did you know there was a GTN on CZ-198?
I was honestly impressed by the variety of lighting/color schemes here, I think of the planet as all looking the same.
also the photo is hideous but I never noticed these "teeth" in the trash compactor before

Queer Star Wars Characters (Round 1): SWTOR Romance Options Match 3
Eva Kaayz| Identity: playersexual | Media: SWTOR
Eva Kaayz is a chief operations officer of Czerka who attempts to sell information to the Sith Empire’s Ordnance Acquisition Corps. She acts as the introductory NPC for the Imperial side of the CZ-198 storyline. Player characters of either gender can flirt with her during the story line, which can end with the two of them going on a date. There is no full romance storyline with her afterwards.
Cytharat | Identity: gay | Media: SWTOR
Cytharat was a protegee of Darth Malgus who remained loyal to the Empire after his master’s betrayal. He is met by the player character when he is a tactical advisor to the team sent to secure Makeb for the Sith Empire. Uniquely for SWTOR romance options, he can only be flirted with by male player characters. If the player chooses the light side option at the end of the expansion, he will survive and culminate their romance with a kiss.
Cytharat was introduced in the 2013 Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion for SWTOR. He was the first same-gender romance option in the game, paired with Lemda Avesta for the Republic storyline. This began the trend of making all future romances non-gender locked.

ehehehe I used Ody for one of the cz-198 runs, she was not-quite-52 when I started, is halfway to 54 now that it’s done, which means I can use her to run Korriban/Tython as actual SoR prelude bc why not? now. :3

Honestly I love the diverse options to make each character/player unique and special in the world... My friends and I can have separate companions on each of our characters (alts included).
But I also totally get it, everything you said. I think the biggest problem is how the functionality and UI work, it makes progression become burdensome. You long for the days you had only 8 companions, because having 50 is annoying af. Even if we could send out more than 8, do you know how long it would take to send everyone out? You'd be clicking on the menu for like 10 minutes, the duration of running a set of dailies like CZ-198.
They need a major UI and functionality overhaul. Imagine instead of a crew skills window and a companion window, we have a "Crew" and "Alliance" window.
The Alliance window shows all accessible companions, and lets you read about them. It can have the companion recruitment part of it too, to gain more companions. Take away the combat roles and summons part, and instead just have a selector where you pick 8 companions to have on your ship, in your "Crew".
Then in the Crew window, you have the 8 companions you've selected for your crew. These people show up on your ship. You can summon them from this panel. And there are 8 specific role spots these companions fill: 2 tanks, 2 healers, 4 DPS. You can easily swap a companion's place on the team to change their role, but it incentivizes summoning a different companion when you want a different role alongside you (like how it was in vanilla).
It also supports the new crafting system: One queue system for the Crew. You can still queue up 8 lines of tasks at the same time (crafting and gathering) but your ops team of companions works on these together as a crew. This would let us summon any of the 8 companions at any time to fight alongside us, while still using all of them for crafting & gathering. Best of both worlds
Idk just an idea
SWTOR Hot Take (Maybe?)
Why do we need 30+ companions?
I think they really should have limited the number of side companions they have given us since KotFE started. If they weren't part of the main story, have them come back like the missing ones did, OR have them in the base but only useable by the origin character. Star Fortress Companions: Did we really need 6 random ones? Why not have them base cosmetic only like Koth's crew. There to make the Alliance feel like it's growing.
C2-N2 or 2V-R8: OK, fine, an extra protocol droid. No big deal.
Ak'ghal Usar: Interesting backstory, and he mentions Tenebre (Black-eyed Sith) way before we see him. Reward Companions: While I love several of them, and they are great for starting crafting on a low-level character, again, we don't need as many.
OR MAKE IT SO WE CAN USE MORE THAN EIGHT FOR CRAFTING/GATHERING!
-heavy panting- Ok. Rant over.

