@erinwills22 is an enormous blessing to me. She's also an enormous blessing to our clients. ~ Here are the two of us (second/third from left) volunteering with @goreparkoutreach this past Saturday. It's an amazing organization that each week, gives out hundreds of hot meals, operates a food bank with everything you can think of including fresh fruit and vegetables, and @being_margaret tells me this week there was even a barber, cutting hair and giving straight razor shaves in the park. It was just the most heartwarming thing seeing so many people come together to ensure those struggling to survive in this ruthless economy (housed or not) are treated with dignity, love and a smile. ~ Erin doesn't work *for* me. She works *with* me. She is a teammate in everything we do, including immediately raising her hand to help with work like we did shoulder to shoulder together in Gore Park Saturday. ~ If you need us, rest assured she cares for, and about each of our clients. Empathy and advocacy go hand in hand in the work we do. ~ The results we strive to deliver aren't just financial. ~ Thank you for all you are, Erin. This? Is amongst the things I love most about the work I am blessed to do. ~ #fundas #yuletideride was an awesome, joyful evening, playing bikes, making kids smile and seeing the 🎄 lights (and...🦈🦈?) of #dundas. ~ I love being able to do my bit to help make things like this happen. This time, together with @dundas.rides, @freewheelcycle_dundas and @cafedomestiique. ~ But, I don't support events like this because it promotes my work. I don't choose what and whom I sponsor based upon some sort of perceived return on my "investment". ~ It's the opposite. ~ I've intentionally structured my work to create my space and ability to help those who build and promote community in the local cycling culture and beyond. ~ Last night, it took the form of post-ride hot chocolate and cookies for kids of all ages. ~ But, as you'll see in the last slide?
