Breaking my hiatus to put together a goth inspired lookbook because the official Sims kit - WOOF. The goth culture has so many varied and cool sub-cultures, so I chose some of my favourites to showcase today.

Cybergoth is the probably the most unique aesthetic when it comes to goth sub-cultures; marrying goth, raver and cyberpunk fashion into a wholly unique style. It's typified by the pairing of stark black with highly contrasting neons and brights. Both hairstyles and make up are highly intricate.

Gothic Pinup or Gothabilly style combines the curve hugging fashion of the 1950s with the dark aesthetic of goth culture. It subverts the typical cheesecake pinup by adding cool tattoos, creepy motifs and moody makeup.

Nu Goth is one of the most accessible forms of goth fashion. It is a lot more sleek and modern, with less decorative elements and more understated details. It incorporates everyday clothing pieces, albeit in a darker colour palette than "normal" fashion.

Romantic Goth is a lot more fantastical than other goth sub-cultures. It draws inspiration from the Victorian era - with corsets, bustled skirts and laced boots predominately featured. Both clothing pieces and hairstyles are long and flowing.

Pastel Goth is very similar in its divergence as Cybergoth, however this sub-culture swaps out the neon brights for girly pastels. Besides its unique colour palette, it is characterised by heavy decoration and cute-but-creepy details.

Trad Goth (AKA Traditional Goth) is the genesis of goth fashion, originating in the 1980s alongside the beginnings of goth music. It is a lot less prescriptive in its style, although it does feature a lot of leather, studs, graphic makeup and big hair.

How is sista not freezin’....

Alright, here’s the deal - every time I see an all-black cybergoth outfit? I die inside, it is boring 8 times out of 10, it makes me YAWN like a motherfucker. This, however (as expected) is one of the exceptions.

I think what really helps the lack of colour is the amount of accessories present, especially on the lower half - but the ripped shirt sleeves help also, quite a lot in fact! Seemingly her whole fit is more about textures, which is lovely - cybergoth SHOULD have 50 things going on at once when it comes to textures, even if the clothes’ materials are actually quite similar in terms of what they are.

I think I may just be a sucker for fluffies with like bands or belt-like things or harnesses or whatever on them - also whatever she’s got hanging from her trousers I’m a massive fan of also! This fit is cool as hell even without neon, and to be quite honest I think adding a secondary colour to this would kind of ruin it’s charm.

It’s lovely, it’s solid, it’s GOTH, which is still a part of the literal name! Her corset also looks quite nice. I do believe it’s PVC and the construction doesn’t look great, but I can’t expect victorian patterns in present day present time, so I’ll take it.

Are those ski goggles on her head? Normal goggles? I can’t quite tell, whatever they are though they’re nice. Not great, but nice! The choker however is a lovely touch to this! If I did do this fit I’d personally add a little more around the neck area, and perhaps a nice harness to go around the chest area (I did see a very cute angel wings one recently, sadly I am rather broke).

I can’t see her makeup very well due to how far away her face is from the camera (and also the picture quality being quite ass), but she looks moderately unhinged (I’d smile back at her).

7/10, good fit! Very good, in fact! Some excellent ideas for me to borrow from here... Also, CUTE fluffies - but I say that about a lot of fluffies, because I do love fluffies like a ton...

Green, mean, seemingly radioactive - what a wonderful fit!

Hoo boy, okay, I admit - I go awooga hummina hummina bazoingo (etc...) when I see anything REMOTELY resembling this. Not sure why, I suppose I hold the most respect for all-out, especially when pure (this isn’t the purest I’ve seen, but damn is it beautiful).

The way similar textures interact, how they still find their own places on the limbs, the shreeded tights and the varying hues, the CYBERLOX - how wonderful. I wish I knew where she got her gas mask from, and how she did her eyeliner so nicely (I need to get on posting more makeup-spo, for my sake....), HOW she shredded her tights so nicely. It looks like black spiderweb, or like that one image I have in my computer... (posted below)

Anyways, dream tights. I think I’ve seen her cyberlox up for sale in the cyberloxshop before (I dream of buying a pair of their cyberfalls myself, although I do have to resort to diy for multiple reasons - respect though), perhaps part of their predators? I don’t know, I haven’t actually been on the cyberloxshop in a long, long time. If these are handmade by either the model herself or someone that does not specialise in cybergothic creations full-time, respect. Her falls look absolutely FANTASTIC.

This may not be the wildest cybergoth co-ord, but if you hit the rave with this be sure that all eyes will be on you. Which reminds me, I should really work on my dancing... Haven’t in a while (she inspires me).

Sadly I don’t know who she is, or if she has more stuff like this, tineye isn’t giving much, and I got this off Pinterest of all places (half-explains the oatmeal quality all of my images have... AI upscalers have truly failed me).

I wonder how wild she had to go with her scissors to create those wonderful sleeve holes (? sounds odd LOL) - they just add so much life to an otherwise plain piece (note to self: destroy your whole wardrobe it is very benefishial). I can’t see her torso clearly, nor her skirt (I think she’s wearing a skirt), so I can’t comment on those, except...

WHERE’S HER CORSET!!!!

Okay fine cybergoth doesn’t require 24/7 corsertry practice, but it’d just bring this outfit together SO much more, especially if the lacing hoops were arranged nicely, or if the ribbon used for the lacing itself was funky - thinking acid green with splashes of black (perhaps splatter some bleach on it then go wild with the black fabric paint wherever that landed).

Either way, this is amazing. Truly incredible, even. I’d pay decently to have something like this (complete fit, etc) in my own wardrobe RIGHT NOW, but alas.

Her belt’s a bit plain as is her torso - again, el corseto bias etc... But also why not wear a graphic t-shirt instead? Wild shirts are pretty fucking cool, I’ve got like 2 of them myself and they glow NEON GREEN in the dark!! It’s really sick lol, I loves those things to bits also.

And last but not least, can I just say how much I love that neon green splatter effect filter? Very chic, probably a photoshop thing and it’s cool as hell. I love janky filters no matter what (unless they are vaporwave - I do like vaporwave but not people that like vaporwave also...).

8.5/10, would’ve been a 9 if corset present (I have a bias as a pro-corsetter, I love those things to death).

It’s as shrimple as that.
