Alright! Here is some more angst for Daemags!!!!
(Some context first: Daeron and Maglor were able to have children through magical means due to Daeron being half Maia, their prowess in song as well. They basically sang their kids into creation. What a vibe. They have two daughters and twins boys. Since this AU Maglor doesn't swear the oath, I need hard angst to get him on on track to lonely self exile.)
'When Daeron learns of Beren's death, he is so consumed by guilt and shame that he leaves Doriath in the night, abandoning his family.'
Maglor is woken up by a herald of Thingol, telling him the king demands to speak with him. He checks his twins in their cradles before following the herald to the throneroom of Doriath. Only Thingol and Melian are present, but the queen has a sad and distant look on her face, while Thingol seemed stern and angry.
"Daeron has fled Doriath. His actions killed the man Luthien finds.. love with." The statement is clear, yet with a hint of disgust. Maglor's face turned pale and cold. His husband had abandoned them...
"Luthien won't return to Doriath if her brother's spouse resides. So. Maglor. You are to return to your brother in Himring immediately. "
The King's orders sent a cold spike through Maglor. First his husband abandons him and their children, and now he is being sent away... again... First by his father and now by his father-in-law.
Maglor bows his head trying to hide his tears from King Thingol. He must not cause trouble. He must not cause trouble.
"As you wish my King... maybe I be excused? I must prepare my children for-"
Maglor was cutoff by Thingol standing from his throne abruptly and making his way over to the Noldor elf.
"The children will not be going with you."
The words echoed in the hall. Maglor felt his heart stop and fall. His children... the elflings he'd had since he and his husband sang them into creation. All four of their children were born in a glade of purple moon flowers under Ithil. Their voices would be hoarse, but it was worth the new addition to their family.
His eldest daughter, Winyárissë (Fresh Dawn), so strong and fierce, more ready to hold a sword and bow, her love for her black steed she had raised with Maglor's help. Her black hair and light brown eyes made her out to be a beautiful raven-like nìs. His second daughter, Harmië (Treasure) a seemingly opposite to her older sister, a sweet girl and an artist. A lover of jewlery and dresses, she was a clumsy dancer but loved to dance all the same. Maglor could watch her dance forever... She was silver haired with bright grey eyes, almost as if they contained tree light. And then his twins... his two little boys... not looking like each other at all: Lahtarion (Surpasser), with his dark hair from Maglor and a singular silver streak and beautiful brown eyes from Daeron. And Luhtano (To echant), with his silver hair but two different colored eyes, one a stormy grey and the other a deep rich brown. The twins were still so young... still small enough to sleep in a cradle. And Thingol was demanding him to leave his children? All because Daeron made a stupid and rash decision!?
"B-but sire... they are my children! I-i can't just leave them! They need-"
Meglor was once more cut off by the king. His stone cold face held no sympathy.
"The children will reside in the care of Queen Melian, she will provide for them. You however must leave Doriath." Thingol looked down on the shorter elf. He felt the smallest shred of pitty for him, but his daughter came before his son's foreign bride.
"Please do not make this harder than it has to be. Gather your personal items and leave. A servant has already fetched and prepared your horse. I'm sorry but this is the way it must be."
Thingol said with his head held high. Maglor couldn't believe what was happening... Thingol had this already planned. He should have known the Doriathrim would never accept him.
"Can I at least say goodbye...?" Maglor asked, tears covered his pale cheeks and his hands shook.
. . . . .
ANNNNNDDDD I'll stop it there! I will release the entire short story on my AO3 soon! I will tag it here when I post it!

Oh! In your last post you said you ship Daemags! I was wondering if you have any headcanons for it? (I ship it too and I love to hear other people’s interpretations!)
Thank you for your question! I love Daemags a lot and just the thought of these two makes me both very happy and very sad.
