So it was about a year ago today that I started my weight loss journey. I had every intention to lose 100lbs at the end of 2019. Alas, it’s almost the end of the year and I’m not close to losing 100 pounds. There’s been a lot of up & downs, in both my life and my weight in 2019. Currently I’ve lost 21 pounds (84 pounds off my knees) so now I’m hoping to close out the year on a high note and finish out December strong!

Day 100 - Change of Plans
After a little over 3 months on Keto and after 35 pounds lost, I’m making a change. I’m still going to diet, I just want to incorporate more fruits into my diet. After 100 days of primarily eating meat, I’m ready to broaden my varieties. I am still fasting. No fast food. Limit diet soda to 2 a day. I now will be doing a weight watchers points plus plan, the old program that I had success on. I’m going to give it a try and see how it goes.

Day 128 - A Busy Weekend
This weekend was quite busy with softball 🥎 practice, yard work, my girls school carnival, and errands galore. I did finally get to relax tonight with an ice cold beer and some brats! Overall I had a pretty good weekend tracking!

Day 107 - Post Keto
I’m a week into transitioning out of Keto and things have went pretty well. I’ve been doing the old WeightWatchers PointsPlus plan and have been eating quite a few more carbs now. I didn’t lose much this last week but I also didn’t gain any weight so I’m calling it a win. I’m still not eating fast food and I’m trying to limit myself to good carbs. I adjusted my macros so that I can still monitor my carb intake.

Day 73 - Long Time, No Post
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on here. With the exception of a Taco Bell night and a couple pints of Halo Top, the diet is going very well. I’m not eating out much at all which not only helps me pass the pounds but also helps my wallet! I’ve been more open to trying new things, recently I’ve gotten hooked on Cauliflower Rice Stir-Fry! This stuff is ridiculously good. It throws in a couple kernels of corn and peas but the total net carbs are quite low.
So good! I’ve also started implementing fasting in my diet. Starting with 14 hours, not eating from 8:30 to 10:30 every day. Seems pretty manageable! I plan to mix in some exercise here in the next month.

Day 113 - Fine Tuning
Another week on WW PointsPlus and another no gain - no loss week. On one hand, man does it feel good to eat garbage and not pay for it on weigh in day. I do believe that the old PointsPlus system was/is the most liveable diet out there. That being said, I need to lose weight. Starting this week I have changed plans and am now following the old WW Beyond the Scale plan, which is using the same SmartPoints that they use now, which guides you to eating leaner cuts of meat, less sugar, and more fruits and veggies. Truth be told, I can’t be trusted with sugar as the past two weeks I’ve been engorging myself with them. I hope that with meal planning, proper snacking, and this new plan, I can hopefully report a weight loss next week. The good news? I have been eating over 200+ carbs a day for the past two weeks and still have lost a little weight. I was really worried that I’d gain substantially transitioning off Keto but it has went way better then I thought it would!

Day 26 - Forcing Myself to Eat
It is 1:30 in the afternoon and after putting off my lunch an hour, I decided that I would force myself to eat something. I’m not going to eat much because I feel stuffed. This diet blows my mind. I thought it was impossible for me to not be hungry constantly throoughout the day. Turns out all I needed to do was cut out all the junk that made my cravings jump all over the place. It’s just weird how those undeniable cravings of the past are now gone. I also lost another 2 pounds this morning. So far so good!

Day 23 - Caved a Bit
I didn’t get to posting yesterday after a night out with my friends. I started my morning off really good, but ate a few too many carbs by the end of the night. Even though I took in more carbs than I should have, I still kept everything in moderation. I think that’s still a win for the day.

Day 118 - Large & In Charge
So today didn’t go so well... in the past I would have not logged some of my food, choosing to ignore my bad choices. Not this time, I’m logging everything thoroughly and even though it was a bad day, I feel like my week has actually been good. My weeklies are gone and now I need to knuckle down and stay within my points for at least the next couple days.

Day 20 - Low Carb Life
Hello tumblr. My name is Cody and I am an overweight, single dad that battles depression & anxiety. After an unpleasant visit with my cardiologist, I decided that I needed to make some changes. I weighed in at 356lbs, the heaviest I have ever been. After bouncing around on different weight loss plans, I settled in on a low carb diet. So far I have lost 12 pounds and I feel pretty good. I’m going to start posting here to hold myself accountable and track my progress.

Day 33 - 37 - Not A Hiatus
Well, it’s been a few days since I’ve posted on here. Still going strong on the low carb diet, with the exception of the pint of Halo Top Oatmeal Cookie. My weight loss has slowed a bit. Adjusted my macros a bit. Went grocery shopping today and I should be more than setup for another good week.

Day 31 - Weigh to Go! 1 Month Down!!
So I have officially been on a low carb diet for 1 month now and I feel great! Weighed myself this morning and I weighed in at 335, 21lbs lost this month! Usually when I’m dieting, I have to convince myself to keep with it and eventually I fall off the wagon. This time though, I actually can feel and see a difference. I’m not always hungry. I’m not taking antacids every night. My plantar fasciitis has stopped flaring up and no longer almost fall over when stepping out of bed. My knee that I had surgery on is no longer locking up on me and I have full movement.
Some people questioned why I would start dieting in December and not waiting for the new year. I can now proudly say that I chose to so I would get a 21lb head start into 2019. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Day 29 & 30 - Peanut Butter for the Win!
I didn’t get fat overnight & I’m not going to lose weight overnight. I am a work in progress and that’s ok. I have been Keto for 30 days now and I’m surprised how easy the diet has been to follow so far. The real MVP is my jar of peanut butter. I have always had a terrible sweet tooth so anytime I’d start craving sweets, I’d go get a spoonful of PB (sometimes 2) and feel satisfied & content.
