Written by Nancy Ann Miller Directed by Jorge Montesi
This week, we are at the Silver Dollar bar and pool hall. A game is being played between Danny and some other guy, and Danny isn't doing well. He asks a waitress to get him another drink, and she defends him to a fellow waitress who isn't a fan. The waitress, Jennifer, tries to boost his morale, but the other player says Danny should just get a job. They continue to play, and Danny loses. He takes the money he owes from Jennifer, even though she protests that it is for their wedding.
Later, in the store room, the other waitress is killed by someone we don't see but she recognizes. And she is killed by being run through with a pool cue.
Back at the table, Danny is playing again and doing better, getting all the shots he calls. He wins.
At Curious Goods, Micki tells Ryan and Jack their cab has arrived. Seems the two of them are off to a lodge in search of cursed snow shoes. Jack asks about the pool cue Ryan was on to, and Ryan says a friend named Johnny was going to do some looking around. They leave. Micki is hoping for a quiet weekend.
Jennifer and her sister Christy are doing a fitting for Jennifer's wedding dress. Jennifer's head is in the clouds with regards to Danny, but her sister tries to remind her that Danny has been stringing her along. Jennifer says they are setting a date after the pool tournament but Christy isn't buying it. She also comments that she has had to refit the wedding dress a few times and that she is gaining weight. Jennifer looks at herself in the mirror.
Later, Jennifer is talking wedding plans with an uninterested Danny, then she throws up. Danny goes back to sleep.
At the pool hall, Danny is playing again and being watched by a woman at the bar, and a man. The bar owner wonders where his other waitress is, as Jennifer tries to cover the busy place.
The phone rings at Curious Goods and the man calling asks to talk to Ryan. Micki says he's out of town. The guy, Johnny, says he thinks he found the pool cue Ryan was looking for. Micki says she's on her way. Johnny acts cool and cocky to her on the phone.
Danny is arguing with the other player, but Jennifer calms him down. Micki and Johnny meet, and he shows her Danny, and says he hasn't missed a shot all night. Micki tries to say thank you, but Johnny asks about her and Ryan and why they are so interested in a pool cue. Johnny seems to think it is just a lucky cue and offers to play Danny in a game. Danny suddenly misses a shot and gets pissed. Johnny grabs the cue and tries to run but is stopped and tossed out. Micki pretends to not know him.
Later, she meets Johnny outside and he shrugs off his bloody lip. She tells him she can take it from here. Johnny tries to ask her out, but she bows out and leaves.
In the pool hall, Jennifer and the other player are talking about Danny. Seems the guys were once good friends, but only Jennifer continues to see the good in Danny. He tries to tell her to walk away. Jennifer rolls the pool cue and we see one of Lewis' curse mark on it. She grabs it and stabs the dude, lifting him straight into the air. He dies. Seems Jennifer is the one keeping Danny from being a complete loser at pool.
At a clinic, Jennifer waits and then is told by a nurse that she's pregnant. She goes home and Danny is there to get his cue. She said she missed him, he asks for some money. She mentions the wedding and he takes off.
That night at the Silver Dollar, Micki is trying to get hired as a waitress. She gets the job and is told to introduce herself to Jennifer. Jennifer makes sure Micki knows Danny is off limits. She tells her they are getting married tomorrow after the tournament at Ruby's. Micki asks about the game. Micki opens the freezer for ice, but Jennifer shuts it before Micki can see the body inside. She takes the bucket and sends Micki away. She talks to her baby, still believing her and Danny will be happy.
Danny is winning his games again, to the adulation of the crowd. The owner gives him the trophy. Micki makes a move for the cue, but her boss puts her to work. Jennifer congratulates Danny and asks him to spend the night, but he says no. He keeps making eye contact with a woman at the bar as he packs his cue away.
At Curious Goods, a tired Micki is not thrilled when Johnny arrives. He looks around the shop, but Micki wants him to go. Johnny wants to take her to lunch, but she begs off.
At another dress fitting, Christy is again trying to get through to her sister about Danny. Jennifer can't see it. Danny arrives with flowers. Christy leaves. Danny tries to get some physical attention, but Jennifer wants to talk wedding. Danny gets upset and Jennifer placates him. They fall into bed.
At the hall, the boss leaves Jennifer and Micki to close up and tells Danny he has a lot of money on him. Danny isn't making his shots and is frustrated. He spots the blonde again and blows off Jennifer and takes off. Jennifer grabs his cue and racks it as Micki watches. Jennifer gets suspicious. Later, Jennifer talks about Danny and Micki asks some questions. Jennifer seems deluded about Danny's true nature. Micki asks about the cue stick and Jennifer says it is their good luck charm. She aims the cue at Micki's back, but Johnny knocks and interrupts. Jennifer recognizes him and Micki tries to toss him out. Johnny plays along. They leave as Jennifer wonders what's up.
Micki yells at Johnny, saying he messed up her plans. Johnny wants to know what's up, but a frustrated Micki leaves. Later, Johnny breaks into the Silver Dollar and steals all of the cues. He goes to the back room to get ice for his hand and spots the body in the freezer. He takes off.
Johnny goes to Curious Goods and wakes Micki up. He shows her all the pool cues and tells her about the body in the freezer. Micki grabs a cue and breaks it, then another. Johnny does the same, confused. Micki says the one she wants can't be broken. Johnny is lost and wants answers. Micki says the one she wants is cursed. Johnny scoffs, and asks if she means cursed by the Devil. Micki says yes, but she is also confused cause Danny didn't seemed worried when he left it at the hall.
Later, Micki and Johnny are going over the information Ryan had amassed in regards to the pool cue. He finds an article with a picture of Jennifer and they realize she is the one using it. Micki knows that Jennifer has been using it to help Danny win.
Jennifer is alone, talking to her unborn child, about Danny and when to tell him about the baby. She calls Danny, and he is less than thrilled. He tells her he wants sleep. As he hangs up we see he is bed with someone else.
Micki and Johnny arrive at Jennifer's apartment, but no one answers. Johnny knocks the door in and they search the apartment but find no cue. A cop knocks on the door and Johnny sends Micki out the back while he answers the door.
That night, Jennifer goes to Danny's place and finds him with her sister, Christy. Danny says he never intended to marry her. Christy says Danny is fun, and that she isn't the only one. Jennifer puts the pool cue together as she confronts her sister, then kills her with it as Danny watches. She tells him she's being doing it so that he can keep winning. She holds the cue to his neck and tells him he is going to marry her. She kisses him.
Micki arrives at Ruby's where the tournament is happening. Danny is currently winning and heads to the finale. Danny is reluctantly winning, and the Silver Dollar boss is anxious to keep winning. Johnny arrives having made bail. Micki says Jennifer must have used the cue again. But they see Danny miss a shot and know Jennifer will need to kill again. They follow Danny out.
Jennifer is at the wedding room, in her dress with the cake and all. Danny arrives and says it is all over, but Jennifer won't hear it. They struggle, Johnny arrives and gets knocked out. Danny beats Jennifer with the cue and she crashes into the table with the cake. He leaves.
He arrives back at Ruby's to keep playing and Micki sees him. The game begins and Danny makes his first shot. They we hear a deluded and bloody Jennifer arrive, in her wedding dress. She calls Danny a loser an stabs him. He dies on the pool table and she collapses.
Ryan is back at Curious Goods and Micki and Johnny come in with the cue stick. Jack asks what happened when they see Johnny's injuries. Johnny tells them that Micki has told him about the curse. Micki fills them in on Jennifer. Jack says thank you to Johnny, but doesn't know how they can repay him, He says Micki owes him a dinner and offers to keep helping them in their mission.
My thoughts:
First off, we meet Johnny! He is played off a little more smug and uber-confident, like he's a ladies man, but this can also be seen as him trying to look super smooth in the eyes of the beautiful Micki. He is definitely toned down a bit in the future. But he is willing to help Micki out and even gets beaten up and tossed in jail. He even takes the curse information in stride. Not a bad first meeting.
The pool cue is a different kind of cursed item. And the fact that Jennifer is the one powering it and Danny is just clueless is a good twist.
Jennifer is obviously already unstable, as shown by her devotion to the cad that Danny is. But she is treated like crap by both Danny and her sister, so she has some sympathy there. Although she has killed innocent people just so Danny can win pool games, so… No winners here.
And she wasn't great about hiding bodies. In the freezer of a busy bar? Surprised they stayed hidden for so long. And that the tournament went on after the cops found the bodies!
Sending Ryan and Jack off so Micki and Johnny have to get the cue together must have been a way for them to showcase the chemistry they are hoping for between them. Hard for those of us in the Ryan/Micki camp. And at the time, we were clueless as to why Johnny was suddenly here, so Ryan was still viable to us.
Johnny isn't a bad character, but Ryan is a lot to replace.
As for Jennifer, does she die at the end? Or just collapse and was later arrested? We'll never know.

