More Hordad!AU concept drawings, this time taking a closer look at his and Adora's stay in the Scorpion Kingdom!

Hordak and King Scorpion heaving a little man talk while introducing Adora and Scorpia to each other. Scorpia's Grandad is a big softy and took Hordak and his little daughter in with open arms, I think that's something we can all agree on

Okay, the King may have accepted Hordak just fine, but many were very suspicious, especially the King's daughter-in-law, who reeeeaaaally didn't vibe with this strange cat who randomly showed up with a child on their kingdom one day and was OBVIOUSLY NOT Etherian. She was fine with Adora, though. She and Scorpia hit it right away, they just playn'

Hordak's defect didn't stay hidden for long. He needed to constantly make changes and upgrades to his armor and with Adora and Scorpia having free roam of the castle and his laboratory, it wouldn't be long before he passed out due to either pain or exhaustion. Baby Adora didn't react very well to that...

Things changed as Adora one day wandered to outside the castle and found a kitten in a shoe box. She brought her back to the castle, where she presented the kitten to Scorpia and then to the Scorpion royal family. Hordak did not have any say on this as they had already named her "Catra" and the new furball refused to leave Adora's side. She didn't know how to talk and the Scorpion Princesses were pretty sure she had never seen a sofa in her life... But Hordak couldn't really help but feel a sense of dejavu, he just couldn't put his finger on it...

What to do with all these babies the life is throwing at you?

In the Hordad au/Daddak au/Hermitdak au, what would the problems be on Etheria and adventures Adora and her friends go on since the Horde isn't a problem? Also, what adventures would Hordak go on with Adora?

Hermitdak AU the First One Elemental problem is notably worse. That's a whole thing right there.

There's also a lot of just, tension, because Ruby and I have gone with the idea that things were already tense between Scorpion kingdom and Bright Moon (possibly because of bigotry toward non standard humanoids on Bright Moons part.) Also Shadow Weaver lives in the Scorpion Kingdom so that's a whole thing.

So really there's just a lot more smaller things going on than any single big thing.

As for Hordak and Adora adventures...

Honestly anything Adora seriously asked him to help with would be on the table. If he heard she was in trouble he'd cross the planet to help her too.

On Hordak's side of things, he's kinda just into doing chores and tinkering, so...

I think the best part of Hordad au is that Hordak would probs give up the whole conquest and reaching out to Prime pretty early. (considering his time with Entrapta made him not want Prime to come for him anymore)

Its just fun to imagine how things could have gone if he had just settled in and tried to live WITH the people of Etheria (instead of trying to take over)

And I just love the idea of him having a bond and actually caring for Adora hhh (he's never had something/someone rely on him like that) and instead of being like "I have to get back to Prime" his main focus is "I have to ensure this small being's survival"

I reeeally wanna draw Angella and Hordak interacting as parents in Daddak AU ffff I just see them being so tense and snobbish to each other lol

Angella is like "I trust my daughter so I'll trust Adora. But I don't trust you" (think she'd know Hordak has been touched by dark magic from Shadow Weaver's "healing" and Angella won't touch that shit with a 10 foot pole)

And Hordak is just like "yeah as a parent I respect that. But also as a parent know that if something happens to my kid while she is in YOUR care... I will raise all hell"

How would Horde Prime be in the Hordad au/Daddak au? Also since Hordak made a life of his own raising Adora would he be rebellious when he meets Prime again?

you know I haven’t fully thought about Horde Prime yet... I don’t think he’d be rebellious per say... we’d probably see him pretty similar to how he was in canon when he met Prime again and was pretty much cowering before him. I don’t think he’d be thrilled to see him obviously (he didn’t really think to even try to get back to him) he’d probably feel deeply guilty that instead of trying to get back to Prime he didn’t...
