I had the pleasure of attending, (participating behind the scenes) Classique’s CLASSIFIED video release, presented by PLAYWITROX!

It’s an interesting perspective when you're secluded in a DJ booth. I was all ears. So I didn’t get to see everything visually, only the #CYPHERACCESS. So, what are my thoughts? I loved the aspect of having other beautiful artists participate in this event. Artists such has Dud Music, JustSean, Steph Styuhls, Laura Jay Nolan, Shaina “Songbird” Lauren, ThreeDeez, and Dvinchi Kode just to name a few. There was a theme of love, heartbreak, confidence, and renaissance. Hopefully you can catch some clips on Instagram using the #Class516 hashtag.

However, the night was focused on Classique’s video release from her song, “Dori” (listen on Soundcloud @Classique516) which focused on an important issue of love and pain. Although this is my interpretation this is something you should see on your own to observe your own thoughts. For me, the video displayed how one can be in a relationship with love, but the pain/abuse whether verbal or physical is a reoccurring issue. Does one stay, or leave? It can be confusing. I feel some perceive this as an easy situation to leave when being mistreated but, many struggle with “rushing to fill that void” one of the lines in this song. An issue that floated in my mind was that some feel if they are monogamous with someone it is impossible to rape/sexually abuse them. Rape is anytime someone engages in sexual activity without giving consent. So yes, even if you’re married, and your partner does not wish to engage in sexual activity and they are forced to, it is rape. The actors in the video (well delivered visually and filmed by @prof_) exhibited this issue. I hope that those that had the pleasure of attending this event were moved by this piece and share this with others, not necessarily on a premise of agreeing or disagreeing, but to open the conversation.

I always appreciate an artist. Especially one that opens conversation on issues or greatness that needs to be addressed in society.

The event had a great turn out and all those involved should be proud. I do hope there will be another event soon! Hopefully, if you didn’t make this one you can attend the next, its something that’s definitely worth your presence.
