Cyberweek may be over, but I still plan on finishing! For the prompt Redraw, I decided to redo the header I made for @askthecybersquad since it’s been 2 years! I think it’s a vast... vast improvement. I only wish I knew how I chose the colors in the original. I didn’t want to copy them without knowing my reasoning for choosing them. Still, I��m proud of how dramatic the lighting is in the new one. I had a love/hate relationship with the blue outline so I highlighted the new piece’s lineart with it. Also, it took me 2 years to notice Matt’s hand?? Screams.

Cyberweek Day Two: Friendship!

I just love the friendship between the main Cyber-Squad. No matter who you pair up, whatever problems you’re solving, you have the potential for a million different kinds of interactions. You get the sense that they have a strong bond, both as a team of four and individual friends. Good on you kids.

CyberWeek 2022 starts January 16th!

A weeklong celebration of our favorite edutainment program with artistic prompts everyday! The show first premiered on the 21st so let’s celebrate!

What sort of Art is allowed?

Any! Traditional/Digital art, Writing, Cosplay, Video edits, anything you can make! Anything you wanna make! Sew a doll, bake a cake, whatever! Sadly, prompts aren’t made with all types of art in mind, so feel free to interpret them however you want to fit your medium!

Cyberspace has 1294 Cybersites! Give or take. Which is your favorite? Or maybe there’s one you would like to change! Perhaps you just really dig the Pompadorians hairdos! Pick a Cybersite and go wild!

Jan 17 - Friendship

No more romance! It’s time to let the friendships shine! Which two characters do you just really dig the bro energies from? Maybe there’s two character who have never met but you think would really get along! Do you like a duo, a trio, or a whole squad?

(Please be respectful and celebrate your favorite friendships instead of putting down other’s ships! Also, try to stay in spirit by not using a ship of yours for this day or tagging other people’s art as ships, ty!)

Jan 18 - Color

Cyberchase is full of beautiful, wild and sometimes wacky color choices! Is there someone with a particular hair color you like? Is there a color they use a lot that you think has a lot of meaning behind it? Do you just really dig the colors of the sky in a certain shot? Time to break out the metaphorical crayons!

Jan 19 - OCs

Have an oc? Maybe three? Show them off! Make one completely up on the spot! Maybe it’s just you in the Cyber world!

Jan 20 - Redraw (Draw This Again!)

Hold your horses! This time instead of redrawing something from the show, you’re going to redraw some Cyberchase art you made last year! It can be something you made for Cyberweek ‘21 or something you made on your own time! Whatever it is, it just has to be Cyberchase related and something you’ve already created!

(If you have truly never drawn Cyberchase before this week, then you may opt to redraw a screencap from the show instead!)

Jan 21 - Pilot (Prompt inspired by @opportunistic-chicanery​)

It’s here! The Anniversary! Let’s show our love by celebrating the pilot of the entire show, The Poddleville Case! Recently the original pitch of this pilot was found, so feel free to take inspiration from that version!

Jan 22 - Animal

The final day! Time for the “weird creatures” to shine! The show has many, many fun and kooky critters to choose from! There’s the giant sea slug Icky! The handful of a pet Deedlebeast! Maybe you appreciate the simplicity of the Earth animals like Gatito or Shermie! Go Wild!

I know everyone’s also drawing the squad members but man I love Matt and Digit. They’re bros. I often think of Didge calling him Mattie, and moments like in Find Those Gleamers where Matt’s like “Thanks, buddy!!!”

Cyberweek 2022, day 1: Cybersite

My favorite cyber site from the show has always been the Cyber Grand Tower from "Less Than Zero." As a little kid I was always amazed at the possibilities of all the different themed rooms this wacky conference hotel had, hence why I titled this drawing "World of Pure Imagination." Or "world imag of ina pure tion" if you ignore the color coding hehe.

I decided to participate in @cyberweek2022! I haven't watched Cyberchase in years, but I've been thinking abt it and I want to watch it again (the fact that a blog I follow is participating in cyberweek helps lol).

Today's prompt was OC. I made two OCs on a whim. I've come up with names and descriptions for them, so I'll put those after the image ID!

For Day 2 of Cyberweek, I wanted to draw a little friendship I thought would be cute, Matt and Creech! It would be kinda funny if the two got along really, really well despite Creech being seemingly softspoken and Matt a loudmouth. The two are surprisingly not as they first appear. Also a little headcanon of Creech’s antennae changing from yellow to green and red, like a traffic light. c:

Cyberweek 2022 Day Four: OC

I decided to draw more of last year’s OC, Zip. You can find the original entry here.

I decided to do little doodles of her interactions with the main characters, and they essentially boil down to ‘be as annoying as possible’. The kid’s smart. They know just what to do or say to throw each member of the cybersquad off their game. They feed on Jackie’s tendency to panic, Matt’s impulsiveness, Inez’s quick temper and Digit’s... well, he’s not very hard to trick, let’s be honest.

That doesn’t necessarily mean she’s on Hacker’s side, though. Indeed, Hacker’s ego and power-hungry nature makes him all too easy a target, and she plays off Buzz and Delete’s bickering to create distractions.

In terms of weakness, she has two big ones: One, while she is kind of fast, she’s not particularly strong, so if you catch her off guard or wear her down, she’s very easy to capture. And two, she has her own emotional hang-ups and tantrums that get in her way. She’s easily frustrated and while she’s cool under fire, if she’s genuinely caught off guard she’ll panic. She likes to see herself as a master manipular, and for the most part she is, but at the end of the day she’s still a little kid.

Day 5: Redraw

The original piece was something I drew in 2014 and posted to DeviantArt. It’s not longer on my gallery, but you can see it here. 

Back in the day I struggled so much with basic stuff, but I think Cyberchase was the first fandom where I really felt I could draw the characters accurately from the get go. Of course looking back that’s debatable. I remember loving the original so much so this was fun to revisit.

Today’s prompt is Pilot! To celebrate the show we love, let’s create something for where it all the started! The Pilot! Just a reminder that the pilot isn’t the first episode, it’s the episode titled The Poddleville Case. The original version of the Pilot was found just last year, but you may use the version that was broadcasted/most familiar to you!
