil Month is one of the @cancersociety’s fundraisers (they only do two! Relay for Life, and Daffodil Month.. that’s it!). And I, and maybe you, have been personally affected by cancer in my family. Cancer sucks. It drains the life out of you seeing a loved one go through chemo, not having enough energy to do the things they love, and be in pain for no clear reason (well, other than the cancer). The feeling that you can’t do anything for them? That’s the worst part. So in addition to wearing my daffodil every day, I've decided to donate proceeds from all sales of cards with a yellow envelope (the colour of daffodils) to the Canadian Cancer Society.