In my own humble opinion Daeron is probably Maglor's best option for a canon character as a spouse just because of how one could interpret their dynamic
For me personally I always go by the version in the Legendarium where Daeron and Lúthien are siblings just because I like it more and because the world needs more eldritch half Maia children
This also gives Maglor the chance to argue against Daeron's status as the greatest Minstrel of the Elves because he [Daeron] isn't technically fully elvish and I love some petty Noldorin prince
His voice like Lúthien's is very beautiful but unlike her he has absolutely no control over the powers it holds (I like to imagine that out of the two he inherited more of Melian's more obvious Maiarin trades)
When he tries to sing for people, even if it is just a simple lullaby, his voice effects them in various unpleasant ways like hysteria, hypnosis or even straight up a years long coma (he hasn't sung anyone to death yet though)
Hence why he plays the flute, there is no chance that he'll start singing along while he's a playing, it's just perfect! Also composing because that's a very safe way to make music without actually hurting anyone.
Maglor on the other hand has always been singing constantly and he just can't play an instrument that doesn't allow him to sing along → he absolutely hates to play any type of wind instrument
Maglor's voice has more calming and soothing effects on the people listening, he was always very good at singing his younger siblings and cousins to sleep
Daeron might be a tiny bit (very much) jealous of that ability
They meet for the first time at the Mereth Aderthad the feats that Fingolfin holds at the beginning of the First Age
At first they get along well because they have finally found somebody who shares their enthusiasm over music and they even have a duet together during the feast where Daeron plays the flute and Maglor the lyre
Later on though both of them realise how hella competitive they are and things get heated for a while until they get to a point where they don't talk to eachother for centuries
Ok they write eachother letters but nobody knows about that (Luthien and Maedhros definitely know) in which they discuss and fight over various theories regarding music and songs of power
When Daeron vanishes from Doriath to look for Lúthien, he ends up meeting Maglor somewhere in the wild and they actually see eachother again for the first time in centuries
They don't talk but Maglor's company helps Daeron come to terms with what he has done
Like he basically betrayed his sister (who all those years had kept his contact with Maglor a secret) because he was jealous over her requited love for a human and now people are dying because of this
He also realises how deeply in love he has fallen with Maglor at this point which causes him to flee into the woods once again, leaving his flute behind in his panic
Maedhros doesn't question why Maglor carries a flute with him from that point on
Maglor looks for Daeron when they pick up a more nomadic lifestyle after the second kinslaying in the hopes of finding him again
He tells Elrond and Elros about their great-granduncle and even gifts Elros Daeron's flute on the day they separate
It's Elrond who asks him whether he ever told daeron that he loves him and Maglor can't do anything but shake his head
When Maglor throws the Silmaril into the sea and starts wandering the shores he sometimes images to hear the whistle of a flute somewhere in the distance but he never follows that sound
Same goes for Daeron roaming the vastly shrinking forests of Middle Earth who sometimes thinks he can hear a voice from far across the land
When they meet eachother again eventually, I imagine that both of them are very touch starved and haven't had any social contacts for centuries
Not much talking between them, just Maglor singing Daeron to sleep when he has nightmares and Daeron playing the flute to silence the ghosts in Maglor's mind
Daeron knows what Maglor has done, the voices of the earth and sea have told him, but he also knows that he loves the other too much to hate him
He sometimes talks about his family to Maglor and he is aware that this is a very cruel thing to do, especially the when he mentions Nimloth who used to be the only one who even encouraged him to sing something but sometimes he just can't help himself
In return Maglor sometimes tells happier tales of his own family back in Valinor but those mostly end in broken sobs
Their story is basically that of two lost souls who find solace in one another and learn to live again while the world around them changes
I don't know if they sail eventually or if they just continue to travel and live separated from all forms of civilization until the world is made new
Neither of them ever outright state that they love the other but both of them know it

I hope your exams go well! I have some right now and I have done approximately 45 minutes max of voluntary revision :/
As for the asks, can you please tell more about Daeron? You mentioned (way back in the Daemags post) that you head canon him as a son of Melian and Thingol and I love that idea if you would like to run with it?
- Captain Anon
Hi!! Yessssss! And yeah same for the not really studying thing (does it show in my activity on here?)
Ok three primary arguments for him being their son: 1. Eldritch vibessssss 2. an interesting character that way (as opposed to the other where it’s mostly just snape-ey and weird) 3. the ULTIMATE middle child.
