someone made a shadow and maria swap au on twitter where maria was turned into an augmented/cyborg human after being in cryostasis for 50 years and shadow was the one who died to send her to Earth and i think it actually just altered my entire brain chemistry

in the misc au was Shadow always an android or did he only become one after he “died” (well it was “died” in canon but in the au its more like died for real)

I've gone back and forth with it. Him previously being organic would probably make his is depersonalization, derealization, and disassociation worse, and also that would give him some connection to Black Doom

But also, a part of me wants Maria to not be real (she was coded into his mind as a failsafe so he wouldn't hurt people, and Gerald sloppily overrode it after what happened with GUN.)

I could make him a cyborg or something to have both of these, or Gerald could just brainwash tf outta him and he's organic, or something idk

Maybe I could include Hazard (my Mobian Biolizard) and she also has Black Arms DNA

An expansion on my last post about poorly explained concepts, the Losing Ghosts oneshots and Familiar Hunter are giving me hell, so I’m gonna try out a poll here to see what concept people would be interested to see in the meantime. Some of these are set ups for full stories while others are more like oneshot material.

1. Magistry to Magic: Martyn the thief was not always Martyn the thief, at one point he was Maria the eldest princess of a kingdom known as Miron. He faked his death, ran away to join a band of thieves (all of which are totally human and definitely do not include a direwolf, Scott Smajor, a cyborg, and a man married to a goddess), and now he’s about to rob his former family blind with them. They arrive to a party where Martyn’s parents are desperately trying to find Jimmy a wife, and they promptly discover that his parents are also trying to pawn Mumbo, the royal mage, off on another kingdom as well, Martyn is so ready to kidnap his former best friend and save him from a king who definitely just wants to get in his pants.

2. Tarnished Gold: Scott is rich and bored, Light Yagami if he was less of a homicidal maniac if you will, and Joel is just a guy. Friendly, popular, nice when he wants to be, and Scotr hates him for it. So Scott devises a plan, kidnapping Joel and holding him captive, just seeing how long it will take people to give up on finding him, and since Joel is there he might as well add a dash of psychological torture to the mix, right? So he can see how long it takes for him to break completely. Grian and Jimmy as Joel’s brothers are both desperately searching for him, and when they find out that Scott might be behind it… let’s just say Jimmy’s going to get some rapid fire lessons from Scar’s School of Scammery.

3. Fates and Fire Escapes: A short soulmate au, where Grian decides to visit Jimmy in the hopes of making a good first impression on Tango, Jimmy’s recently discovered soulmate. There’s a small get together going on when he arrives and after absolutely fumbling socially Grian decides to take refuge on the fire escape where he finds Zed, Tango’s ex who had tried to apologize for what they went through and congratulate him on finding his soulmate, but who just got snapped at and told to leave. Bada bing bada boom the two find out that they are soulmates and telling Jimmy and Tango… doesn’t seem like the best idea. Luckily Grian is in town for another week visiting Jimmy, so he can make time to see his new soulmate without Jimmy or Tango knowing.

4. Petty and Pretty: Pearl recently lost her boyfriend to a gay man, and Gem recently lost her girlfriend to her brother, two blows neither are very happy about. Both of them are mildly jealous to say the least, seeing their former partners so happy together, so they devise a plan. Fake dating, appearing as happy as can be, to make their partners jealous, maybe even jealous enough to return to them. Surely this won’t end up with the two catching feelings for one another, surely…

5. Love Sick: Love is dangerous. It’s not a hard concept to wrap your head around, at least not for Mumbo, which is why he’s perfectly happy to get assigned a partner, and a dose of drugs to negate any emotions he has. Martyn is a little less enthusiastic about it, which is why when the two are carted away on the same bus for their tests, Martyn breaks out and steals the bus, driving it into the woods and crashing it before boldly declaring he’s leading everyone to a safe haven where they can love whomever they want. Mumbo is against this idea but a snitch will get them all caught so Mumbo is dragged along with the rest of them.

