Anyway, so, can we say the ferries could be maybe...extracted from...with a little engineering, to make them lighter. Say, they weigh half as much and dont have to be bigger than the ones above (because of decentralization and some transit changes) regardless of route. If they weigh half as much do they need half the horsepower?

Man, throw that reclining cyclepower electric bike in a kayak shell and youre laughing m8...of course it appears to handle like a track bike so, thats fun. No wonder its so low power:

38 horsepower. Ok so...?....can the geartorque of a bunch of these, in sequence and maybe amplified mechanically? ...like....be linked to a big...tanktread thing that...turns the propshaft?

Wouldnt that be cheaper and cleaner like almost immediately, than what we do? Like these ferries im drafting off of were built in the 60s, by hands stuck to people who thought we'd be, what, half moonman and teleporting for vacay by 2020? And probably using something other than oil? I mean, when they pictured 2020 in 1965 did it really involve commodity wars and flammable tapwater and zoonotic diseases?

We're so traumatized our house is falling apart and everyones just annoyed to hear about it but its kind of still possible, theres just enough time, to do repairs and keep the roof up if we have backup power to run off when disrepair means the main's out. And unlike a house you'd actually want to salvage a lot from, i think if you have alternate power lined up for postcollapse you can just like walk out of the old house and build an adjacent stronger one with more ergonomic design and energy efficiency built in.

We have to resolve the transportation gap postdecentralization of supply {no oil no gas, lots of unretrofitted vehicles and people too far out to bike to trainstops etc, but maybe unwilling to relocate even given unrestricted opportunity, and, uninterested in extreme isolation face-to-face-wise}. Seems like a sticky wicket cultural issue, i think the solution is: providing at least one undeniably preferable and credible alternative. and im only really good at imagining how i would do things, solutions that are entirely logical from where i am

Like, i want to work 5 hour shifts several days a week as part of a cycling team that creates drive for a big paddleboat wheel to replace the ferry engine or like, at least a geardriven belt system to replace the fuel component of the existing prop or whatever? Look i just want to be bikefuel someone else knows how to make the doohickeys for it

Ok im going to math this, its about horsepower, wave/weather effect variables, and kinetic-capacity-multiplying-efficiency