Eldritch vibes: The world is made of music and Daeron is the foremost singer/ musician in the world. That tops both Luthien and Maglor (bringing up Luthien because we all know the shit she pulled with the Song). And I imagine that power is even more magnified in Doriath: Daeron would sing and the forest would stop. Just to listen. The same way Thingol fell asleep for however long from Malians enchantment, you could die listening to Daeron’s music and your corpse would keep on listening. Just- super scary eldritch children, ok? Not to mention the classic teeth a little too long, eyes a little too bright, voice a little more musical with every word is sculpted in the air. Thank you and good night.
-
Story line: Ok so one of the reasons I like the siblings is because all the other siblings seem to get along so well, even if they dont particularly like each other all that much. And also before I continue this, just fair warning it’s practically a whole ass AU.
We start of this au/canon/whatever the hell im saying and the two siblings are really close, and (in part to being weird eldritch childs and in part because they actually get along) spend almost their time together.
This continues as they grow older, certainly they make other friends as they go into their separate roles in the kingdom, but mostly it’s those two together. In the forest singing.
I think Beren shows up, and I mean at first they ran away because um scary? but obvs Luthien gets over that really fast, Daeron not so much. They’ve been raised in an isolationist country, I feel like he’s not to happy with the *new person.*
And hey I get to mirror that Maia obsessiveness I was chatting about for Annatar and Melian when I say Daeron is that way about Luthien. Which. Creepy. but still much less creepy in my opinion than as a random courtier, ya know?
Daeron makes bad decisions pt 1: he spies on the couple for Thingol because a)weird outsider mortal is sketchy, and Daeron Does Not Like and b) no that’s his sister, who’s supposed to hangout with him, not Beren. So yeah, maybe the idea that beren is Dangerous is just a justification of that but really, thats no one’s buissiness but daeron’s.
Daeron makes bad decisions pt 2: Ok listen telling Thingol Luthien was gonna go to rescue Beren is actually a decision I could get behind. Cause.um. deadly quest designed to get people killed is not for siblings. Still, over all bad idea.
Daeron is helpful: on try 2 it’s like ok fine. Go be with Beren.
Luthien is lost and Daeron goes for a hike pt 1: Ok i briefly mentioned this, but I think at some point he realized he had to return to Doriath, and then just… decided not to face a home that was missing his sister and also held his parents and whatever they were going through.
Luthien is lost and Daeron goes for a hike pt 2: I think when he hears Luthien’s dead it’s really upsetting, and that’s the point at which he actually departs from the areas of the forest he knew.
Anyways, I find the version of the story interesting because if he really *did* intentionally loose himself in the dark forests/places of the world, that’s 300 years and the repeated collapse of his country (which like… more guilt). It reminds me a lot of maglor, just sans all the murdering, which is why I think Daemags is an interesting ship.
-
Middle child: I dont think I need to explain this one. His other siblings (Luthien and Turin) get whole books on them. They are followed by the narrative to their death and beyond. Daeron runs off to the forest and is never Once mentioned again. Iconic.
-
Also, the unfortunate truth is I don’t have permission to buy the not lotr tolkien books. And since my family’s very paranoid about covid, I can’t check out physical books from the library... so long story short if my canon in any of my posts is a little wack that’s why.
Thanks so much for the ask!!! Have a great day <3
#thanks for the ask!!#They are very fun#even it i didn't get to it right away#the kale thing was just...possesing me so i did it out of order#but I really appreciate ur asks and ily#as always lemme know if I forgot canon/didn't follow your prompt/ didn't write this to your liking#Captain anon

A List of What I Received for Scribbles and Drabbles 2022
This year I was delighted to be gifted several different written works for Scribbles and Drabbles! I've collected all links and summaries here - I couldn't decide on an order, so I just decided to go with the order in which I received Ao3 notifications for them. (I've put links under a readmore to avoid taking over people's dashboards.)
Portal to Anywhere by Shadow This is about the doors we step through during our lives. Both the real ones and the metaphysical ones.