6. Young, Dumb, and Magical: Gem and Joel really didn’t mean any harm when they took Etho, they’re just kids in their own right after all and when the cool human who’s been playing with them says he has to go… they don’t really like that. Grian and Cleo, the younger siblings of said cool human, see him getting dragged into the woods and they know they have to go after him because Etho is deathly allergic to almost everything and if he isn’t brought back to his controlled environment soon there is a very high possibly he won’t make it to the end of the week.

7. A Season Of Change: Anyone is allowed to love anyone they choose… so long as they’re from the same season. Unlike her siblings, Pearl didn’t really find anyone in the winter court to be all that appealing, so when it seems like she’s going to happily end up alone, her parents set her up with Cub, the son of a noble who was also born into winter. Cub is nice, but he and Pearl have no mutual attraction, in fact, Cub has other plans that involve running away with a snarky and scammy guy from the spring court. Props to him, but Pearl now faces the very real danger of being forced into a relationship with someone much worse. So Grian has the fantastic idea to set her up with a short, curly haired ginger from winter, and to no one's surprise Pearl is absolutely taken by her. Sure Gem may actually belong to the spring court… but no one needs to know that, not until after the two are married and Grian can allow his buddies back into the kingdom that is.

8. Faultline: Jimmy has it rough to say the least. He has two teams of villains breathing down his neck, both of whom can’t decide if they want him dead or alive. He is kidnapped so consistently that he and his roommates have a running tally to see which side kidnaps him more often (spoiler alert, they’re tied). The hero teams are useless so the only things Jimmy has going for him are the vigilante who saved him every time he’s captured, and his boyfriend BigB who seems to be the only person who trusts Jimmy enough to not freak out whenever he’s kidnapped… and yes they are very much two different people… mhm, definitely two different people.

Back on it with the Sonic-Tails swap (I really gotta name it. I was thinking Sidekick Swap, but I don’t know. Doesn’t that sound like characters are swapping sidekicks instead of swapping with their sidekicks?)

I’ve lightly touched on how Sonic-Tails are swapped, and I’ve drawn fanart of Doom!Maria (she swaps with Shadow), but I wanted to talk about our enemies today!

In this AU, Ivo Robotnik/Eggman is still an inventor. He makes a ton of robots. However, his motivations are slightly flipped. Instead of wanting to replace humanity/nature with robots, he just wants to outdo himself. He does not care about the robots that much. He’s more of a factory than anything else.

Sage, instead, is our main antagonist and Tails’ primary villain. She uses her Father’s robots plus her own abilities to spread the technology supremacy agenda.

As for Metal Sonic, he’s switching places with Tails Doll. Not because Tails Doll is Metal Sonic’s sidekick, but because it was to mirror Tails and Sonic swapping. Now, I don’t think this is an entirely bad swap when we’re just talking about their base forms.

It’s when we think about Metal Sonic’s other forms (Neo, Overlord, etc.) that things get trickier. Tails Doll is, after all, only fabric for the most part (he gets supernatural powers elsewhere), so what could his greater form be? I have a few ideas.

The first is Tails Puppeteer. Basically, a giant mechanical hand appears above him that puppets his actions. This hand is able to use itself and the strings to attack people. But I wasn’t sure about this idea because it didn’t match the grandeur of Metal Overlord.

Then, I was thinking about a kitsune form. Now, this could work. He basically becomes larger and gets the nine tails. Unfortunately, I decided against it because a) Tails’ super form already gives him the nine tails and b) Tails’ “werehog” form will also turn him into a kitsune.

After this, I was thinking about how Metal Overlord, at least to me, resembles Leviathan. It’s a sea serpent usually associated with the sin of envy (this makes sense since I’m pretty sure Metal wants to replace Sonic). Okay, I thought, let’s get Tails Doll to resemble a demon or monster associated with a sin… but which one? Sloth, maybe, but I feel apathy is a better sin and I don’t know if there’s any demons/monsters associated with apathy because it isn’t one of the seven

Don’t worry, I’ll keep spit-balling ideas

Another thing I’ve been thinking about is Rouge and Omega. As far as I can tell, neither of them really have “sidekicks,” so I should probably just swap them. I mean, maybe I can switch Rouge with Topaz, but I already planned on swapping Topaz with Abraham Tower

My first draft is that Rouge was given to/found by Robotnik when she was super young. She grew up in his army, but she never liked it. She hated the way she was treated. She defected with the sole goal of getting revenge. Maybe she’s a cyborg, or at least cybernetically enhanced? I don’t know.