Paul Newman was one of the coolest movie stars in Hollywood. Then he got old. Then he got even cooler. He’d have been 96 today.
Frank Galvin in The Verdict. D: Sidney Lumet (1982). Newman plays a washed-up, alcoholic Boston lawyer given a slam-dunk settlement case (a woman in a coma due to a Roman Catholic hospital’s malpractice) who decides to actually go to trial, taking on a huge firm headed by a high-priced attorney (James Mason) in a trial presided over by a judge (Milo O’Shea) who doesn’t like him. What could have been a rousing David vs. Goliath movie is muted by Newman’s self-loathing, and the desperation of his stab at redemption and his desire to believe. As he tells the jury, “Today you are the law. Not some book not the lawyers not the, a marble statue, or the trappings of the court. They are… they are in fact a prayer: a fervent and frightened prayer. If we are to have faith in justice, we need only to believe in ourselves and ACT with justice.” Newman invests those words with a bitter hopefulness that a younger actor could never manage.
Earl Long in Blaze. D: Robert Shelton (1989). Ostensibly about the affair that the Stripper Blaze Starr (Lolita Davidovich) had with the Governor of Louisiana, the movie comes to life as a tall-tale version of Louisiana politics and Newman gives a funny, outsized performance as a populist who sells his progressive ideas under a corrupt redneck’s mask (“I never bought a Congressman in my life! I rent ‘em. It’s cheaper.”). When his political enemies have him committed to a mental institution, he fires the hospital’s administrator, and replaces him with another one who springs him. It’s one of Newman’s most overlooked movies and one of the most fun.
Donald “Sully” Sullivan in Nobody’s Fool. D: Robert Benton (1994). In this autumnal comedy about a freelance contractor, living in the same small New York village he grew up in, who takes stock of his life when he reconnects with his unemployed college professor son and young grandson, Newman gets the rhythms of the comfortable grudges, half-affectionate insults (“Sully, you’re the only man I know dumb enough to believe in luck.” “I believed in brains and hard work until I met you.”) and half-hearted flirtation that define small-town life. In a movie where not much of consequence happens, Newman, delineating the contours of a wasted life that was still worth living, gave the best performance of the year.