Early One Morning by elennalore Nolofinwë is often awake before anyone else. This morning, however, he finds Maitimo at his favourite spot by the lake; Maitimo who has not left his sickbed since his rescue.

I realized I can kinda get away with Daeron and Maglor having children together without it being SUPER weird because Daeron got them maia powers from mother.
I will curate info for their two daughters and twins sons! This also makes room for my new headcanon that elves having twins is a lot more common then any other race or species. That and the elves that have had twins were all in close proximity to the silmarils (Dior, Elwing, Elrond kinda of)

The Feanorian Colony Pt. 2!
. . . .
. Elrond and Erestor are taken in for the night and it is then they learn of the colonys' beginning.
. They were mostly feanorians loyalists from Thargelion, Himring, and Maglor's gap. Though few were among the original forces that came to Beleriand with Feanor and served him as their king.
. Elrond and Erestor also learned that among the Colony were those of escaped thralls of Angband that Maedhros had taken in when others turned them away. Those held great respect and loyalty to Maedhros specifically.
. Erestor, who still held a grudge against his father, asked why the others stayed and remained loyal. They explained that it was all they knew and they also knew they wouldn't be excepted into Lindon, The Gray Havens, and maybe even Eregion. Celebrimbor may have been of Feanor's blood, but that did not mean he would want his kinslaying uncle's soldiers in his city. But most importantly, they were treated like family..
. Elrond looks around at the elves, many black haired and grey eyed like the Noldor commonly are, but some truly remind him of Maglor, half starved and pale, paasing up on meals so his brother could use the nutrients to heal and for him and Elros to eat.
. Elrond then made a proposal to the Colony, that they join him when he founds his own homely city. They agree to speak with their elders and to give a decision by tomarrow.
. The two are surprised at how many elves actually were to settle to go to sleep, as normally elves didn't sleep as often as other races or even Peredhel. But Elrond remembered form his time with Maglor and Maedhros, that starvation causes fatigue and sleep becomes more common.
. Elrond's sleep was interrupted by singing, slightly familiar but still a mystery to his sleep addled mind. He follows the song the the edge of the Colony camp and found a relatively large tent, a small ways away from the main camp.
. Elrond crept to tent flap and quietly pushed it aside to peek inside. His heart stopped in his chest and dropped all the same.
. There in a bed centered in the middle of the tent, was Maglor... eyes closed, chest rising and falling evenly. His long black and now grey hair laid loose around his head, his face was pale and gaunt, it was also marked by little scars. He looked truly ill...
. "Come in young Peredhel..." A voice spoke to Elrond. The young lord entered and saw another surprising figure. Daeron, prince of Doriath and former husband to Maglor.
. . .
YES! Part 2 you guys! I included Daemags AND Daeron is also a child of Thingol and Melian. In a certain related AU Daemags has children. If anyone is interested😏

Do you have any ideas on Daemags and Maglor/his spouse kinda existing in the same world?
Maglor still has both of his hands unlike some other folks :)
Ok bad jokes aside. The gender or identity of Maglor's spouse is actually never specified by Tolkien. In his texts it just says that he was also wed which can imply a lot of things and people can make of it what they want.
The easy way to answer this is that Daeron is the spouse this line speaks of and that is that, you don't have to wonder how you can still ship Daemags when the text states that Maglor was married because his spouse is very much a textual ghost. They can be whoever and whatever you want them to be. Daeron. An OC. Some other canon characters. Anything and nobody can tell you you're wrong because we have no other information.
But if you're like me and already invested time into developing a character to be Maglor's wife with like a background, character arc, an entire fucking family tree and get attached to her and the children you have developed for them uh yeah Laws and Customs of the Eldar is super rude for like outright stating that elves only get married once (I think. If not then my anger is not justified and I apologise).
So when I'm writing something Maglor related I always have to choose between a world where my version of his wife doesn't exist so that I can ship him with Daeron, or I go with a world in which she exists and give Daemags a shit ton of unresolved sexual tension. Both is not ideal.
Or I just say: Fuck it Maglor has two spouses now. Which is, truth to be told, most of the time.
Hope this helps. Happy shipping
