I drew my dream!

It stuck with me much more than most of my other dreams do. I was back in the shark-pond (a place that shows up in a lot of my dreams- basically a pond filled with an insane number of sharks/eels/fish/prehistoric aquatic life)

And after a while i noticed that i had jellyfish/mushroom things growing on my arms. I didnt think much of it, and then after taking my family to see this cool aquarium, my dad mentioned the jellyfish, asking why i wasnt bothering with them.

I then proceeded to freak out and tear the jellyfish/mushrooms out. And they came out reallllly easily. And a lot of my arm came out with them, leaving me with just bones and scraps of washy skin and flesh.

The thing that freaked me out the most was that there was no blood. just pasty white, and i couldnt tell where the roots of the jellyfish ended and where I started.

The ones done on a sketchbook were made at my work bc the sketchbook is small and it doesn't weigh like the my fuckign tablet and also I have less anxiety carrying a little book of pochacco on my bag than a tablet on public transport.

I borrowed some of the anatomy medical books from my cousin to understand how to morph his stupid body and mix it with the one of a mantis bc mantises are Hugo coded for me, not only because they are green but also because they are cunty af.

The ones down here were like.... The first designs I was imagining for Hugo and at that point I didn't thought about how his face should look, but then while I was showing those to my cousin who is studying biology and asking if there were some parts ok in the anatomy of the mantis she said "you're avoiding the face too much, when are you going to stop running away from doing it?" And... Ok FINE

Isa are you proud of me from stop running from designing a insectish face?!?!?

Also at first I wanted him to look dead and gray but that was too straight for a Hugo desing so now you guys get male bird Hugo but is actually not a male bird is a gender questionable insect.

His design is subject to change because I'm always unsatisfied with a bunch of things I do and I may or may not want to do a full organs organization and vertical dissection of this stupid homo.

Maybe.

These last couple of years have been exceptionally difficult globally, nationally and personally. Like every bit of joy had to be punctuated with a gut wrenching misery and it's taken just about all of me to keep myself from crumbling under it all. Grieving and living are two very different things and you can only do so much of the former until it wears on those around you and your job and the pile of things that still have yet to be done. Grief is an inconvenience. Grief keeps you frozen in one place while the world still spins. Life goes on with or without you no matter how much it hurts. You can spill your guts, you can vent your pain, you can scream at the top of your lungs as long as it doesn't infringe on others. Life goes on, life goes on, life will always go on whether or not you're ready to rejoin society. You must function, you must resume productivity, you must work through the debilitating grief because there is only so much patience you will be afforded. There is only so much bereavement that will be tolerated. You are only as useful as much as you can provide. And well before you're healed, you pack those insides in a neat little box and resume living as expected.
