Thinking about the dragon age characters meeting the bg3 characters occupies a large part of my brain nowadays

Anders would likely hate Astarion with a passion (probably because he reminds him of himself without Justice) and also want to fuck him. Zevran would jump Astarion immediately. Knives to each other’s necks as they both try to assassinate each other at the same time and then just end up on the ground for a different reason. Fenris, despite their similar backgrounds, would fucking hate Astarion. Isabela would so enjoy tormenting Gale. Karlach would try and probably fail to befriend Fenris. Lae’zel and Fenris, however, would be friends. Same with Shadowheart. Anders would not be able to resist Halsin. It is canon that this man likes bears (not the actual kind). Alistair and Lae’zel would get along like oil and water. Alistair and Shadowheart however could talk about their religious trauma together. Alistair and Wyll would definitely get along. I want to see Morrigan, Solas, and Gale all interact. The sheer amount of hubris in one place would literally cause an explosion (“I fucked a god” “I gave birth to a reincarnated old god” “bitch I AM a god”). Merrill and Withers. That’s it.

My fav da2 group dynamic in fics has got to be when; even if they don’t all like like each other, everyone is at least a little bit in love with each other, platonically (first and foremost) and/or romantically.

Leandra throwing so many parties among Kirkwall's elite, but she never fails to invite Garrett and all of his friends. She even ensures that they all attend. The nobility always likes to talk amongst themselves about how unique Hawke's friend group is, but Leandra will shut down any negative talk about them, and quick.

Even outside of parties, she's basically the mother figure of the whole friend group. Always greets them with joy when they stop by the estate to speak with Hawke. Makes sure that they have all eaten and rested. Scolds them when they don't take care of themselves. Assures them that, if any of them ever need a place to lay low or make a quick escape (especially in the case of the mage companions), they're more than welcome to come over until the coast is clear.

One of the most underrated aspects of the Kirkwall crew dynamics is the fact that Hawke is likely the youngest person in the group canonically

Isabela and Varric are about 30. Anders is in his late 20s or early 30s. Merrill is in her late 20s. Hawke is 24 or 25. The only thing saving Hawke from being the youngest is the fact we don’t know Fenris��� canonical age.

Hawke really went from being the Grown Up in their family to being the youngest in their friend group. Isabela has definitely told Hawke “I’ll explain it when you’re older.” Hawke comments on Fenris being a little slow in battle and he quips back “my knees aren’t what they used to be.” If Hawke gets more kills than Varric, he hits him with “back when I was your age-”

This is canonical untapped comedy gold. Why aren’t we talking about this