Omega, on the other hand, was a robot made by G.U.N. More specifically, made by Abraham. Omega gained sentience/sapience over time. That’s basically it for him (Rouge’s backstory—or lack thereof—doesn’t give me a lot to work with)

After I thought of these, tho, I had an idea to give Rouge the Phantom Ruby. But after that, I asked myself why I shouldn’t just swap Rouge and Infinite? I was already having ideas of swapping Belle and Omega (they do have similar backstories already; it wouldn’t be hard to swap them).

But there is an answer to why I can’t just do that: it’s not really swapping sidekicks, is it? Rouge and Infinite are enemies. I don’t think Belle and Omega have interacted much (if at all)

This leads me right back to swapping Rouge and Omega. I could stick with that, or I could go ahead with the Rouge-Infinite/Omega-Belle, or I could maybe still do Rouge-Topaz (but that leaves other problems. Who would Abraham swap with? Maybe Gerald, but I already did that. Maybe the president, but does that guy even have a name? There’s also the matter of Omega still not having anyone to swap with)

In any case, any scrapped ideas can be used in a different AU (I’ve got several. I love roleswaps), so it’s not like I’m losing anything. I just need to pick one for this AU b/c I really want to write Doom!Maria and Tails hanging out

so sol was created as basically a “backup plan” to shadow? Idk gun tried to make their own version of shadow basically and just kinda. Got this random orphan and were like “you are going to be an experiment now” his backstory does not have all of the bells and whistles worked out as you can tell

he has cool powers now though!!! Since gun didn’t have an actual chaos emerald his powers come from negative energy from fake chaos emeralds (he is an edgy little guy ok let me indulge)

but yk project shadow kinda. Ended very badly so he also got put into stasis. He’s mostly angsty about never getting a childhood

ANYWAY AU TIME!! I DO NOT HAVE A NAME FOR THIS AU!! BUT IT’S THE ONE WITH SONIC BEING KINDA A CYBORG

so THE MAIN DIFFERENCES are 1. Sonic being adopted by eggman 2. Gun didn’t immediately jump to killing everyone on the ARK and 3. Cosmo is here. Bc i wanted cosmo to be here

im gonna talk about cosmo and tails first because they are like probably my favorite part of the AU!!! Tails met Sonic in a very similar way as they met in sonic X (i really like sonic X can you tell) the main difference being Tails didn’t end up meeting sonic again after that

they met 4 years before when most of the stuff takes place (so tails was 6 and sonic was. 11? 12? I haven’t decided if he’s 15 or 16) and that was pretty much the formative moment for tails ever and he’s kinda always been like “where did he go… i wanna meet that guy again” and then he sees sonic on the news (in disguise but his big ol quills are pretty recognizable) so he’s like “IS THAT” and that leads to him ending up with amy and eventually shadow who are both looking for sonic (shadow because gun was like “let him out of the vault we gotta get rid of this blue guy”) (also tails lives in a plane like in the sonic OVA)

Cosmo is pretty much just Cosmo but with a dash of amnesia in there (girly does NOT know why she’s on earth)— Tails was watching a meteor shower and cosmo’s escape pod crashes down to where he is and they get to be silly together and dark oak does not exist and the metarex do not exist because season 3 ruined me emotionally and i want them to be happy (i’m considering her having some frutiger aero influence in her redesign but idk if i can make it work)

ONTO AMY THOUGH!! She’s pretty similar to normal amy but with some inspiration from Misa Amane in there for her design and personality (i started watching death note a month or two ago and i’m enjoying it alot!)

ALSO MARIA IS ALIVE! (Since the ark was never stormed in this au she gets to live) She’s currently on earth and since Shadow had been un frozen she’s basically the one taking care of him and stuff they are friends yay :) She has to use a cane due to her illness and there is medicine now (not a cure, but it makes things manageable). She’s in her early 60’s :D

Alien stranded Solrin for Halloween! Well it's not Halloween but I made this early because if I didn't do it now then I never would in time for the end of October.