[UNKNOWN REGIONS: CZ-198]
CZ-198 was an exotic moon in the Unknown Regions that acted as a testing ground and laboratory for the Czerka Corporation during the time of the Galactic War. It was one of the most advanced product development facilities created by the corporation. Activities in this facility were directed by Special Executive Rasmus Blys.
CZ-198 had a Type II atmosphere, and breathing masks were recommended for most species. Minimal surface water created a rocky, barren surface covered with a heavy cloud of dust and atmospheric haze. The only known settled region was a Czerka laboratory that specialized in bioweaponry, one of the company's most advanced. The facility was equally as advanced, with a rail system and cutting-edge technology throughout.
The facility was forcibly taken back from Czerka due to the nature of its experiments, though the Republic and the Empire had vastly different goals in attacking. The Vigilant, Blys' most ambitious bioweapon, was destroyed.

(And now, time for another edition of Crazy Lady Makes a Huge-ass Post About How She Plays SWTOR!)
Being a clicker on a laptop was.. not ideal. I set up keybinds almost immediately after I started playing. But it's so much nicer, I stuck with it even after moving to my desktop.
I use a Razer Nostromo as my left-hand keypad and have WASD and jump mapped to it, along with keybinds for switch targets, inventory, map, companion window, mission log, crafting window, character sheet, and companion's interrupt ability. All attacks/defensives are mapped to keys I can reach with my right hand, which is basically the number pad and a bunch of keys close to it. I also have a specific Nostromo layout I use for GSF, space missions, and the swoop event.
I've been keeping screenshots of attack keybinds for each combat style for a while now (useful for alts and mirror classes), and with 7.0 I finally decided to organize the rest of my toolbars to keep them the same across all characters.
Toolbars 1-2: Main abilities (attacks, defensives, basically all the stuff used in combat)
Toolbar 3: Social and movement (mount, rocket boots, sprint, threat drop if available, stealth if available, force speed if available, a bunch of social toys)
Toolbar 4: Utilities (escape, recover, unity, heroic moment, macrobinoc & seeker droid, legacy cargo hold, Revan holostatue, kick Huttball, warzone medpack & adrenal)
Toolbar 5: Travel (QT, fleet pass, qt for Black Hole / CZ-198 / Oricon / Rishi / Yavin 4 / Odessen)
Toolbar 6: any main ability overflow, and stupid shit (snowballs, tinsel bomb, party Jawa, companion dance, etc)
Biochemists like Kasaji have a slightly modified layout on toolbars 4 & 5 to account for a gold stim, medpack, and adrenal.
When screenshotting toolbar layouts for a class whose mirror I haven't completed yet, I also take screenshots of the tooltips from the skill tree to easily pick the same skills on the mirror class. (It would be easy if the mirror class's skill tree options were all in the same spots, but of course they're not.)
One big asterisk to all this: healers. I still don't do a ton of healing, so there's some clicking going on.
Healers have their own layout on the Nostromo that trades the "convenience" keys for 1-6 and Num+, which in turn I have mapped to most of the healing abilities, so I can do 90% of movement and healing with my left hand. Num- and Ins round this out on the right hand. I have an awesome vertical mouse that has two extra buttons on the thumb side, which I've bound to Focus Target Modifier and Target Self for easier "oh shit" heals. Right hand is usually clicking these, otherwise it's clicking to switching targets (especially in larger groups) clicking the occasional attack/defense ability, or sliding over to Num- or Ins.
So I've recently learned the way I play SWTOR is weird.
I keymap my quickbar and use my left hand for attacks, and I move my character solely with my mouse.
I've learned other people used WASD to move and click the quickbar with their mouse.
So how do you play? Are you a clicker or a keymapper?
I can't be the only one who plays this way??

The scan data that you find on CZ-198 on the bonus mission to get the CZ-W4 pet is a trip. Some of it is lighthearted “working for Czerka is just like working anywhere and definitely not like working for a faceless evil megacorporation that actively wants you dead,” some of it has callbacks to other missions (side missions on Tatooine, Czerka Labs flashpoints, the CZ-198 dailies), and one of them is a father’s last letter to his child, begging for her forgiveness for the things he’s done in Czerka’s name.
But! I got a new friend out of it all:

As mentioned in my post about hitting Renown 999, I got every class to Renown 100! Took about 5 months total (Dec 2019-May 2020) and that includes lots of overlap with the Renown 999 grind.
