Dear Best Friend

im sorry im so insecure of our friendship since you’ve left for NY. im insecure if losing friends in general. but extra insecure of becoming so distant because i’ve never been closer to someone besides my dad and he’s gone so you’re all I have. you know how fucking whack my family is. i dont have any of them to really vent to. venting to my mom doesn’t help, my sister is tired of hearing my shit too. im sorry im so annoying im sure you would rather be dealing with your own problems more than mine. i wish i didn’t complain so much. i wish i didn’t hate myself. i wish i wasn’t so insecure. about us as friends about myself about life. im so fortunate to not be (currently) facing student loans and completely supporting myself and i forget about how privileged i am. i complain about not being able to buy weed while my parents feed me and house me. i complain about boys blocking me or ghosting me and yet i go out and talk to them and do what i do anyway. i know its repetitive, and i wish it weren’t. but i just wasn’t lucky enough to experience any high school sweethearts. to know what its like for a crush to be mutual. 

its hard, when you’ve spent most of your life alone, to try and pull functioning relationships out of the ground. i’ve always been very alone, before you i had no friends. 0. you were the first person to actually want to make plans with me and be around me. I was always so bullied. cuz who wants to be friends with the awkward fat kid right? absolutely no one. thats why our friendship means so much to me. you’re the only person that i kept in touch with when we moved to Moorpark. because you’re the only person i felt was worth keeping in touch. i wasn’t nearly as close with anyone i considered a “friend” to keep in touch with them. we all have each other on facebook, never talk, but that was enough for them. i didn’t want that to happen with the only person in middle school to even acknowledge my existence, let alone be so nice as to invite me to your birthday hangouts. even though it was very clear, at least to me, that Ashley (fuckin gross bitch lol) or Amanda didn’t like me very much. but we continued to be friends anyway. and idk if you really know how grateful i am to have you as a friend. who knows who the fuck i would be if we hadn’t met. probably not a feminist, having been raised by whack ass conservatives. i probably wouldn’t have the music taste i do. i wouldn’t have gone to warped tour, or the grimes show. sure as hell wouldn’t know who lil peep is. i fucking miss you man. i miss going to lil tokyo every once in a while and getting sushi and boba tea, i miss exploring LA with you, i miss hanging out at your house and jamming to like weird vaporwave and early 2000′s pop and brooke candy and nicki minaj. i miss having you over and watching Nathan For You or those cooking shows you like and getting wayyyyyyy too stoned lol. i miss all these things we used to do and im scared that because you’re not coming back for the summer, that maybe you’re just not coming back. that you’ll go to grad school out there and start your life out there and never have the time or money even to visit. but dont get me wrong because im so happy you’re going to the school of your dreams and doing what you want to with your life. i just wish it didn’t mean you were across the country. i know that we only dont talk as much because of all the work you have and you dont have the time and i understand that.

Idk if anyone will read this, but these are some of my favorite lip glosses in my collection! I took the Tea Pot one with me when my family/neighbors would go out to eat at a restaurant on the river in the summer. I used the Cybergloss at school and the Ice Cube went on a lot of riverbank and climbing around on abandoned coal mine stuff?? Idk what to call it, but the second picture is an example. That was summer 2005 (sophomore year) at Dilly's Bottom on the Ohio River. I could write a 30 page paper on these lip glosses lol They have gone on so many adventures and I have so many good memories with them. I'm so grateful to have these in my collection! I threw my original ones away and had to repurchase but it's so worth it!