I'll be honest, my art block was killing me. But I wanted to make this still! For hallo eve. The best holiday of the year.

Au storyline (calling it: "Spooky Cove"): Scott never had Solrin biologically. His ex wife Akari & his son beck were his only family though they lived in Saudi Arabia and he was in California.

One day Solrins UFO pod hits California waters, right next to Scotts house and his backyard at 3 am. Scott checks it out as his depressed ass is awake at ungodly hours, and he sees the UFO floating on top of the sea water and drifting to his backyard. When it makes it to land on his backyard, frantic crawling out was seen of Solrin. She then passed out, Scott is terrified because this random alien that looks like space itself just passed out Infront of him and kept gasping and pleading for 'fresh water'.

Scott decides "honestly, I may as well help this girl. She looks like a young kid! Maybe?" And helps carry her from the backyard to his bathtub.

Solrin wakes up in fresh water in the bathtub. Her black pearl skin reflecting every damn light surface. The only thing she sees is Scott cautiously holding out a cup of hot chocolate and then decided "this man is my father now. At least while I stay on earth."

She now lives with Scott full time as the town's beloved "space girl". Yes, everyone knows she exists as an alien and is very very open about it, yes they ward the government and scientists off of her so they don't exploit her for 'research'.

I like to think in this au, Cedar Cove (and probably the rest of America, idfk) is spooky. There's werewolves, cyborgs, half-animal-half-humams, mermaids, ghosts, skeletons, and other spooky things exist. Solrin existing is weird, but only because aliens weren't proved to be real at the time- she blends in well though. I mean. It's Spooky Cove.

She had tentacles, scales, and fins. She is an aquatic space-girl from freshwater like seas in her planet.

She is a strong swimmer, and can swim up to 4 hours continuously thanks to her gills and aquatic features. Her long hair is simply aesthetic, her alien kind hate long hair but she thinks long hair is cool and rebels because she's just like that.

Her fins however are like rubber almost, and can slip through clothes like jeans and pants just fine. Her tentacles when she's out of water and isn't in need of them shrivel into very very small sticks before retracting into her back so she can wear tops and hoodies.

Her hair isn't cut though. She's rocking really really long hair.

She originally had skin that looked like black pearls, though she adapted and changed her appearance on human form because her dad is a human so she wants to look like her father now.

She is friends with Caleb the vampire, Emma the human, Maria the witch, Aiden the ghost, and Michael the werewolf. The band of spooky is very halloweening I love it.

Finally, I've gotten this list all done and typed! Not lying, this took me literal days to finish since I couldn't think of monsters for some girls and kept switching species around! Luckily, the people I've asked say this list is good, which at least gives me some hope that I made the right choices for these characters. Is an AU I make myself. basically the plot is "After the events of Devilman Crybaby, Ryo is reborn again, knowing of the punishment God gave him along his memory of what happened in Devilman Crybaby. The blond tries to adapt to his new life, but he feels an presence that not belong to this world, as if it were from another planet or a different world. But who could be that presence that the blonde feels? Could be an enemy or a possible ally? Meanwhile an new exchange student arrives at Nakado Academy".

This has been an image in the works for a long time now. This is one of my favorite pieces up to this point due to the Improvement in shading. The characters themselves are a part of my Sonic AU called Sonic Mavericks. They're a team of three cyborgs that serve as some of the main antagonists.

They are Klash (Cyren-1) who has the ability to manipulate the pull of gravity and the direction that it pulls. Maria (Cyren-2) who uses cryokinesis and some natural chaos abilities. And Rush Rudie (Cyren-3) who has probably one of the weirdest abilities. He is able to eject spray paint from the tubular claws on his fingers. In addition, he also has a special pair of shoes that allows him to magnetize and glide himself across any surface with jet propulsion.

These characters are also very inspired by neoeclipse's R Units from his Sonic AU series Project R. With his permission he's allowed me to make what is essentially my own AU version of his R Units called Cyrens. Cyborgs who instead of being powered by Chaos Emeralds are powered by what is called a Soul Relic. I'll go more into detail in the future about what a Soul Relic is and who the sirens are but as of right now, this is pretty much a concept image of what is yet to come.
