On This Day In History . 18th January 1486 . King Henry VII married Elizabeth of York . . ◼ As the eldest daughter of Edward IV with no surviving brothers, Elizabeth of York actually had a strong claim to the throne in her own right, but she did not take the throne as queen regnant.