4 Female Animators You Should Check Out.
Happy Women’s HIstory Month everyone! It’s a time to celebrate the members of the finer sex whom we don’t celebrate often enough. There are so many influential women in every field who do what they can to propel our society forward in the sciences, in the trades and, of course, in the arts. Being such an occasion, I thought it would be fun to bring attention to some of my favorite woman animators from online! I love the work of these women for their slickness, amazing color, satisfying movement and overall just good vibes coming from their animation. I’ll of course leave links to their social media and websites for every entry so you can go out and find them and give them the love they deserve, as well as links to my favorite work of theirs respectively. Without further ado, here are my 4 favorite woman animators from online!
1. Joanna Davidovich
youtube
Joanna’s animation style is oozing with charm. Bouncy, curvy, colorful, beautiful in it’s simplicity with great color and design choices, it always puts me in a good mood to watch her stuff. I’ve watched her above video, “Monkey Rag” at least 50 times at this point. It compliments the song it accompanies perfectly and gives off an uplifting Betty Boop kind of vibe. It’s adorable and sweet and is one of the most frequently played things I put on to get in the mood to animate. Her animation livestreams are pretty entertaining too IMO. It’s always interesting for me to see an animators work flow and to see what makes them tick. Joanna has a very curvy linework sort of art style that rarely has any sharp edges and it creates a great inviting effect. Plus her backgrounds are great too, they sort of remind me of a happier Samurai Jack. Other notable works of hers include, but certainly not limited to: Ads for Adventure Time,Ads for Looney Tunes, Creation Museum, pencil animation for Trix and Coco Puffs cereal commercials.
Here are her social media links: go subscribe and follow her!

2. Vivienne “Vivsiepop” Medrano
youtube
So if you’re any fan of online animation, chances are you’re already well aware of Vivsiepop, as you very much should be. Her most popular video is her fan made music video of Ke$ha’s “Die Young”, and while I 100% agree that video is SPECTACULAR and a GREAT example of Vivienne’s talent, I’m personally more keen on her SVA thesis film “Timber”. It’s a bit simpler then the previously mentioned music video in it’s movement and character design but is still a great demonstration of Vivienne’s profound knack for color choice and WONDERFUL character design with dynamic and wildly expressive characters that sort of make me think of a mixture of Tim Burton, Dr. Seuss and Steven Universe all at once (anyone else see it? No? Just me? Okay.). Not to mention this short is also a great demonstration of Vivienne’s skill at visual storytelling with nice contrasting colors between protagonists and antagonists and a great gag I won’t give away. Other great works of hers include: Her fan made music video for Owl City’s “Silhouette”, The short “The Son of 666″, and her music video of “Most Wonderful Time (Of The Year)” in case you’re in a christmasy mood. Plus she has TONS of speed draw videos you can watch on her youtube channel and an online webcomic series called “Zoophobia” (Not to be confused with Zootopia)
Here are links to her stuff! Go Subscribe and Follow her!

