[Image ID 7: white text on a green background. "1. Yemen. Since 2015, Yemen, a country in the Middle East, has been facing the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world. Due to an ongoing war with Saudi Arabia, the country has been at its breaking point for quite some time now. Over 24 million of Yemen's population are in need of humanitarian assistance, with an estimated 85,000 children already dead from the famine. Yemen as a country is literally about to go extinct. To make matters worse, coronavirus has only escalated the situation making the living conditions even more extreme. As stated by UNICEF, 'Before COVID-19, 2 million children were out of school. Now, because of the pandemic, schools have been closed around the country, leaving an additional 5 million children out of school.' The media tends to vilify countries in the Middle East and place negative narratives upon them which means when situations such as this arise, the world goes silent. Society needs to show more concern and awareness for what is going on in other parts of the world as out silence is complicity. How to help: https://yemencrisis(dot)carrd(dot)co/". /End ID 7]
[Image ID 8: White text on a green background. "2. Uyghur Concentration Camps. Millions of Uyghur Muslims and other ethnic minorities are being held in concentration camps in China. In these camps they are tortures, forced to denounce themselves as Muslims, used as lab rats for human experiments and the women are raped if they refuse to marry a Chinese Han man. This modern day genocide has been reported to have gone on since 2017 with minimal media coverage. They are forced into doing inhumane amounts of labour to make products which we all use in our everyday life., and if they do not comply to the rules that are set in place by the Chinese government; they are never seen again. Do not turn a blind eye to what is going on, it is inhumane and horrifying. How To Help: https://www(dot)change(dot)org/p/united-nations-petition-to-free-muslims-in-chinese-concentration-camps". /End ID 8]
[Image ID 9: White text on a green background. "3. Slave Trade In Libya Yes you heard me, there is a whole slave trade going on in Libya. Libya, a country in North Africa, has been selling Black Africans into slavery for as little as $400. With Libya being a coastal country, it is a main transit point for refugees who are making the dangerous journey across the Mediterranean to Europe. As stated by TIME, 'For four uears in a row, 3,000 refugees have died while attempting the journey'. With countries beginning to crack down kn smugglers taking the migrants from Libya to Europe, detention centres are being oversubscribed - making them extremely dangerous and causing the migrants to become vulnerable to slave auctioneers. Women are being raped, organs are being harvested, and people are being killed. Why is there so little coverage of this? It needs to end. How To Help: https://www(dot)bustle(dot)com/p/how-to-help-stop-libyas-slave-trade-fight-slavery-around-the-world-5554300". /End ID 9]
[Image ID 10: White text on a green background. "4. Rohingya Crisis. The Rohingya, a Muslim Group who are one of Myanmar's ethnic minority, were sent fleeting in the thousands to the borders of Bangladesh in the summer of 2017 due to a deadly attack by the Myanmar army. The Rohingya were forced to flee their homes after the Myanmar army began to burn down their villages, attack and kill them and also rape the women. As stated by the BBC, 'At least 288 villages were partially or totally destroyed by fire in northern Rakhine state after August 2017', to 'A report published by UN investigators in August 2018 accused Myanmar's military of carrying out mass killings and rapes with "genocidal intent".' Since this horrific ethnic cleansing took place in 2017, there has been little response to this situation, both from Myanmar and society. The Rohingya have been targeted and opressed for years upon years but we hear nothing of it. We need to do better. How To Help: https://www(dot)unicef(dot)org(dot)uk/donate/rohingya-refugees/". /End ID 10]
