Useless Veilguard fact of the day: Day 49

If you complete Emmrich's questline and make him a lich before he goes on the camping trip with Harding, you can hear some unique voicelines.

Rook: So going outdoors is still… fun, for a lich? Emmrich: Nature remains cloaked in all its glory. Though the elements pose less of a worry. Harding: Exactly! You're a skeleton under your magic. Why are you even bringing different clothes? Emmrich: My dear Harding, a gentleman should always look presentable. Harding: (Exasperated noise) To who? The squirrels? Emmrich: That should be "to whom." Harding: I am going to stab you with an arrow. Emmrich: I really have looked forward to you showing me more of your home, Harding. Harding: Me, too. Oh! Are you going to be a lich in the woods? Emmrich: If it's not an inconvenience. Can we still have a campfire? Harding: We have to have a campfire. And spooky stories. Emmrich: Wonderful! Actually I'll talk about it now to clear my mind before bedtime:

I think I've played enough now to say definitively that I don't like Rook. I wish I could choose not to have Natalene smirk and quip so much. I wish the tone options made a difference.

I wish whenever I chose an 'I distrust Solas' option Rook didn't fire off what sounds and feels like a tumblr post. I wish Those Lore Drops weren't delivered via murals and then peer reviewed in the Veilguardian group chat.

And maybe more than any of those things: I wish Rivain was more than a coast and an arenaaaaa. 🫂

adding to this post here that i just reblogged but i cannot get over vivienne and the constant dehumanization she faces by the orlesian court. before what happened in kirkwall, mages weren't feared in orlais. they were fashion accessories. vivienne is called the jewel of the high court of orlais. her character kit explicitly says the reason why she dresses so finely even during combat and situations where one would usually wear armor is because to dress for comfort or purpose is scandal. beauty is tied to power. she must be beautiful. she must be seen as desirable. im soo,,, agh