3. Imogen Scoppie, a.k.a “Iscoppie”
youtube
Anybody who’s a regular follower of the activities of Game Grumps will likely recognize this animator instantly. Known for her MANY phenomenal Game Grumps Animateds both in the Jon era AND Danny era, Iscoppie has delighted her viewers time and time again with her slick movement, bright and happy colors, lovely pastel-like textures and color blended linework. You’ll never see a black outlined character in her work, which really makes the contrast all the more distinct. My personal favorite work of hers is the Alien parody you see above, creating a hilarious contrast between the dark intimidating tone of the franchise and Iscoppie’s carefree atmosphere in her repertoire. Not to mention the cutaways and line delivery in this short is awesome. Her other notable works include: UNDERTALE ANNIVERSARY, Game Grumps Animated: Appropriate Story, and Game Grumps Animated: TOKE-Mon. Side note: she also has incredibly charming cooking vlogs and whatnot on her youtube channel.
Check out her stuff!:

4. Sandra D. Rivas
vimeo
We wrap up our list with an animator you may have seen the works of ALL over the internet. She’s known for her work on many of the Starbomb music videos like The Hero of Rhyme and The Simple Plot of Metal Gear Solid, on which she worked with the rest of Studio Yotta, And she also worked on other widely popular internet series like Eddsworld and the pilot for the series Obitruary. I love Sandra’s style for it’s simple yet defined expression, easy to remember character design, and once again use of color (have I said that enough times yet?). You can definitely see her influence all across the board.
Check her stuff out, yo!

So that concludes my 4 favorite female animators from the web! They all have phenomenal work that always deserves more attention, and on a month in which we celebrate the feats and accomplishments of women what better time then now? Please subscribe to these ladies, follow them and give them some love! Consider donating to their Patreons as well!

Actually the poem is sort of fascinating albeit no doubt a waste of the author’s time in the long run. Sure, it’s ostentatious as hell, but a few passages do warrant a measure of appreciation, such as:
“ “Let's switch to 'D' words then," said Don Dominic D'Arcy D'Arbanville Davidovich. "Fuck off, you dumb dildo!" cried Cleo and Clarissa in complete unison. Meanwhile, Bruce, feeling like a fashious, feckless fefnicate... ”
Soon after, our man Gary hangs up the phone.
“ "Meow. Who was that?" asked his wife Gretchen the galericulate galeanthropist. ”
The poor man who is partnered with a hat-wearing wanna-be feline woman.
More on this tale as it develops.

As cold water can turn food into poison
http://amazing-cooking.tumblr.com
As cold water may convert food into poison In practice the Soviet radiologists (Prof. V. D. Lin - denbratt, 1969) was such a case. It was necessary to achieve retention of barium porridge in the stomach for the time necessary for x-rays. But it turned out that if the porridge to give without preheating (directly from the refrigerator), the cereal leaves the stomach faster than the radiologists had time to adjust their the then (1969), not as a perfect instrument. Radiologists interested in this fact, conducted experiments and found that if you drink cold drinks food (e.g., ice water or Pepsi-Cola with ice), the residence time of food in the stomach is reduced from 4-5 hours to 20 minutes(more on this in a doctoral thesis Lindenbraten Vitaly Davidovich “Materials to the question of the effect on the body. La”, 1969, Institute of experimental medicine, Academy of medical Sciences of the USSR, Leningrad). That is, when taking cold water food is literally pushed out of the stomach. This is, first, a direct path to obesity, because such foods cannot be satisfied, and hunger comes very quickly. Second, and begin putrefactive processes in the intestine, because the normal digestion and as such was not. By the way, this is the way in which “McDonald's” has made a lot of money. Washing down the food (sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs) icy drinks, people will never be able to eat fast food and then come to eat again and again. Thus on hot drinks - tea, coffee set high enough price, or they are not included in sets, or they just do not advertise. But ice-cold Coca-Cola is relatively cheap and aggressively enforced colourful signs and their colors. But this applies not only to Coca-Cola, all cold drinks very quickly leaving the stomach. In the stomach is the preparation of proteins for subsequent processing and assimilation. So (please!): if you drink any cold drink after a meal, the protein part of the food will not be fully processed in the stomach, proteins are not broken down into amino acids. Food ball quickly leaves the stomach, and the whole protein component will just rot in the intestine (neoperabelny protein at a temperature of 36.6 degrees relatively quickly begins to rot). You are just wasting your money for food, but instead use get damage in intestinal inflammatory diseases (colitis, enteritis) and dysbiosis. So, the conclusion is: do not drink cold drinks before or after a meal. All liquids must have a temperature below room temperature. The same applies to the reception of ice cream if there's ice cream after a meal, the effect will be the same - a food ball will quickly leave the stomach and its protein component will remain undigested. Also a popular misconception is a strong belief that cold water quenches thirst faster. Physiologists explain that this is not so. Cold water takes much more time to get metabolized by the body: for that she needs to warm up in the stomach to body temperature (36.6 degrees). Water at room temperature or even warmer instantly absorbed and brings instant relief. Ayurveda also adamantly against the water, especially cold, before, during and immediately after a meal. As thus quenched Agni (digestive fire).
