remembering that the only 2 cranberries songs in yellowjackets are dreams (a song about having hope in the midst of crisis) playing when they find the lake, and zombie (a song about the fear and horror of the same crisis) playing when the girls bring javi back to the cabin. and that in both scenes they travel from the lake to the cabin except that the lake contains their hope and innocence (laura lee and javi) and its where the dreams scene is set and the cabin contains their last remnants of society and a new future (jackie and wilderness baby) and its where the zombie scene is set. and that the lake changes shape (freezing) but never leaves, but the cabin does when its burnt down, showing that they are still children full of innocence and hope, but they are no longer a piece of civilisation and they will never be able to recover.
