‘Children Of Blood And Bone’ Film Adaptation Sets Principal Cast And Release Date

Gina Prince-Bythewood‘s movie adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone has found its principle cast in Thuso Mbedu as Zelie, Amandla Stenberg as Amari, Damson Idris as Inan and Tosin Cole as Tzain.

Also confirmed are Viola Davis as Mama Agba; Cynthia Erivo as Admiral Kaea; Idris Elba as Lekan; Lashana Lynch as Jumoke; and Chiwetel Ejiofor as King Saran.

In negotiations are Regina King as Queen Nehanda; Diaana Babnicova as Folake; and Bukky Bakray as Binta.

The film is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Tomi Adeyemi. The story is set in an African fantasy kingdom in which a young woman goes on a quest to reclaim the magic that was violently stolen from her people. She and her brother ally with the daughter and son of the king to fight back against his brutal rule.

The movie releases January 15, 2027 in IMAX. Production is set to begin filming in South Africa in the coming weeks. [x]

The cast for Children of Blood and Bone has been announced and somebody at Paramount dug deep in their pockets to secure all our favs! Set to be directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and released in 2027. I haven’t been this excited since the announcement of the Black Panther cast in 2016.

unshaken by d’angelo from the red dead redemption II soundtrack ( just such a beautiful song, damn near makes me cry every time i hear it! his live performances of it are always just amazing too! his voice is just jaw dropping to me )

snake eater by cynthia harrell from the metal gear solid V soundtrack ( another just absolutely beautiful song with an even more gorgeous voice… her live performance of this in tokyo was absolutely fucking incredible! just one of those “ must listen to at least once in your life ” songs )

writing is just a hobby for me, at least at the minute! i’m not studying anything right now, just kind of getting my life back on track after years of mental health issues and so on… learning how to live normally again, slowly! maybe later down the line i’ll go to college or something but we shall see… i would like to go into writing professionally if it was an option, my mother thinks i would make a good game or tech reviewer lolol! ever the supportive mother, though it’s kind of my whole family at this point… i think my dream career paths would be a game reviewer, music journalist or photographer! having one of those jobs would certainly make me happy
