Some gems from Hemswell today!

1 and 2 - very cool vintage children's rides, the sort of thing I'd buy in a heartbeat if I was rich. My mum said they're older than her (she was born in 1969)

3 and 4 - strange animal foot stools (?)

5 - a definitely cursed glass clown

6 - obligatory uncomfortable dolls

7 - a corner of taxidermy featuring an actual lion. There were also some taxidermy moles made to look like axe murderers in one of the cabinets (not pictured)

8 - HER

9 - a gorgeous lithograph I would kill for. Unfortunately it was £75 and neither me nor my mum could afford it 😔

10 - potentially one of the best, and weirdest things I've ever seen: a rocking horse tricycle. Definitely adult sized too. Another thing I'd buy in a heartbeat if I was a millionaire

I went to a bunch of cool places in September, where I saw and did a lot of cool things, but now I just want to vegetate on the couch and play some otome games for the rest of the month. I'll probably end up socialising a lot and getting some piercings instead, because October is just Like That.

[ID: A post, user name obscured, from the subreddit r/Weird titled "A humpback whale was found dead in amazon rainforest". An accompanying photo shows a small group of people gathered at the tail end of a very large off-white mass [news reports described the whale as a 36-foot long, 10-ton juvenile]. The belly-up whale's deflated-seeming torso has a thickly ribbed texture. One pale fluke stretches out from its side. Trees overhang the scene on two sides.

A reply to the post, user name obscured, reads "This doesn't surprise me. The Amazon rainforest is no place for a whale to survive."

Just pulled this wee chap out of the freezer. It’s going to be a very interesting week!
